Some accomplishments this weekend

Yesterday was like a weather day from a movie. The morning was cloudy and extremely windy
This is just a peak into the Lanai. Leaves and dust from the winds and then it drizzled and then the sun and then it started all over again...a weird pattern of  craziness. the rain never amounted to much but the winds were like a hurricane. Of course with the winds came more dust...so the Lanai and the garden really need a good cleaning....but not today.
Considering the leg issues I did accomplish a few things this weekend.
I finished the Heart edged Ice Drop...not my best tatting but it passes. It is a lesson that when I have pain I should not tat.
Finally Dolly has her head and limbs!
She is resting while I decide on the fabric for her clothes. I also will be altering the pattern directions as I think it will be a waste of fabric to follow them. I at one time sewed most of my clothes so I know I can handle this. I am not changing the pattern just the cutting and sewing.
I think I have mentioned the keyboard issues and then the other evening the tablet after 2 years of use decided That I could not sign in for email. So Honey came by and after some messing around got it to work and then we had to change the password but the issue is no longer.
The new keyboard is really the same except a newer model of what I had and liked from 3 years ago. A very productive afternoon yesterday.
Remember the key issue? Well that is totally taken care of. While waiting for the keys to be cut I found.....
this magnetic Goldfinch for my screen on the sliding door from the kitchen to the Lanai. I bought a butterfly for the one coming from my bedroom. Now I have never walked into the screen door but you never know who might. A pretty reminder that it is there. If I should ever get locked out I have a way to rescue myself or I can call Glenda and Don to come to my rescue...like they do for so many things.
This afternoon I will have the Ultra sound on my legs and speak with the surgeon. How lucky I am to have you for a friend...and  that you have sent me encouragement and good wishes and concern for me.
"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the nicest things that you can be"...according to Pooh and me! So off now to do some chores. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words and of course you wonderful friendship.
*******13 days until you know who arrives!*******

Having an off day

Starting my day not feeling myself. Who ever this is best get a move on cause I hate not feeling well especially without specifics. Started yesterday and seems to be continuing today. The weather is starting out fairly cool and a bit breezy, perfect for sitting out but with the way I feel I am not sure if I should.
I managed some tatting yesterday and sat outside for a couple of hours. Friend JeanneG stopped by and we sat outside visiting. The irrigation still has two areas that I think are leaking but at this pint I am not going to worry about it. My concern is the two bushes that need some expert help. I did think of pulling out the
big gas powered thing...first I can barely lift it and secondly not sure about adding fuel and thirdly it is a weapon of mass destruction....to me. Yu do know the outcome of my using this would not be good. The blade is 24 inches and I can barely hand a little jig-saw. I have been invited to join in with Glenda and Don for a garage sale this Thursday/Friday. Maybe this should go!
I have most of the supplies for the on-line art class
just need to add a few things. Hopefully I am feeling better for the writing class on Tuesday and I must set up a couple of medical tests this week. All in all I am busy. No time for feeling blah. Today will definitely be a slow day...well, I do have to gather stuff for the garage sale. It will require climbing the step ladder and organizing stuff...we'll see. My email is still messed up on the computer, thank you Cox for not getting it fixed. I have been relying on my tablet.
The doors are open and air is breezing through the house....so nice. I will finish my coffee and see what the day brings. Thank you for chatting with me and for your kind words and most of all your friendship.

Stuck in the middle~~~~~~

that is how it feels, stuck in the middle of the week! Wind, dust storm, rain and the sun came out to make it muggy. That was yesterday afternoon. Today it is very cloudy, dark clouds hanging overhead and muggy.
A slight streak of pink clouds but overall it is gloomy. And did I mention muggy? The monsoon brings the muggy air that we are not used to having. If we are lucky we will get more rain. What we have so far has not really amounted to very much. Ideally it would wait until after we return from the doctor this morning....so maybe an afternoon rain storm. Would be nice if we could order it so!

