The Crinoline Lady and a Baboushka Girl

Good day to you. My Jo Ann's MOD (manager on duty) took some pity on me and gave me the day off today.  My tooth is still quite sore and I have had a migraine on/off since the dentist visit. Now what do you think I will be doing? If you guessed house things you are wrong.....very wrong. I plan to stitch and do some reading.

The morning started very early for the entire household. The clock read 3:30 and Zoe decided she was hungry and needed desperately to eat. So Mr H fixed her plate dish and chow down she did. Then it was a need to go out...so she did. Just when I thought it was going to be quiet again, Mr H appeared in the sewing room  at 4:30 and offered to make me scrambled eggs on toast. Of course the answer was yes so I made a cup of tea to go with it. Finally it was 5 before things got quiet and I could begin to stitch.

You know when you go looking for one thing and find another, maybe a lot of others....that happened to me the other day.

I am not sure where I got this booklet from but I am sure happy I have it.

That's right, I crocheted one of the hankies. Now I can tell you that I did so while I was pregnant with my youngest son Eric who is now 39.  I was on a big crochet kick making doilies, many of which I still have. My original plan was to make the cover design which they show framed. Problem was, I thought to start small and then I ran out of time as he was born. I think I will float frame the booklet and display it for  awhile.

I did start this....

It is Baboushka, a kit from Lanarte. I saw this piece stitched by Kaye and she kindly sent it to me along with some of the threads. As I thought I would not have enough threads I decided to match as closely as I could the colors. I have a special finishing plan for this doll.

What was and a tote bag

This was what I was waiting to pick...

I should have picked it when I took this instead of waiting., The first one I picked was delicious. Mr H will be putting up some netting to protect the rest of them.

I turned the square pocket to a long one and turned down the edge and tacked on a button. I decided to add a long pocket to the other side.

I thought it would look nice along this seam and also here..

I bought the cotton doily at Jo Ann's and made it into a flower.



Look at this button that I have had forever...

It was just what I was looking for. I had so much fun making this tote. I am already thinking of my next few! Then I will find someone to give them to.

I am off to work these next 3 days, so it will put a slow into my stitching. But I will get to plan my next project. I hope I did not bore you with my tote...but I was eager to share it with you.

Who ate my tomato?

Went out today to pick my second tomato and some one ate half of it! A big chunk from it....not fess up...I am going to be watching more closely. It was ready yesterday but no, I hate to wait until today.  I told Mr H to build a fence around my plants...he looked at me like I was speaking another language. I am serious!
I will be  sewing my tote bag together later today. All the embellishing is finished. But I have a dentist appointment. I have a cracked tooth that needs attention. Not looking forward to this. I am pretty lucky with my teeth. Other than my cleanings, I have not had any work done for years. I will need a few drinks after this! My stress level is rising. I hate dentist pain.

Hi Ho~~ or should I say Ho Hum~~~~

Although I will not be washing floors.... I will be going to work today. I am not fond of working on Tuesdays!
It is a lovely sunny day and I would rather be working on my tote bag. I have started the embellishments....pictures coming soon.

Happy Chinese New Year ..the year of the Water Dragon

I am off shortly to meet up with the Sun Stitcher's Group....our 4th Monday of the month meeting. I haven't been in a few months ... with Mr H being in and out of the hospital... so I am looking forward to chatting and stitching with the ladies. I will be working on my tote bag. Very eager to finish the embellishments so I can make it into a bag.

I have been trying to figure what to work on next. It has been some time that me and Gwendolyn worked together.... I do have some sewing to complete so maybe that is the way to go. I also want to make another bracelet and a wire beaded doll...I really want to stitch a piece for my glass slipper.. so many wants and so little time!

I hate to rush off, and it was great  to have you stop by... but I must get on my way....have a wonderful day.

The sun is shinning brightly...no more clouds today. I just read that Jo is having another fun project...The Secret Stitching Sweetheart...check it out and join in. Maybe you will get my "heart".
I spent the morning ironing and cutting the pieces for my tote...

 My dear Gwendolyn helped me as you can see....

 Everything is ready to sew together. I love  these colors. I think it will be really nice when finished. I plan on  some decorative stitching also. The game...Patriots vs. Ravens is later today...so... but we shall see. I can always watch it on my TV and listen to Mr H yell just as clearly!

Zoe just got out of bed.....she is a late riser. What a face! She really is not a svelte as she looks here. Her weight is 26.8 lbs....and that is good for her. She had been 29 at one time. I think that age and the fact that she has issues is the cause. Whatever, we will continue to spoil her for her time with us.
