Oops...knives and carrots

First, thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday. The day I dreaded. I know, it is just a number, but saying 70 is, well, I will get over it. It was a quiet day as Mr H was not feeling well. On Wednesday while I was attempting to cut carrot sticks to have with my lunch

The carrot rolled and this 8 inch dagger cut me! My thumb was useless for all of that day and really most of yesterday. I think it has finally stopped bleeding. Mostly because I keep it bandaged and not using it! So, needle in hand has been very limited. Blood on linen is not desirable. Never realized how many uses my left thumb has....

Work with Alice has been nil, but here is where I am. Almost ready for the next page. Forget any tatting, as my left hand would not talk to my right hand and they must be friends in order to tat. All around, the last few days have been filed away. Moving on....this is Super Bowl weekend so my TV will be on in at least 2 rooms...the watching room and the recording room! Yes, we can be fanatics with football. Plans are to stitch or tat or both. Who knows. Now that I may have a left thumb again, the needle shall fly! Of course there is a distraction...the weather. Temperatures in the low 70s (there is that number again) invite outdoor sitting and mind wandering. Actually the garden needs a freshening. Rather stitch! Well, as it is almost 4 AM and I have been up since 2 AM, it feels like maybe a rest on the sewing room daybed is in order. then again, I really could get a start on the laundry and my bread dough is almost ready to bake.......the daybed sounds about right. Feb roo airy

Well another month has passed....they just fly by. The weather here is lovely and it means I get to spend time outside. Ran errands this morning to the market and then CVS so my day is now mine. Yesterday I checked out one of the craft clubs here in our community....Tatting. I will visit them next Tuesday afternoon. The group had been cancelled and of course not knowing I showed up. Met a lovely lady however who explained what this needlework group does. We have 7 different centers in Sun City. Each has their own programs/clubs and activities.  We can attend any of them as a member (yearly fee) and most of them have a small yearly independent fee. You can be as active as you want here. Now that I am fully retired I plan to look into a few of the clubs. Work on Alice continues and I hope to have  a picture to share tomorrow. I have had a "lesson" in computer clean-up and organization form my friends Keith....he left me with homework which I finished! Now I feel more organized and hope not to loose files and will be able to find files quickly. It is so nice to open the sliders and listen to the quiet talk of the birds. Occasionally the Raven drops by to sound off. All in all it is just lovely today.  I think you will like one of my Fairies..

This lovely friend sits on the shelf in the sewing room watching all that I do.  Along side of her is another friend you can meet at another time. Chirp chirp

Two new friends in the sewing room. They are so cute! The pattern was gifted to me from Ann at Beadlework. She has made several one cuter then the last. A great way to use some of those smaller fabric scraps. I can see more in sewing room. It was a so-so day yesterday...not getting into too many things. Actually I was just being lazy. I would work on this or that then stop and then this or that, you get the picture.  Maybe I could be more productive today but I am not betting on it. I think it is the weather. Although we are into winter, the weather in the last few days has been nice. This week may be in the 70s....so hard to keep the mind from wandering to other things. Just a couple more days before another month has escaped.  I have been pretty faithful in writing a short note for my Journal Jar only having missed a few days. I remind myself that it is no big deal. Since my last post I have organized my sewing table better. More organized for more creative thoughts. Wow, where did that come from.
