Has it really been that many days.....

This week has escaped me! It certainly is not because I was busy.... no, but I have been tired and lazy. I may not have been creative but I did read and watch a few things on Netflix. Oh and I did feel sorry for myself a few times. I know that I have come a long way this past year and still have a way to go. A quick morning chat with The Brother Alan and I did feel better. Did I tell you yet?
The winds really kicked up yesterday and the temp reached 115. We had the first dust storm of this monsoon season yesterday.
Not too much dust hit my area but the winds have made a real mess in the garden. There was plenty of debris in the air! It will stay that way for a few days... it is still windy today. The temp at 4 AM was 93 which meant there was little cool down during the overnight. Right now the chimes and buoy bell are calling out.
I went for a Bone Density scan yesterday and the gal doing the test was from New Jersey so we had a good New England chat. It did not take long but I forgot to ask when the results would be sent to my doctor so I will call his office today. I had a test back in the mid 90s and it did show some deterioration. Remind me to tell you....
I must admit to not drinking enough water yesterday and I feel it today so I will be sure to stay hydrated with my water and frozen fruit added.... black raspberries, strawberries, peaches and pineapple chunks... and a slice of lemon too.  Right now I am a bit hungry so a scrambled egg and a cup of tea sounds about right. Have you heard?
The Brother Alan and Lisa will be here in September.... arriving on the 18th.... we already have a few plans thought out. I also have a few To Do things for him. So the count down is on.
Off I go...glad that we had time to chat. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship....

So this is July

The temps are where they should be... hot and no sign of any real cooling. This is the first year that I am somewhat bothered by the heat but I think it is just a mental thing this time around. The dull headaches seem to be from the real lack of continuous sleep. My mind of course has been really preoccupied this past year and months.
Today I have a morning HOA task then off to Staples for printer ink. I thought I had extra but of course not. I hope to be creative when I return home...it is not a lack of projects already waiting to be finished, just me.... lack of ambition. Maybe if I gather the projects in the works I might find interest in at least one of them.
A recent question from Jo about the bunny picture I posted questioned if it was a Hare....It is a Desert Cottontail:
The length of a desert cottontail is thirteen to seventeen inches; ears average three to four inches long; and the average weight is two to three pounds. Females are larger than the males. Hind feet are large and average three inches long.
We have two burrows in our community, (that I know of) one is in our center courtyard under a large spread of Prickly Cactus and the other is at the cul-de-sac  where there is another Prickly Cactus garden.

Good protection when they are running from the coyotes. If you did not know, their babies are called kits!
I hope all of you with 4th of July plans have a wonderful day tomorrow. Glad that you visited today and I thank you for the kind words and most of all for your friendship.
If anyone has extra ambition... send it my way!
A note to Dianna.... the beautiful glass rose has found it's place by the pond. Denny loved the pond so it is fitting that it is there. When darkness arrives it has a gentle light that I can see from my bedroom.

A bouquet from friends

These past few days, today included, I have had a light headache which starts my day and usually by afternoon disappears. Yes, I do believe the heat is bothering me but I have been here 14 years so it is not like I am a newbie to Arizona. Maybe it is the age thing.... anyway, feeling lazy due to poor sleep which had crept back into my nighttime. It does not help to have a few things camped out in my mind. Then yesterday afternoon the phone rang and it was to see if I had a few minutes to spare. Across the courtyard came Robyn...
in hand were these gorgeous flowers... for me. Robyn said sunflowers remind her of me..... I do love sunflowers. What a sweet thing to say and do. How lucky I am to have these two friends. Beautiful large sunflowers, pale peach roses and sunny mums....they grace my table.

I have not been totally idle, I have done a bit of reading. The clothes swirled in the washer but Bissell remained alone in the garage. Still deciding whether to shop for a new one. I have honestly been resting my hand. After all the beading recently it needs it. Last night I set the oven to self-clean and just waiting for it to cool completely before giving it a wipe out. There are no housework or garden plans today.
Here it is the first of July.... with all the drought and high heat many firework displays have been banned. The fire danger is just too high. Personally it is okay with me.  So whatever your holiday plans are, please be careful around any fireworks. Keep your celebrations safe.
So very nice to have you stop by for a chat. Thank you for the kind words and most of all thank you for your friendship.
