A bloom for Elizabeth

Spent time stitching yesterday.....
more to go, but so far so good. This is the piece of 28 ct that I dyed and I am pleased with the stitching on it. Even though I bought this design because I liked it, I wasn't sure I would like to stitch in one color especially white. We get into the track of doing the same type of stitching sometimes and never try anything else. Glad Mr H saw this at The Attic on display. Oh I must tell you....Vicki left a comment and thought from my posting about The Attic and reading that I lived in Arizona.... well one email led to another and we live about 5 minutes from one another! A small world after all! She shops at Jo Ann's (doesn't everyone) and thought my photo of me on the blog looked familiar.....hope her next visit to JAS I am there so we can really say hello. I love our blog friendships. I also spent time with Elizabeth....

bloom and leaves.... I plan.... key word plan, to continue working the design on each row as I go along. There is the thistle and small border and the bloom row. Most of you would probably do one row at a time, right? I just want to see it come alive as I go. Also, it will hopefully allow for accuracy in counting. At this point I have stitched with all the colors...looking mighty pretty. Again, I am in no hurry to stitch this. Actually I am never in a rush with my stitching. I enjoy the projects too much to rush with them. I have been thinking about which ornaments for Christmas I want to stitch. That in itself is pleasant, spending time going over each Christmas magazine in my files..... changing my mind each time. Isn't that what we do?! It is hard sometimes to think about Christmas stitching when the temps are in the triple digits. I really do not do much Halloween/Fall designs unless it is or an exchange. Is anyone interested in doing a Halloween exchange? You know, Trick and Treat. Well, my friends it is time to have that second cup of coffee and bring in the newspaper. So glad we had time to visit. Thank you for stopping by. Oh remember the note? still have no clue! Have a good day.

Delicious threads

Hi Gracie.  Your name was drawn as the owner of my threads!  Please send your address and I will get them in the mail Monday.  Hope you enjoy them!!
How happy this email made me...I put my name in the draw at Marley's blog . and I won!

I love visiting with her and you will too....lovely stitching. The colors are lovely...like Raspberry Sherbert, Flame, Evergreen, Cranberry, Cherry and Sage...just to name a few.  A dozen in all...my lucky day! I finished the a on Amazing Grace and almost completed the r.My hands are still feeling really dry so I am not sure if I will be working with Elizabeth today. Lu, are you following all this?! Let me explain: Lu is my forever sidekick back in Rhode Island. We worked together during my last years there in a doctors office, side by side. By the end of our first week, we became sisters.... true friends. Lu telephoned me last night..... we chat like we are still together, well we are in our hearts. We have laughed, we have cried and we have shared secrets. She reads my blog and admitted to me last night that as she does not do any of these things, she gets lost in the posts! Sometimes you just know that a person will always be in your life forever, a true friend, a sister..... that's my Lu. I am so lucky!  Well now, it is time to get to do some laundry and bake that Banana Cream pie that I did not get to do yesterday. With the temps and humidity so hot, it is best to do baking early and this is early. I think I need a Pop-tart too.....glad you stopped by and we chatted today. Have a wonderful day.

PS/ I just found a note on the desk; mag shirt finger mud.....do you know what this is? I sure don't. Guess I best toss it out so it does not drive me crazy trying to figure it out. Note to myself: write complete sentences with all notes to self.

Strawberries complete

I really did intend to coffee dye only one of the strawberries..... but I liked the one I did so I did the other too....
I fussed with this and that but in the end, I went with my first plan. I also dipped the cords and the caps. It is so hard to see, but one of them is a little darker than the other. If you look at the picture with the floss, it may be possible to see the difference in the brightness of the colors. I may still add some distressing to them...thinking about it.  I am so pleased with them and will probably make a few more. Only one will be staying with me. I added lavender seeds to them and it is a faint scent that comes through as I mixed it with the fiberfill. Love lavender but sometimes it can be over powering. I began to work on Amazing Grace late yesterday and hope to have something to show you soon. My plans today? Well, first a doctor appointment for Mr H and then I will  bake a banana cream pie. I do not think I can work on Elizabeth as I have a few dry spots on my hands and do not want to catch on the silk threads. Loads of lotion to be applied. Thank you for the kind words...they always brighten my day. Hope you have a wonderful day.....
sitting pretty.....

