How the time flies and other things!

Hello....where have I been and what am I doing? Well, good news is that I have been discharged by the surgeon. I am still healing but everything is looking but more importantly feeling good. I will continue therapy on my own.

The scares are fading nicely. The one on the finger almost completely and the palm needs continued massaging.

The middle finger where the Dupuytren's Contracture was had more damage than the doctor anticipated. One of the tendons was very mangled and had to be removed. The finger will not bend any further nor straighten completely at this time. The important thing....no pain as before.

I have been back to the craft table working on gifts. Howeever, the past days it has become

wrapping and packing to ship center! Murphy is checking it daily to see if he can have a box! He raids the scraps proudly. Our gifts will once again not be under the tree for obvious reasons....

We started to put them on the fireplace mantel with my Melting Snowman. At the moment Murphy is resting...

We had a coyote encounter...almost yesterday. It was 10:45am and we were taking a walk. I try to notice all around me when I am out and so it was that there was a big black pickup up the street on the wrong side of the road and not parked. All of a sudden the truck began to move at an angle straight for us but stopped along side. I had my hand on my pepper spray just in case when he warned me of a coyote coming our way.

Sure enough the large coyote crossed to our side of the street a little way ahead of us. Murphy of course began to call him
bark so as the coyote began to walk our way I picked up Murphy dropping the leash to drag behind us....and tried to hurry home... not too far to go.... finally put him down and lo and behold, the poop bag container had opened and all the poop bags were trailing out following us! I must say, if it had not been for the truck driver things might have gone differently. He remained rolling along the sidewalk until we got home. Murphy was a bit confused about this quick walk but a cookie settled him down. Never a dull moment. That about catches us up. Glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.

Snowflakes

The weekend is past..... a quiet weekend. The boxes were sorted, sort of. I merely moved some to one area and a few others to another. The Village boxes are ready to unpack and will be set up in a new place this year. That is what happens when furniture is rearranged and not available to use the same way. The table in my bedroom is ready for the small tree that will be placed there. The front porch area will need a furniture move for the tree that will be out there. And so it goes...I seem to always be moving things. The living room window has been washed in and out and the sheers are changed.
I now have a silver trimmed snowflake to go with the gold one. I think they look nice together and will hang on my beaded display for the holiday. My felt tree will have all the tatted snowflakes. The trees will need to be unpacked and vacuumed…. yes vacuumed to be sure no hitch hikers moved in during the summer spent in the garage. So this will be a busy week.
Are you ready for Thanksgiving? You do realize that it is this Thursday! This year I even have chestnuts which I really feel are a must. We always had chestnuts for Thanksgiving in our house. Dad would cut and roast them and then peal them for us. I love them fixed all ways even raw.
I really enjoy having you visit with me and now I am off to get those chores done … those house fairies still have not arrived to do the deeds. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and for your kind words. Thank you for your friendship.

Birthday cards..... if anyone has a card hanging around and would like to send it....Eva P's birthday is coming...December 9th.

Getting holiday ready

We have had a few cold days/nights. This week they predict the temps to be in the low to mid 70s.... I am amazed that I am not sick! When I am out and about, if I even hear someone coughing....I avoid them. Crazy up and down temps this time of year. Yesterday was get the turkey breast for Thanksgiving…. and a few of the fixings.
I am looking forward to getting Christmas up and around the house this year.... I told Glenda it will be starting early here! I will start getting the "stuff" down from the cupboard in the garage and not all in one climb of the step ladder. The trees are in a floor cupboard so that is one break. Yes, trees...there are 3 of them. Living room, kitchen and bedroom.
Speaking of decoration...I bought this ornament hanger at Pier 1 when Glenda and I went out shopping the other day. They had them last year but I never picked one up. It is perfect for the large glass ball. I may get at least one more. The beaded stars will look nice displayed with it. I already have played the music.... George Winston's Winter CD and Hallmark Sirius in the car...I want need some holiday cheer. I decorate the 3 lamp posts in our courtyard and that will be done right after Thanksgiving.
Getting my haircut today... had to change my appointment form last week so I am stuck with an afternoon time.... might stroll the mall a bit before then. Still need a couple of gifts. That is about it from here.....glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.

A good day to embroider

Not the best nights sleep, but not too unusual. Finally awake and ready for coffee at 7:30. There is a nip in the air once again but not to worry it will warm up soon. I think I will sit inside at least for now and embroider on Bay #2.
I am trying to pick out some of the print to stitch. So far getting the stems in here and there. Still trying to think about the flower part. I do love hand work...love to  do embroidery.
The Hummer feeders are clean and filled. Now they will wiz by to check out what I did before taking the nectar...so cautious they are. I moved Dennis' Lantana plant so it now is on the watering system and I won't forget to water it. Because it is in a large pot it has to be done more than if it were in the ground. I still have not changed the timer yet...hope that I can understand the directions. The older one was not easy to program.
Decided yesterday that I would make a Thanksgiving dinner for me. I bought a nice turkey breast and the fixings. I, so far, have been unable to get chestnuts. Well....that is not exactly true. AJs Fine Food ( an upscale market) has them for $15.99 a pound! Outrageous!! I will check two more places tomorrow. If I absolutely have to I will get at least 1/2 pound of the "must be made of gold" chestnuts. It is not that I really mine paying that much, but it is because you know that at least a few or more will not be any good and will be tossed in the trash. While I was at AJs I bought a couple of gifts for Christmas and this for me
Although it is sold with Christmas ornaments, it is not decorated as so . This will be kept out year round. So pretty.
I have also decided to put out the Christmas village and the tree up. I do not think I will go with as much as usual, but who knows. I love decorating for Christmas. As many times as Denny would say he did not like Christmas decorating, he would always look for a new ornament each year and help me get it all done. He really liked the village. I will need the cheer of the holiday around me especially for this first Christmas. All of it will be of good memories and times shared. He will be with me in spirit.
Later today I hope to make the Pizzelles and then the Almond Biscotti. I did promise Glenda some biscotti.  All of a sudden I am quite hungry for eggs! I best get a move on and have breakfast. It has been so nice chatting with you. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. Thank you most of all for your friendship. Let's have a good day.

Enter at your own risk~~~~~

I feel as if I am in running in circles lately. Notes and more notes to myself and to Mr H....trying to remember too many things. It seemed that we had so much time for this upcoming surgery for Mr H now it is literally around the corner and moving in fast. Today will be the last day of things to do as the day is Monday. This afternoon we need to pre -register Mr H at the hospital. This morning a technician from Cox came to visit. I have had issues with connection for some time on and off. We visited the Cox store the other day back from some appointment and they offered to replace my modem free. I guess today was the morning! Here and gone already but then something clicked in my lost mind...the December card exchange! Can you believe we have come full circle from the the start of this ? So, if you want to be included in the last round, please let me know. And do not feel bad if you can not...I do know how busy everyone is this time of year. What must you think of me....this is the first time I did not mail out any cards!!!! I have mailed a card to everyone each month...just forgot with all this hullabaloo happening at Horton House. But I will mail out for December. Please let me know by December 5th. Are you all ready for Thanksgiving? We are, well I think we are and if not we will make do. For us it will be simple turkey and the fixings; a quiet day. Right now, I must check on the wash that I put in and due to my slipping mind have actually have wash twice already, neverthemind, it will be done by now and a much needed cup of coffee will be in hand. Glad you came by today....thank you as always for your friendship and kind words. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you form me and Dennis.
