Here's looking at you....

What a day...and it is only 10 AM! I awoke at 4:15 AM...now that is a little late for me. I decided to pick up my tatting and get another section done on round 3.... bad idea. Well, as I looked I did not like the way it was coming....so out it came...round 3 that it. I re-started it but then decided to have something with my coffee. Mr H was also awake...surprise as he is never up that early. In the fridge he found Pillsbury Biscuits so he decided to bake them. Delicious with melted butter. I did have another plan for them but this was not a bad idea. Of course Mr H returned to bed and I picked up Doll...

she can now see you and me. I always do the face of any doll or critter asap... I do not like a blank face ..... there was a couple of comments I would like to address....it is not my own design as I am not talented enough to do so. The pretty "draping" around her face is a lovely old sheer handkerchief from the early 1960's. I have so many...all mine from the time I was just a girl.... I will have to show you one day soon. I tried a little playful camera work blurring out the hanky...fun to play with photo programs. It is already warm this morning. I do have a few errands I should do...notice the should in there. I do not k know if I have the ambition to go out.

She just can't face you....

Just finished watering the garden plants..... looked in on the baby fish who I could not find. The Dove nest is empty.... one of the young ones has adopted sitting on my foot stool on the front porch! I guess he likes the softness. I have not been able to catch a picture because he scoots away as soon as he/she sees me. I am on the 3rd row of my tatting.... and I have started, finally, The Doll...

now do you see why she can not face you?! She has no face yet. and no clothes. It promises to be a pretty doll..... a girl is never too old for a doll. I think I have passed the girl stage!
I have yet to call Debra for the tatting..... maybe tomorrow as I will be off work. Once again I find myself needing just a few more hours in my day. So many things to do and no time to spare.  I guess we all wish for just a few more hours.... I would settle for minutes! Next week I will be working only one day so I have great plans ideas of what to work on. I have a few comments from the previous post re: the stash give away. There is still time for you to select. looking for a new home

Another warm day going into a hot day here in Arizona..... but it is after all summer so we expect to have the air conditioner on and car windows up....The poor plants, however, need extra water in a state that needs to conserve water. Mr H recycles the pond water for the plants. Very clever.... speaking of the pond, that baby fish is perfect orange now.

Oh I know, it is not the greatest picture... but it moves very quickly and hides. Also, there are many many bees that drink from the pond edge and I do not want to disturb them and have them turn thier attention on me.Here is is just coming out from under the water fountain bubble. Guessing I would say it is about 4 inches long... the other 2 are about 10-12 inches. The last baby did not make it more than 6 months. One of the older ones died at the same time. We shall wait and see.
I have been working on my tatting... it seems to be taking up my time lately. Today I do plan to start my cross stitch doll. I guess you are wondering about the title.... now, we do not plan to move.... but I do have many books and pattens that need a new home. Let's start with these...

Another Tat

No, no, not a Tat as in tattoo... as in tatting!

This is called Primrose and will be a pincushion topper. I know, it really looks sloppy and not like

much, but it will look better.... I am almost finished with round 2 and then on to the 3rd.... I am using DMC 30 and I think I prefer to tat with smaller thread. I have not decided which will be my snowflake #3 yet. Hopefully today my new shuttles will arrive then Debra can get me started on adding beads to my tatting. You just knew I would want to add beads to my tat projects.
I also worked on my exchange piece...

just a glimpse...as it is a bit of surprise for Angela. We decided to exchange in July so I do not want to give it all away.
Another hot day as it will continue to be until September/October. I have permission from Mr H to water a few of the garden plants early morning. Some are off limits to me.... I also open the umbrellas that we do not sit under.... no, they shade the garden areas. As I was out there this morning, I saw the baby fish...he seems to be growing a little quicker now. By the time I came in for the camera he disappeared under the rock bridge. Maybe later when Mr H throws some food in for them. It now comes up to nibble. I am feeling so tired this morning. Not really lazy, but tired. I wanted to go for an early morning walk but just could not muster up the ambition to go. I must get back to my tatting... still need to start the doll, need to vacuum, need my coffee! Glad to have you visit and thank you for the kind words and emails... have a great day.

another snowflake....another sculpture

Oh my have we been having hot days...the temp yesterday was 110 at 3:30 PM when I left work and it is 85 now and expected to be 108 later. Imagine that we think we are in a cool spell when the temp is 90! This is Arizona and it is summer... so the air conditioner in the house and car are always on and I am comfortable. Every place you go here is air conditioned so. It is just the getting from the car to the building!

I* had lots of problems with this one. Debra stopped by to help me. It appears that it is the way the directions are written... or better, what was left out. So going forward, I will really plan out the directions and more or less follow the picture. Mr H thinks it is perfect so that is all I need! I want to do something with beads. Debra advised me to order 2 new shuttles that are better for that and when they arrive ( should be Monday) we will meet so she can show me the how to. In the meantime, I will be starting a tatted top for a pincushion. I still have not begun the Alphabet doll...because I am stitching away on an exchange piece for Angela due for mailing in July. Maybe today....
I have started to see the baby fish more. For a time, I thought Mr H was dreaming or seeing things. It is changing color from all black to orange now making it more visible. With the pond being very dark at the bottom, black was the perfect camouflage for it. I will try for a picture....but until then how about another sculpture...

This is called Leading the Way, the cotton farmer. It is at The Glendale Library Garden and is by Ann La Rose from New Mexico. Again, the detail is wonderful. The woman's shoe laces are perfect. I so enjoy finding these sculptures. I hope you enjoy seeing them too. I need a cup of coffee, so off I go. The house is comfy and the Sunday paper has been read.
