Mail delivery

You've no no no, I've Got Mail

This arrived is from KimM who is sending out 60, yes 60 RAKs in celebration of her birthday. Lovely gifts: pretty fabric with floss, a Swarovski crystal scissor fob which is currently on the scissor for my Bee Happy project! and a beautiful Limoges needle case...wonderfully painted. How lucky can a gal get.  It really made my day.  What a lovely gift from a lovely friend. Today I am having a sore foot day...yesterday I stubbed my left foot on the bed frame and thought little of it. Oh it hurt like...well you know. I am always barefoot and that is not always a good thing. I will try to remember to slip into my comfy Nike slides which I must admit eliminates some of the pain. Today there is black/blue tinge to it and it is a bit puffy. This is going to be a sit not walk day. Glad Mr H is off restrictions so he can now tend to the garden! which is where he is at the moment. Still waiting for the Monsoon storm....nothing here in the West Valley. We really are waiting for rain. Today there is a bit of wind but unfortunately it is hot and not comfy to enjoy. I just ordered The Sewing Basket from Niky at just love it! I know, I already have a few too may projects, but if you se it, which I know you will take a can see that I must have it. Well my friends, so glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your precious friendship and kind words. Mr H just left for a doctor appointment ( all by himself) is 2 weeks since the surgery! Have a fun and safe 4th of July celebration for my USA friends....but wishing all you a wonderful weekend.

Waiting for the storm~~~~~

The Monsoons have started but not yet here in the West Valley. There is no sunshine today...but still hot and yes, during this season we have humidity. Not feeling quite myself today...just off sorts so staying home will be my goal today. Yesterday Mr H and I saw the surgeon...good more restrictions (within reason) and permission to drive. The doctor wants Mr H to start therapy in about 2-3 weeks. For the last 2 afternoons we have had a guest staying in our lanai...
Isn't he handsome...a Broad Tailed Hummingbird. He just rests on an artificial arrangement on the shelf. He leaves briefly and then returns.....stays for a few hours then poof! he is gone. His vibrant raspberry throat glistens in the light.
I am working slowing working on Bee Happy
just love this design from The Primitive Hare....and JCS June 2016 issue. The linen is 25 count Vintage Butter Pecan. I thought about using 3 strands of DMC but like the "lesser" coverage of 2 strands. I seem to be in slow-mo speed lately. But that is okay, I stitch for me not for speed or time. With all that goes around me at times I have learned to accept and adjust.   Retirement has allowed me to change and I have to admit I like it. My days are so quiet and relaxing...generally. Oh...the sun is just coming out to shine and boast up the temps! That means I am definitely going to stay indoors.... with the air on and my needle in hand. Glad I went food shopping yesterday, not that it was much cooler, but glad nevertheless. I am so very lucky to count you as a  my friends; thank you for your friendship and kind words. All your good wishes for Mr H have been special. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Christmas in July*****

This year I joined KimM who is hosting Christmas in July....and Saturday I received my exchange package....
and of course since there is no Christmas tree up yet, I tucked it into my small palm if you recognize this package as yours, thank you and it has been safely received! The hard part is not opening it until July 25th! that is why I have left it in the bubble wrap to prevent me from handling the gifts.....I will be good----I will be good....My exchange will be ready for mailing by the requested date....almost complete.
Today it is a cloudy start to the day. The temps is 90 and a slight chance of rain/dust/winds which is all part of the daily forecast now that we are in Monsoon season. The temps for today are expected to be around 111......even without the sun shining it is hot. The heat does bring out
the lizards.... this guy was sitting outside my living room window last evening. I think he is a Desert Spiny Lizard....he has a band of color on his throat of yellow, teal and a black band. They are rather large, a body of around 5.5 inches then the tail which is probably the same. I have not, thank goodness the opportunity to actually measure one, but I judge from the surroundings when I see them. I did some stitching yesterday, not too much because I just could not settle on doing anything! Okay, I was lazy. I am planning hoping to accomplish more today. I really need to buckle down. Mr H is really doing well. Has times of discomfort and has abandoned the walker. Unfortunately with feeling better also comes the "I can do" attitude so I still nag a little. So glad to have the time to chat with you....thank you for your friendship and kind words. Hope you have a great day.

Palm trees and a cloudy morning...
