Enchanted Pumpkin Garden

What a wonderful afternoon Mr H and I had at the Cavecreek Pumpkin festival on Thursday....Very creative display....

These pumpkins were carved and displayed behind glass in cacti throughout the garden. Wonderful detail. It was incredible to see these faces.

there also were many posing pumpkins that were so nicely done. Everywhere in the garden the pumpkins were! I love the one relaxing in the sign.
This was a really nice way to spend the afternoon then we enjoyed lunch at one of the more quiet places out on the patio. The temperature was perfect for walking around the town area later and I was able to purchase a couple of gifts.

I have a few more pictures to share but that will be for the next post....do not want to over load you with pictures!
Last evening I went out with the gals from Jo Ann's for the monthly gathering. I will post a picture next time. Right now I need to get some housework done. This morning was spent in a long line at the post office, then at CVS pharmacy which I still have to go back to get the meds....so, it really is time to get the house in order. Card Exchange time

It is time to sign in for the November Card Exchange.....I know I usually start asking earlier, but a few of you are on the permanent list. So, if you are interested please let me know. The list will be emailed next Wednesday....My yesterday knitting was a fiasco....let's leave it at that. Hopefully today will improve.The Valley was under thunder and rain on and off all yesterday. There seems to be more sky activity now compared to all of the Monsoon days! The doors were open and the air conditioner was off. Right now (3:10 AM) it is 64 and chilly....expected to be around 74 today with another chance of showers and thunder. Instead of a new car I should have bought a boat or at least had pontoons added to the car. Now, with my glass of iced water in hand I will attempt to get the sock knitting back on track. Enough with the rain....

The last few days we have been having rain....well, for our area not as much as the rest of The Valley, but still, it would be okay for a few days without any rain. Just look at the sky

on Saturday evening....it looked as if someone took bright golden paint and spread it all over. Yesterday afternoon I enjoyed sitting outside knitting
It  was so nice.... 
At 2:25 Am this morning a soft rain began to fall....a few claps of thunder then it was gone. Now we have cool temps and clouds everywhere. So, I am still knitting on my sock. It has been soooo long since I have knitted.... but like riding the bicycle, you really never forget. Can't even remember the last bicycle ride!~

2 needles and a sock

The last 2 days we have had rain...down pours and we were caught out twice in it. A quick run to the market and the skies once again looked like "any minute"

no sooner had Mr H pulled into the garage and down it came....not complaining about the rain because we should need it. Problem is, that it never seems to amount to anything. Today it is so lovely ...sun is out but it is actually comfortable outside. I plan to sit outside before the heat is on. This is what I will be doing....

once again, looking in the craft closet revealed my knitting tote with one sock completed and the second at the ready. My goodness....I have not knitted in ages! I at one time worked in a knitting shop and that is where I found...TOFUtsies (toe-foot-sies) sock yarn from South West Trading Company located right here in Arizona. They have an outlet store in Phoenix. This particular yarn is made with part Chitin fiber from shrimp and crab shells! Soft and ooh so nice.

this is color #722 and the pattern was a freebie called Wild Kat from Deby Lake. It is knitted on 2 circular needles. I use a German long cast on for a nice stretchy cuff. I also, someplace in the depths of the closet have a lace shall started....one of these days.....
Mr H starts some testing for his upcoming surgery tomorrow and we will both get our flu shots. I always get a sore swollen arm after it.  I just found out that I won a drawing from Barbara ... she had a cute way to announce it. Always fun when we win a drawing....