Rainy day

Another wind, thunder , rain and lightening evening (last ) and the drizzle continues today. Perfect weather for stitching.....
The temps have cooled down so it really is nice out even without the hot sun. I remembered to pick up the needed floss yesterday so I can get the strawberry finished today. It seems Jo Ann's is not carrying emery sand anymore...who knew?! So, I will finish it with just the usual stuffing.... no big deal. Wait a minute, be right back....hearing the sounds of doors closing.....
Had to say goodbye to our next door neighbor Louise...she is leaving today for a few weeks much needed rest with her daughter. Lovely lady.....
Anyway, I have only a couple of rows left and then a coffee bath awaits for one of them. This will be the first time I dye after I stitched. We shall see how it turns out. I thought trying it on a small work is better than a big piece. Time to get back to the strawberry....glad we visited today. Seems I have a few new friends here...welcome. The numbers go up/down and not everyone has the reply on for their emails. Hope you all have a grand day.

After the rain

I really enjoyed the comments left about the postal service. Sorry, but it makes me happy that I am not the only one who has issues! No sooner had I complained to you yesterday....first I received an email from Lynda Ruth letting me know she recieved my Round Robin piece and asked if IO had gotten hers yet....I answered no. Then the mail arrived...her RR piece was in my mail box....
I have asked my partners to stitch flowers for me...and look at what she sent...I do need a new calendar book and it is a 2 yer kind which I always use and I love the chunky pen...love pens. So, the mail came through just fine..... still waiting to see if my partner Hannah in Ireland received her package yet....
Last evening we had another rain storm. The rain and wind was actually loud enough to wake me at 1:30 am.... going to be a long day.... now we have a cloudy but very warm morning with the chance of rain later. Hopefully it will wait until I am home from work...do not like driving in rain out here. I was happily stitching strawberry #2 until I ran out of #3722...will get it today at work.  I plan to coffee dye one of them and leave one as is. Speaking f coffee, I think another cup is what I need right now. Thank you for the wonderful comments yesterday and I think we have a new club----The Postal Club! Have a grand day.

Slow start to my day

Oh I know, it's Monday what do you expect. I slept well, had some toast with my coffee, feel warm even thought the air conditioner is on. The day of the week is not the issue, it is just me.....slow and lazy.... kind of like the mail lately. Some things arrive before you can blink and then other items take forever. The Postal clerk told me it is that our mail delivery system is so good that when I send to other counties, it gets there fast. When other countries send to us, they are slow. Well, that is not exactly true. I have received mail from far away places rather quickly at times. There are some things that will never change and the mail delivery is one of them. One day my mail delivery is in the morning and then another day late in the day. They tell me it depends on who is on the truck?! And how about that mail person who dumped all her mail deliveries in the dumpster last week? Let's not go there! I have been stitching.....on Elizabeth I have her outside border complete; on my strawberry pin cushion, I started a second one on the same linen piece; and I have been doing  I do not know what else. My last post about cording seemed to gather comments. My advice is to leave that mixer right where it is. My poor finger is still very sore. I have made a few more because I need them soon by hand because the tool did not arrive yet...there again is the mail issue. We had some excitement on Friday afternoon....
no, I did not hose down the yard...it rained for about ten minutes!
Look closely and you can see the steady drizzle falling. As soon as it stopped raining, the sun came out and everything was back to normal.....dry and hot. We sat out on the lanai while it rained.... entertainment.
I think that about covers it for today...blah blah blah feeling..... think I shall visit with some of you for inspiration. Glad you did stop by today. Have a great day.....
