An evening post

This is a bit different, posting in the early evening. Once in awhile I have to live dangerously....take a chance and throw caution to the wind. Let me tell you it is a little windy out here tonight. First How about a mail delivery...
This was gifted to me by Stephanie from Blue Star Stitcher who just finished stitching this. I am waiting to see how she finishes hers. Isn't it wonderful!  I think I  will finish mine as a pillow. Just so much hanging space.Stephanie lives right here in Arizona. Then this arrived
Since I can not wait, I already started one. I do not size 40 tatting thread, so I am trying size 30. I also have pearl cotton size 12 which may be very close to the 40. No matter, I am anxious to make this. I do enjoy my tatting. So, knowing I will be making this or that, my fingers did some on-line shopping.....
these new colors also arrived.  I have enough to keep me busy for a while. One day I may even try a doily...or not. Time will tell.  Today my friend Glenda and attended a local church fashion show and luncheon. It was not, how shall I say this;  okay, we both will not be attending next years production. Someone needs to organize them a little better. Not a total loss, out with a friend is nice no matter where you go or do.  Have you noticed the date? February has come and is almost gone. I know, you are saying well it is a short month....but it just has passed quickly for me. Actually lots of days/weeks/months seem to be flying by.  Right now, I need a cup of coffee and to put my feet up. It was nice having time to chat with you. Thank you for your kind words and thank you for your friendship. Have a good evening/day tomorrow.  💞

Butterflies and Picots

Yesterday's tatting demonstration was a bit difficult...so many of the gals wanted to learn that it was nearly impossible to really help and explain to all of them. I hope those few who did manage to make a ring will continue and those who di not grasp it will continue to try. Like with all crafts practice is what will help achieve the goal. So, with that, I decided to try to make double and triple picots.
I tried last night before going to bed with little to no success. When that happens, put it down and return later. This is what I accomplished this morning. Not bad. They are tricky but with more practice I believe I will be able to incorporate them into my tatting. Yesterday morning I decided to try to tat bugle beads into butterflies. I love making fabrix and paper origami butterflies so ...
Love these little critters. They require some fiddling,  but doable and with practice they will be better. Perfect for using up those last bits on the shuttle.
They are tiny, about 3/4 inch but oh so cute. I see more of these coming off the shuttles. This morning Sue and I will be joining the ladies at the needlework group and I will continue to work on Words of Affirmation. Today will be Kind, (#3.) Still working on what I will use to hang the banner. Dear friend gave me some fresh picked Arizona lemons ...
Delicious, especially that they are so fresh. I think I would love to have one in our yard in a large pot. Finished my first cup of coffee and my favorite bowl of cereal, Cheerios and I think I need another coffee. Hard to wake up today....slept until 4 AM which is nice for a change. So, with that I will wish you a good day. Thank you for visiting and leaving kind words. Thank you most of all for your friendship.  🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Enough with the rain

Two full days of rain this past weekend. Now do not get me wrong, we do need the rain here in the Valley of the Sun desert, but 2 days? Finally it was a mostly sunny day yesterday and my visit with JeanneG was sitting outside in her yard. Lovely!  Alice is ready for another page hopefully today. I really need to get back to her. If only........
I did not look through the Handy Hands catalog last week .... these arrived this weekend and the colors are popping. Guess more tatting in in the days ahead. I re-did the Irish Penny for Maryann...
I felt the thread seemed to light weight for such a heavy coin and this suited it better. Hope she likes it when I see her on Thursday. I also made another Ice Drop, this one with a heart border...
Not perfect, but the next one will be better. Tricky with the hearts. I think I will make one in solid color. The gals who create these designs are driving us crazy, we want to make them all and probably will. Tomorrow is my EGA demonstrate tatting day. I have organized myself several times and still feel like I will forget something. My thought is to take too much and that way I will be sure to have all that I need to demonstrate. Hopefully someone will be able to have a good experience from this. Tatting is not that easy to learn but once you do it is enjoyable. Always room to learn more. It is just about time for me to have a cup of coffee and maybe some Eggo waffles...with honey and butter. Happy to have you stop by. Thank you for the kind words and your friendship which always make my day. Have a wonderful day.  ☕
