A strange meeting~~and a special bird

I was at work yesterday...at JoAnn's...and I was cutting fabric for 3 ladies. They told me the netting and satin was for a birthday party that would be today. The girl would be the daughter of one and granddaughter of another. Anyway, they noticed my name tag and stated that the young girl's name was also Grace....then stated that her birthday was on the 3rd! I told them that it was also my birthday...then as I was cutting some lavender and then purple fabric for them, I said that these were my favorite colors....it happens to be that of the young girl too! Now tell me....was this strange or what. That has never happened to me before.
About this weather....I think The Valley is finally out of freeze warnings! It can't happen to soon for me. Mr H enjoys his garden and I feel bad that he may have lost a few plants and I know for sure part of our new Ficus tree has some damage. The birdbath actually had some ice in it.

Back in December, Maaike and I decided to exchange Chrsitmas cards. When hers arrived, it had a special ornie for me! I did post it to my other blog(??) but not here...so I want to share it with you.....

Isn't this lovely...it hangs in "my room"  on my window branch and I think of her everyday when I see it...All the way from Amsterdam just  for me.

I am thinking of randomly choosing birthdays as RAK's, so if anyone wants to send me, here or by email their bdate...you just may get a surprise. I have 2, count them....one...two...updates over at my other place.....I will meet you there so grab your cup of tea or coffee.....maybe it's a hot chocolate...anyway I will see you there....

Well, I had a very nice relaxing birthday yesterday. I did some stitching and the update is at my other place....We are experiencing such cold freezing weather here in the Valley of the Sun! We have been in a freeze warning from Tuesday night through today...then back up to the 70's on Tuesday! We Arizonans are so not use to this cold....oh if you are up in the high country, Sedona, Flagstaff and such...you are and you get snow. But here...no no no. I actually had to wear a pair of socks and long pants! Never!

I love to see all the colors and threads I have been working with....

seems to be lots in there...some from Fred and just bits and pieces I trim off. I do not stitch to the very end of my thread...I usually cut the last 2 inches off...how about you? Do you use every inch? Well, I will push it down as I go and keep adding to the mason jar....
I thought I would show one of my tea cups and tea pot and one of my gloves. The ladies pocket watch is quite old.

What a day!

Let's first start with....Nataly..she is having a give away
Next, I am having a good stitching day
And...it is cold here in Arizona today! Along with strong winds, low temps....our air/heat unit is acting up. That is right...waiting for the repair man.

think I will go back and stitch and relax my mind....oh wait, Zoe is asking to go out! Of course she could not think of this before Mr H left the house....where is my sweatshirt....the hooded one to block out the wind!

Spring is in the air...?

So the Phil says Spring is coming! That may be of comfort for all of you in the midst of the snow and cold...but by now we know that nature will do her own thing. But, thanks to all that cold and snow around the states, we here in Arizona are having a few winter days...it is cold...I may actually have to wear long pants today and a sweater! Oh No! I may have to put on a pair of socks!! Mr H covered the plants yesterday and the wind has been blowing....brrr....what happened to the desert warmth?

Thank you all so very much for the kind and helpful notes to me yesterday....for now, the project is just a finish that I will complete later. I have already moved on in my head and with my needle.

?Am I having one of those days?

I posted my finish for Day #8 at over at my other place...but I am not happy about it. I just do not know....well it is there if you would like to look....and any and all comments are always appreciated. Maybe I should finish as a pillow (my original plan) or go ahead and frame it. I do not think I have ever felt this way about a project I have stitched!

What I need to do is get out one of my other pieces and work on it..to kind of put this out of my mind.
Mr H of course is very supportive...he plans to help complete this one.....ugh...

Did you download the new issue of GOS...it has brightened my spirits....some lovely things in there.

I think I need to take some Tylenol and have  a cup of tea...a Bloody Mary is what I'd rather, but not with a headache....thanks for listening....

Last day....

I find it so hard to believe that this is the last day of January! I really had hopes of doing many things...but alas, the month is over so I best make some plans for February.

Today I mail out my Winter Exchange...it will be on it's journey to~~~~ well, I can not say. I will be able to post a picture or two when I get word that it arrives at it's destination...a bit of a journey. I will have to re-make this one for myself as Mr H liked it very much.

Today just maybe one of those sun in/out days. Maybe, just maybe a bit of drizzle? Mr H is working on the car later today, I have a trip to the library and definitely need to stitch.

I do not plan to gallivant around town today, so stitching is on my to do list...I have an update other my other place...I'll meet you there.....