I managed to finish punching sunflower....
just need to think of how to complete it....suggestions welcome. It measures approximately 4 x 5 1/2. I have my next project picked out but need to get the floss for it. Hoping to get to Jo Ann's in the next day or so. I have my shopping list at the ready as well as taking sample projects to choose threads. Mr H has a doctor appointment today so not sure if it will be today.I just subscribed to Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher  (PNPS) magazine....I chose hard copy but have been enjoying access to the archive issues. I have also started a cross stitch angel ornament but not enough to show yet.  My new tablet---seem to be having issues deleting my emails. Of course when I stopped in Best Buy the other day it worked fine. It worked when I returned home but last night, well.... patience with it I do not have. Well my friends...glad to have you visit today....I thank you for your friendship and kind words and hope you have a wonderful day.

One errand leads to another

My tablet was not working properly and it is only 3 years old. Off to Best Buy and the Geek Gal did not know what was wrong because at that moment it worked okay...of course. Mr H thought I should just get a new one --- who am I  to say no.

Of course I needed a new cover so off to Staples  because I like their covers better. Meet Samsung Tab E, or SamE. Now to learn the working of this one. So far the only thing I can not do is transfer my email addresses from the old one which means I will be putting them in manually as I go along.
Across the parking lot from Staples is Pier 1. So--- into Pier 1 we go and came out with several items..... first is this beautiful glass pumpkin to add to my 2 others...

The new one is the green with gold highlights. It all started with the purple and gold.....then because there are those plain ones...
just had to have this twisted paper pumpkin. It just speaks Autumn and will look great on the mantel if and when this weather ever cools down. So far there is no rain in the near forecast and the sun is bright and the temps are moderate today. Only at 91 so far and expected temps of 102 for later. Before leaving the store Mr H spotted a dragonfly...we love dragonflies...
love it! At the moment is hanging in the main bathroom. There is a skylight and it will catch bright light all day. Not sure if it will remain here, but for now.
Not to be left out of new items, Mr H headed over to Home Depot for a new wet vac.

After all, the last one was 9 years old and got lots of use cleaning the pond and the garage. So, that was the adventures yesterday. There will be no punching today as my hand is swollen again. I am on the back-round of the sunflower and that will be hopefully finished in the next couple of days. I guess all the shopping did my hand in! but I sure enjoyed it. That is just about all. Thank you for visiting and thank you for your friendship and kind words. Have a great day.

More than a cold but less than the flu

What a week! I finally feel like joining society again. This past week was spent mostly in bed, with over the counter meds that Mr H keep bringing me and periods of napping. Yesterday was my first day back and I can tell you, it was a busy sale day and I was only too happy to return home to rest. But lots happened last week. No, not much stitching at all....
First the postman brought this..
a RAK from Patty....love it. The chenille trim is perfect as is her stitching. It certainly brought sunshine to my Saturday.  Thank you Patty for thinking about me.
I mentioned that I did not stitch much...well, I did manage to get leaves stitched on my Hardanger piece. There is just the last section to complete so I can move on. I am happy that this part will be finished. But... and I do mean but.... next is the cutting of threads and that is always the hard part. I stress over making sure I cut the right ones!
Moving ahead.... Monday I decided to venture out for a few errands with Mr H. You know, before going back to work...... I stopped at the bead shop ...
I love beading on a loom... my loom is from many years ago so I decided to get modern. This is a really nice loom to use. I just grabbed some beads that are already mixed to try it out. On the way home Mr H pulled into Best Buy and I thought, oh not today to browse around at stereo/TV stuff. But...
look what I got. I am still playing around with it, but so far so good.

Last night I was able to download a library book...get Netflix...  and find my blog. So, it will take me time, but sooner or later it will be comfortable for me to handle. I am not tech savvy. My phone is still a simple device and I have trouble at times. I do alright with the Bluetooth in the car, but remembering how to navigate phone buttons....imagine if I tried to text!
Today will be my easy day... relax... a little bit of beading, stitching and trying to figure out the tablet. Whatever you decide to do today, I hope it is enjoyable.
Thank you for the kind words and emails wishing me well this last week. I sure did miss reading your blogs. I will plan to catch up this week. Hugs to you all.
