Morning darkness

In the morning darkness I look out from the kitchen into the garden and see a lovely glow from the spotlight on the tall grass as it glows from behind the large planter pot. The silhouette of a few ornaments can be seen. It is quiet and I am having the first cup of coffee. This is my think time...what will the day be, what do I need to do and what do I want to do. the reality is that the plans most likely will be different as the day becomes light. The season is changing and sunrise is now later, around 6:06 AM.  Now if only the temp would change and the cooler below the mid 100s would also arrive.
I found this huge spider web across my rosemary bush.... I hardly ever find a web in the garden. I so admire how intricate it is like a fine piece of lace.
Yesterday I made some Pizzelles and thought I would assemble the star...
I may look okay but is definitely is not and today will be the let's begin this all over again. In my attempt to follow a video and thinking  ...key word thinking... that I was doing it correctly, I was not and the result is shall we say really awful. What I think (that word again) is that my problem in part is the finish of each piece where I omitted a bead therefore causing the assembly to be wonky. I am a patient person...yes Glenda only when I am crafting I admit, and will just start over taking this apart. It is only thread and time. Speaking of Glenda she came by for tea and Pizzelles yesterday, taking a break for moving, She and Don will be moving across the way a street away. Glad to say she is feeling better. Sis Lynowl is also but not Lisa....so keep them in your thoughts.
Let's talk about my bunny. Yes he is back. He briefly visited his spot outside my bedroom window but it seems he is now preferring to come into the garden and rests in the grass area in the picture above  once he has skipped around to the various plants. A safe haven for him. I should get some laundry swishing and bed linens changed and …. but I think for now I will enjoy my coffee and Pizzelles and see if I can find a movie to watch. I can do that. Oh, and did you remember that The Brother Alan and Lisa are coming...just 10 days! Hate to rush off but my coffee is getting cool. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. Thank you most of all for your friendship.

Stitching, paint chips and spiders

I did find the info for the Twinkling Angel ornament...Just Cross Stitch Christmas issue from 2003. I know, 10 year old magazine? Yes...the designs are always lovely and I just love them all. Every year their issue is so full of great patterns and designers.
Mr H is busy this week updating our kitchen cabinet doors. So, I decided that I would like him to re-do the sewing/guest bedroom wall color. Paint swatches are tacked to the wall...now to make a decision.
Trying to see them in all the lights...daytime, night and in between. We have already eliminated several...so, it is down to ......
It will be 2 shades with a darker one for 1 wall and the remaining 3 in the lighter . I am leaning toward the plums or the taupe... I think. Mr H is so patient with me. Of course I dread taking down all the framed work, the shelves and this and that...... so is he.
Then there is my stitching. Yes, I stitch most everyday. Sometimes a little of tatting and cross stitch. I never run out of projects at the ready. Here is the beginning of the tatted icicle...
this is the base that will then have beads ..... doesn't look like much. With all the beads I have, of course I do not have any for this, so I will make a trip to the bead store after work on Saturday. It is not far from Jo Ann's which is very convenient. My goal is to have this done this weekend.
 Then there is my feather...
I am not fond of stitching with 3 strands of thread...but I do see that in this case it is necessary. See the dark brown area? there are 4 shades mixed in there! I know how I want it to finish, and I am hoping that it does....I love Southwest designs. This could be finished next week, or not...
Remember my spiders last year? Well, I do keep one specially for the Christmas tree, and then there are the ones that are with me all year....
There are now with the Faeries and pumpkins on the mantle crawling on the leaf dish. It was my pleasure last year to send some spiders and their story out for Christmas.... and I sent Reindeer food to blogger children too.  Interested? let me know.
That about covers me today.... the wash is ready for the dryer, I need breakfast and the newspaper...... work today..... I will be training a new gal for the cut counter..... and it looks to be another very busy day. Great sales/coupons this week. Have you visited your Jo Ann's this week? Glad to have you visit with me as always. Thank you for your kind words.  I appreciate the time you take to let me know so very much. Have a wonderful day.

Lovely gifts and a bit of Christmas

This is the earliest I have ever put up decorations! Mr H helped me take down from storage all the Christmas stuff yesterday and by 4 AM today, the snowman are sitting in their places, the Autumn centerpiece is now Christmas, the Angels are on the shelves and the Kitchen tree is up with it's own gold spider.  Our small village is displayed on the mantle this year. Oh and the postman this week has brought some lovely xchanges....
I had a private exchange with Angela  from Hooked on Stitches and Elsia from Old Ragged Threads, and  June  from Butterfly Wings chose me to receive one of her creations. My Ziz Tree is up in the kitchen and of course it has a spider. I did mail out several spiders and hope they make it to their own trees too. Just look how lovely my gifts are! Thank you ladies for you creations. They will hang on my Ziz Tree this year.
Remember the Sun Dried Bread...don't know what went wrong, but I had to trash it... I will try it again, just not yet. I had planned to make bread this morning but I just got too busy with other things! Work today, so the decorations will have to wait until this weekend..... unless I have nothing better to do tomorrow morning at 3 or 4 AM! My BBD exchange has been received by Linda and I have sent my SSCS and Reindeer food to some sweet children. Moms...please remember to sweep up most of the food before the kids wake on Christmas morning. That's about it today my friends....thanks for sharing some time with me. Thank you for the kind words and emails.... have a wonderful day.
