I need a strong magnate

If I could fine just half the lost needles in my house... once again I have lost yet another needle. I know I put it on the magnate with my work last night. Maybe I should find a real powerful magnate to locate them throughout the house. When I go to work today I will need to buy several more packages of size 28. I just can not believe how I loose them. My fear is that Mr H will step on one. Although he usually, unlike me, wears something on his feet. I on the other hand am always barefooted. Shh, please do not tell my podiatrist. By any chance, have you seen  a missing bottom to my Brite Lite? you know, the piece that attaches to the clip on end so it stands on it's own and has the magnate on the bottom. Yup, I lost that too. I do not have any clue as where to look. It is here somewhere... but where. I am not usually this careless... yes, with needles it is a given, but not with this piece. Normally if I remove it from the the light I put t in the stitch basket that I am working with. I guess Sunday morning will be my  hunting day. I shall make a list of things I can not find and hopefully I will find them.
I did  get the needed thread ti finish The Witch so she will be soon standing and while I was there I bought the threads for...
the next doll in the series.... she will have to wait a week or so because I do have a few other things to do. Love the colors. I do hope there will more of these sweet dolls. Fun to do....
I am off to work today... I must make my list of "to get" and put it in my pocket so I do not forget. Imagine, I will be right there and if there is no list in my pocket, I will forget to get what I want! Geez! Before "I forget"..... rememeer we chatted about the big lizard and the baby thing....
Apparently, there were some babies born. Now whether or not this is from my resident lizard I did not ask...you see (if you can click and enlarge) it has those same long large claws as the big one. Mr H  often hears rustling around the plants in the yard when he waters and trims....I just got shivers up my back! He is still quite small... maybe 6 inches or so. He has that definite band of color around his neck. Well, guess that is all I have to share today....oh except... I had a wonderful stitch and chat with Sweet Jeanne.  It is nice to get together especially when it is just a short walk of 1 minute between our houses. Her project is almost finished and she will offer her pattern here on my blog! So, when she is ready I will post. Thanks for visiting with me today...thank you for the kind words and emails....I always enjoy hearing from you. Have a great day.

Oh so tired....

I am so tired this morning. I feel as if I never went to sleep last night... and yes, I did wake very early, only getting a couple of hours sleep, and I did doze off again for about an hour. Probably got 4 hours of broken sleep. Now, this is not so unusual for me, but I think this very cloudy day has something to do with it. But, all I know is, if I did not have work today, I would put my head on a pillow! Besides work until 5:15, I then have our monthly HOA meeting... not going to be my best day of the week.
Yesterday morning was a lovely time. The phone rang and Sweet Jeanne called to invite me over to stitch. We spent 2 hours chatting and stitching. I had a question about the design she is working on...it is from Milady's Needle and is Margaret W. Brown by Gloria Moore. Sweet Jeanne is making wonderful progress. I started one of The Witch Dolls.... already with some thoughts of making a few changes. Now Jeanne is starting to encourage me to do this or that!
Shortly after being back home, Mr H looked out the kitchen window into the backyard and called for me to quickly come and look... with the camera...
We usually spot this fella out front but I am sure this is not his first romp around the backyard. We just have not seen him. Sorry I could not get a better close-up of him...but if you can scroll to zoom in, you would see the most viscous claws on a lizard. It is hard to judge, but he looks to be almost a foot from nose to tail. I could not believe the nails on his hind feet! He just sat and stared at us.... I am not sure of the name. It could be The Desert Spiny Lizard ...not important as I do not plan to become friends with it. He can catch all the insects he wants. I will be more mindful from now on when I plan to venture into the backyard. Well, that is what I leave you with for today! I am going to curl up on the sofa and relax... actually do have time to rest as I don't leave for work until 11:30.... Aren't you glad you stopped by to meet my lizard? Have a good day!

Monday is a good day? we can only hope

Just got a call from the company doing the lanai project. They should be here within the hour to apply another coat of epoxy. I requested that the salesman come also... we shall see.
In the meantime, I sat outside yesterday morning to stitch with this little one for company...
he/she took a moment to respond to my call. Then promptly returned to munching.
I finished the second tier of wraps...
Now on to the outside tier....I know, I should press it, but because I hold it in my hands to stitch, it just gets so wrinkled again. I do not like to press over the strands of threads that are not wrapped. I have enjoyed this project even though it is so large. It will look nice on my table.
There is no news for Mrs Quail who still is minding the nest with the Mister. I always know when they are switching places... they call out to each other. Well, guess that is all for now. I welcome a new friend who just happens to be from my home state of Rhode Island! Thank you all for your kind words and email.... I do try to respond to each one. Hope you have a good day.

Sounds of the pond and a giveaway

What a lovely morning... I am sure I will have to close the slider soon, but for now, the temp is not up there. The sound of gurgling water from the little pond is so soothing. I must introduce you to a fellow who is hanging around quite a bit....
This handsome fellow is about 10 inches from nose to tail tip. He has a black band under his chin and then a band of turquoise and pale yellow for his belly... there have been times that he is just outside my bedroom window when I open the verticals! Quite a sight.

Moving on....I bet some of you do this: you are in a check out line and pick up a magazine only to find that you already have it or after buying it without thumbing through it, you discover you really do not want it. Well------- here is what I did in the last few weeks....

Just look! Here are not one, but 3 that I do not wish to keep. So......... if you are interested in having one, leave me a comment for which one you like... you can list all three, then I will send out you choice with a little something added. Who knows, you may be the only one commenting and get all three. I will draw on Saturday night, June 9th.

I spent part of my morning with the Geek guy... somehow I lost several pictures that I took yesterday.... he could not find them so they are somewhere within my computer..... that is all. Thank you for stopping by today and sharing your time with me.... thank you for the kind thoughts you send my way and email....have a great day.

Another storm...a win ....a KISS and a bunny

Last evening we had another thunder storm and some rain. It never is enough rain however because it does not last long and the ground is so hard and dry, it just runs off. But we will take whatever we get.
Oh I won Teresa's giveaway.....a really nice design...I will post as soon as it arrives. she had won it and now is passing it on and I will too.
Now I bet you are wondering about the KISS-----well yesterday I had to o for some medical tests and when I go for myself or along with Mr H, I take along a Keep It Simple Stitch project for the waiting!
This is a freebie Humbug...Sunflowers and it should be a quick stitch. I love these quirky little ornies and decided to try one. I did buy a lovely pattern for one, but when I need a simple design that I do not have to really concentrate on, this is what I keep on hand and ready to travel. You just never know how long an appointment will take.
Every so often, Mr H catches a bunny eating   having a banquet with the Lantana plants out front. Glad he was still in bed this morning when this little one came along. And no, I do not shoo them away unless Mr H is around.
Do you see him.....he is the very center of the picture....then spotted me in the window......

So he backed off a little. As soon as he thought I was gone, back he went to breakfast. Actually, he did not stay too long--it's Tuesday---the landscapers arrived so into hiding he went. I managed to do some stitching on the Nosegay piece. If you follow me to my other place you can take a look. I am always happy to have you stop by and visit and love your comments and emails. Have a wonderful day.
