A welcome cloudy morning

We are known here in The Valley of the Sun, Arizona for just that.....days upon days of sun and heat. Every so often there is a morning with cool air and clouds in the sky.... delightful. Doors can be opened and a light breeze flows into the house. All is well in the garden and the Doves are growing stronger each day. They are left alone a little more often so the parents can get enough food for themselves as well as the two babies.
All sorts of critters are around. Found this little bunny resting outside my bedroom window. He found a bit of shade yesterday afternoon and burrowed in for a time under the Yucca. I noticed him as I sat sewing.
This little one is outside my living room window at this moment...look at that fluffy white tail and big ears! Just outside the kitchen window is the hummer...….getting ready
to enjoy the Red Lips Salvia. The other morning as I sat out on the front porch ready and trying to enjoy my coffee one of them hovered over me and tried to pull at my hair....they are so territorial! The hummer floats outside the kitchen window looking in sometimes and I get caught off guard as I pass by and we startle one another. Having so many critters to entertain me is wonderful.
Evidence of coyotes around but I have not seen them lately.
Went to Jo Ann's, Michaels and Hobby Lobby trying to get some beading supplies and could get nothing I needed...guess I will be browsing on line. So much for buying locally.
Glenda just returned from a vacation and stopped by yesterday with this sweet little tea pot for me. Just enough for that one special cup of tea. Flowers, bugs and butterflies adorn the top and sides. She is so thoughtful.
Guess a little time outside this morning reading but I think this time it will be out on the lanai. Glad you could visit with me today. Thank you for the kind words and for your friendship.

Hearing voices~~~~

I know that I am a little tired this morning. Why? Well, the other day I found a lace shawl that I began knitting very long ago and at midnight last evening I decided since I was awake thought I was awake I would knit a row or two. Big mistake. I made a mistake and then could not see where and the life lines were messed up...if you guessed that I just tore it down to he start you guessed correctly. So, this morning I said to me myself and I, get started on this. I set up in my stitching chair in my room and put a movie on and then I needed to get a glass of water so off to the kitchen and then I saw the mixer and ingredients out since last evening ---
so I made Almond Shortbread cookies and yes, I already tasted  just to be sure they are okay. They are delicious and the aroma in the kitchen is heavenly. This is a very rich recipe and cutting them small is a must. I used 1-1/4 cups butter.  Generally I do not like Almond flavor but these are so good.
Another hot day. Temps generally around now should be in the low 100s and hopefully that will be soon. Sometimes the humidity really bothers me and a dull head is what I end up with. But, here I am scatter brain. So, once the pan was put into the oven I began to hear voices. Sundays are not my best day since Denny is not here so this worried me. The doors are locked so no one can be in the house....but I looked in the garage and then began to look around. Upon entering my room, there were the people I heard...the movie people! What a relief to know that I am not loosing my mind after all.
10 more days....you know what I am talking about!
Yesterday I found  came across
this Fiesta ware set. It was in one of the cupboards in the kitchen that I must use a step stool to look into.  I had forgotten all about this tea pot and mugs.  While in the same cupboard I also saw this set

a cut glass footed sugar and creamer that my mother brought back from Rome Italy many years ago and gave to me. Slowly things that have been tucked away for the last 13 years are finding their way out of hiding. I have so many cupboards!
So, I am not loosing my mind just the ability to stay focused today. And I will figure out the lace pattern and knit today. Always so nice to have you visit. Thank you for the kind words and for you friendship. I will stay focused......I will stay focused...The Brother Alan will be here on the 19th....I will stay focused!

Friends and a tea pot

Did I capture your attention with the intro????
Our Sun Stitcher's group has very talented ladies....
This is Jane, our club president, working on a flower bouquet.....
Ziz and Sunny both stitched a Laurel Burch cat picture and of course they are different!
Roz had just added the finishing stitches to this Latte cups piece. Now that the summer approaches, our group is smaller---the snowbirds have flown to parts here and there.
Before you join me at my other place to see part 3 of Dragonfly, I thought I would show you my other dragonfly tea pot. It is a tea for one set.
Thank you for your comments and emails and for your visits....have a wonderful day.

Dragonfly tea pot

I always start my day with a cup of Maxwell House coffee but the rest of the day is with Tetley Tea. It took a few years before I could get it out here in Arizona. Sis Lyn would send me boxes at a time. Finally it became available but at only one grocery store. I am a creature lady of habit what can I say. Here is one of my teapots....

I just realized today....duh....that I do not have a tea cup with any dragonflies......guess I will have find one. The reason I show this one is I have stitched one of the 4 dragonflies on the Dragonfly challenge piece...follow me to my other place and take a look. I have work today...hope your day is a good one....thanks for visiting and leaving comments and emails....

Off to work today....

What a lovely day Mr H and I had yesterday. We started out to get potting soil...but...he knew I was looking for a certain bead so he stopped at one place first...they did not have it...then on to yet another bead shop...he is so sweet...and yes, they had just what I wanted. Until I use it and send it I can not share it with you..sorry. My sis reads my blog so you understand. As I exited the bead shop to walk down a way to meet Mr H, I heard a crash! I never never pull into a parking spot in any lot...no way. As these 2 ladies backed out of their spots...not looking of course, they backed smack into each other!  Anyway, I went into the shop to find Mr H and what did he suggest I get....
I always admire this tea for one set...it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland...so now I have it. It is a Sue Zipkin design...I think there are other pieces.
Mr H finally got to the garden shop and picked out more flowers and  things are very colorful around the yard. He has a few to finish today...
I did stitch...let's go to my other place so I can show you band/row 6. i am so happy to have chatted with you today...thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.
