For today

Outside my window
The sun is bright and the air is calm

I am thinking

Just 22 days and my brother Alan will be here for a visit

I am thankful for

Everything!

From the kitchen

Soon there will be a cup of tea for me to drink and an English Muffin to eat

T shirt and shorts and I am barefooted

Around the house

Soon I will get Mr H up...doctor appointment this morning

I am hearing

The call of the Quails...they just arrived in the yard

Which Challenge project to work on next!

Re-write my shopping list....for stash and projects...no, not food!

Well, I have several things I want to accomplish today...not sure about most of them getting done. I want to go to Staples, World Market, want need some chocolates, and of course sit and stitch!

I love the bloom in the above picture...here is the cactus...from a neighbor's house...

Not sure  of the cactus name...the blooms are elongated, about 6 inches...I would love to have one of these!

What a difference a week can make. I am finally thinking hoping that this cold is coming to an end. I am not fooling myself to thinking that I can have a normal day yet, but I am getting there. Taking the NyQuil Nighttime during the day has kept me a bit off, but at the same time the rest is just what I needed. I was smart enough not to really stitch. Fred sat by and waited, but I was careful slow with the needle so no thread for him. There of course is no update for my challenge pieces, but I think soon there will be.....

Thank you all for visiting and sending me emails....it really has meant a lot to have such caring friends. I have two  packages ready to mail out...hopefully I will get to the Post Office this Wednesday to get that done.

Had a busy time last night. My dear next door neighbor called me to ask me to come over, she was just not feeling well at all. Of course I went quickly, as she is going to be 90 this May . She looked pale....I suggested we go to the ER and she agreed. Now, her dear sweet hubby who is 90 and has Alzheimer's Dse said he would drive her...NOT gonna happen on my watch! Instead, Mr H came right over so we could go. They were very nice at the hospital...her blood pressure was 190/70....they ran some tests, gave her a pill and a few hours later... by 11 pm, we were back home, her pressure dropped to 148/70...good...a bit tired this morning...but it is for a very good reason. Her daughter lives in CA and son in NM so I am like the daughter she did not raise. We were only too happy to help. Well, Zoe is finally off the bed and wants needs to get right out...so I will sign off for now...oh and there is no stitching to post...at least none that you can see yet!

Mr H has the virus that is going around...doctor said to rest and plenty of fluids...so you know that means I have to cook for myself! Now I do know how--- but,...anyway, last night I made a wonderful fried rice, baked a blueberry tea bread and it also means that I have to feed Zoe. She is such a finicky eater! I managed to finish stitching Sewing Girl...grab your cup of whatever and meet me over my other place.

We encounted this free roaming herd of Long Horn cattle yesterday, so I got out of the car to take a picture......The guy in the lower picture decided to  head my way...seemed a little put out...I got back into the car.
