Boo Boo and a mail

Well my friends, the doctor found arthritis in my index finger and severe inflammation in my hand yesterday morning.

He decided on giving me an injection right into the area....I did request leaving my hand and returning in an hour or so, but he rejected that! But, I will say he was very gentle and it did not hurt as much as I thought. Advice is to ice as needed and rest it when possible and return in 4 weeks. It does feel a little better today. Later yesterday the mail delivery brought me a delightful package.

I am a member of the Prim Stitchers Society and Charl had posted that she had a needle punch needle set to offer...and I got it. I do not know how to do this but always wanted to learn....look at how sweet the package was wrapped. And Charl included a design complete with the design printed on fabric. I am not really into samplers although I have done a few small ones. I do love many of the primitive designs and have done many of them. This will be a new challenge for me. My hand will really have to heal before I attempt this. I am able to simple stitch and rather slowly at that but only for short spurts. It will be an interesting day at the fabric counter today and the rest of the week.
It was a busy day yesterday. My friend did come over and sit helped me to understand a few things on the desk top. I learned so much in a few hours. He told me to keep a list of items that I need to understand and then we will get together again. what would we do without friends. I truly value friendship and I am greatful to all of you for being a friend. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Drama in the sky

This morning started at an already high temp...80...and the sky, well see for yourself....

the golden sunrise was so beautiful and the heavy clouds so dramatic. Within an hour, the sun is out and it is still 80. My drive home at 5:30 PM yesterday was 110. Today will be cooler....only 103!
I went out for a short walk. There had to be at least 8 rabbits of varying sizes out and about.   The laundry is in the dryer and I started the Civil War Needlebook. That's right, I just had to. It is a pleasant stitch and I do hope to get it all stitched today then I will find some time to finish it into the book. I will be seeing the doctor for my hand this morning.... my right hand. The hand that does it all. I guess, I want to get what I can stitched in case I am told to stop using it for a while. I remember  when I had surgery on my left hand and was out of commission for weeks....
Later today, a friend will be by to help me straighten out my picture files on this computer. I really need a computer class. Just when I think I know it all, I find out that I do not know it all. Part of the problem is I am leery of trying things... fearful of losing things. As it is I do know there are files someplace here but where are they? I think I have a computer gremlin hiding and hoarding from me.  Right now I must have a cup of coffee. I have added it to my diet and things seem to be okay...but only one cup a day. My system is slowly getting back to normal. Thank you for your kind words and visits. I am grateful for your friendship. Have a wonderful day.

I got mail

Mr H and I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend. While I was stitching on Sunday he put in a James Taylor concert DVD. We watched and I eventually stopped stitching however, but that was okay. Monday was another hot day...translates to, if you do not have to go out, stay in day. I got lots of stitching done on Clematis......

Now I remember why I did not finish this piece. Remember I told you it was from a small company printed in 1999. Well, the outline and vine directions are printed right over all the charted symbols and in some areas making reading those symbols difficult. Today, most designs have a separate paper with the directions for this. Anyway, it is looking nice and will look much better with the vines and outlines. I am trying really hard not to put this down to stat something new... that's right, something new that arrived in the mail yesterday.

I wish everyone would stop forcing tempting me to buy new projects! First is Threadwork Primatives Cival War Needlebook kit....I know this will not take too long to stitch, the time will be spent getting it ready. Then there is a Bird Brain Design, Beware The Witch is Coming embroidery. It is stitched on a tea towel.I know it is Halloween, but I had to have it now because I want to make a few for gifts. They have such great designs. Do you see those little bubble containers? they are to hold DMC Perle cotton balls. Too cute....I had to have a set of ten! These would have been very helpful when I was embroidering Natalia's quilt. I think they would be fine even with my tatting thread when the ball gets smaller. I love gadgets!
I must get the umbrellas up for the plants. The laundry is on and I need a cup of tea. Today is a work day. So happy you visited with me today.... thank you for you friendship.  Enjoy your day.

Short post

Do you hear me? It is another hot day! This crow stops by my front porch yelling and prancing about. He does not stay too long, just long enough to cause a ruckus and disrupt the other birds. I do not need to be reminded of the 107 temps. Today I plan to relax and stitch on Clematis and maybe dye the fabric for the hummingbird piece. Basically, today is going to be a relaxing stitch day. I am going to put blinders on so that I do not get involved in extra curricular projects! I have already gotten sidetrack several time and it is only 9 AM....so I must crack the craft whip and stay focused. Staying indoors with the air condition on is a must with the heat.
