TUSAL day

Just look at the trail of color from the butterflies .... speaking of them, the 3rd one is almost finished but I did not take a picture. I will post tomorrow. Do you like my bathrobe cutie ... Mr H bought her for me a very long time ago when I had foot surgery. I will post a better picture of her soon...she is wearing fluffy rabbit slippers.... so cute.
I am in a bustle of a day when I had hoped it would be relaxing. Did manage to get my blood drawn without incident this time.
For those of you who were in the hurricane's path ... I hope you are all doing okay. My family back in Rhode Island is still without electricity ... but managing ... except for sis Lyn who is lost without her morning coffee.
Thanks for stopping by today....

Yesterday and Today----

If the sun never shines again....
Hold fireflies in your hands to keep warm.

If I have not told you yet---I am very specious. Oh I don't care about ladders and black cats.....it's the feelings that I get or dreams. I am named for my maternal grandmother whom I never got to meet as she died young. Grandma Gracia ( Italian for Grace) was very very superstitious and my grandpa used to say that I was very much her. Anyway....remember the opening of my post yesterday? Well, it was busy at work...I worked until 5:15 only to find that my PT would not start..the temp was 104 out..dead battery...call to Mr H who called on Tony ( Ziz'z other half) who came to jump the car. The battery is not quite a year old. Here in Arizona the heat takes a tole on car batteries and tires. So, Mr H is off to Auto Zone to have it checked out.....it did start this morning but can not trust that. Glad yesterday is gone-----
On to good things.....
TUSAL is getting full.....a little stuff it down should do the trick.
I have the bottom of my pincushion almost finished....
I have worked the variegated color so I have more Burgundy than red.....but I do want some red. I am already thinking of the next one and the colors I will use!
I am off to work this afternoon....so nice to have you stop and chat....have a great day.

Almost forgot....TUSAL day

So much going on...I almost forgot to post my TUSAL
It needs to be pushed down a bit....the blue is from my exchange...as is the green. The other threads are from my biscornu....you know...each thread Fred helped most eagerly to pull out!
Thank you for all the kind thoughts about the a/c....it is fixed. It was 94 out when the man arrived and 90 inside the house. The air ran from 11 AM until 3PM and got the temp inside down to 84. It was a long hot day.....but then it was 113 outside. Just glad to have it working again. I guess next year may be the replacement year.....or the one following at least. I have been stitching away on my exchange as well as my biscornu. It is too boring to post the biscornu, as I said, it is just a repeat of the first side. Most likely it will be ready to stitch together over the weekend. I have mailed the package to Denise.
I had a nice day today. Dear Ziz and I went to lunch at Fern's. Always good to spend time with friends. And it is always nice to have you visit with me. I hope your day was pleasant....see you tomorrow.

New month---new moon = Tusal and a tomato

First let's talk about the coyote---that's right. It seems there is a young coyote who visits in the morning as he did again today around 8:15 while I was out with Zoe. I kept her behind the hedge and he looked but then continued. Zoe? she was oblivious as usual when we encounter a coyote.
On to the tomato-----I never said they were going to be big ones.
They are the size of the cherry type and oh so delicious. I have now picked 4. Unfortunately they are not all ready at the same time.
It is TUSAL day---and Dopey and the silver cat along with Elyssa are on display. Yes, the same Elyssa who just turned 18. The Dopey and cat as well as the water picture were a gift from her when we left RI. And here they sit on my computer so I can see her everyday. Topping off the Tusal jar re threads from Dragonfly....I am almost finished with it...if you would like to see, follow me to my other place. I am happy to have your visit...enjoy your day.

TUSAL and ,,,,,

First, where did the hours in this day go????
my TUSAL for May...
a bit of glare...but here it is.
I have been busy today, but not sure with what?! Now yesterday....off to the doctor in the afternoon. I have been having lots of nosebleeds. My blood pressure is high....I do take 2 meds...what next? I did finish a book I was reading.
I finished the front of the small project I have been stitching...

I really like this. Next is to stitch the back side. I did work on my challenge piece and will post that tomorrow.
My dear friend Ziz did join me for a Wild Hibiscus cocktail yesterday and we relaxed out on the front swing.
It is  nice to have you visit....I hope you have a wonderful day.

TUSAL, a sunset and it's Sunday

Think it is time to empty the mason jar....
Guinevere said it is just to heavy! I will put some out for nesting .
I always tell Mr H that living here in Arizona, I feel like I am on vacation. I feel as though I have always lived here.....hard for my family back East to understand, but it is true. I am in awe of the sunsets....sunsets I never tire of...
This was what we saw from out our front door...in the courtyard....bright orange..deep yellow and violet grey clouds.....I am in awe.....today is beginning cool and sunny and cloudy at the same time. It will be good sitting outside weather to stitch.
Just look at what is in bloom outside my front door...
Bottle Brush Tree.....as you can see, looking up into it, it is quite tall.
I have some hand sewing to finish today....no challenge update but will have some for tomorrow.
It was wonderful to have you visit with me...{{hugs}} to you all...have a great day.

New Moon...full TUSAL

I think it is time to pull out the thread....
Well....maybe push it down a bit. I almost forgot to post it! With Mr H feeling ill, me, still trying to ease out the aches and pains form last weeks fall, work today and HOA meeting tonight...no wonder I am tired and almost...just almost forgot to post this...but I did remember....now, I think I need to stretch out and catch some Sherlock Holmes on TV....tomorrow is another day.

TUSAL...

I love to see all the colors and threads I have been working with....
seems to be lots in there...some from Fred and just bits and pieces I trim off. I do not stitch to the very end of my thread...I usually cut the last 2 inches off...how about you? Do you use every inch? Well, I will push it down as I go and keep adding to the mason jar....
I thought I would show one of my tea cups and tea pot and one of my gloves. The ladies pocket watch is quite old.
Stop back later to see who wins my birthday un-birthday drawing......
Speaking of drawings...Cat is having one, so visit and check it out.
I have an update, so I will meet you at my other place....
I will be working for a bit today, but I will visit with you later.....glad you stopped by.

Another Tuesday

For Today

Outside my window
the light has just broken the skyline

I am thinking
how delicious the pepper stick is that I am eating

From the kitchen
the smell of fresh brewed coffee

I am wearing
my blue robe

One of my favorite things
watching the birds come to the feeder

Around the house
I hear the ticking of the clock

Plans for the day
to stitch stitch stitch

From my camera's eye

how pretty my African Violet is in full bloom

I am wishing
a good day to all

It is TUSAL day~~~
It was time to empty and start anew. Look at all the red threads....they are from the Winter Exchange I am doing..almost complete.

Well, I am heading over to the Crazy blog to post progress and Day 4 start...meet you there.

TUSAL and ~~~~~

My snowman is holding on to all the threads that are popping out! Look at all the red and green..
Wanted to show you my beaded Santa pin...it was from a Mill Hill kit done on perferated paper.
I love my Santa Key...I hang it out on Christmas Eve even though there are no young children here with Dennis amd me. Here is the poem that came with it:
A Key for Santa
If a house has no chimney for Santa to come in,
or if the chimney's too small (since Santa's not thin!)
There's nothing to worry about because Santa can see
how to get inside if you leave him a key!

~~~~~~~~~~
Now
I was able to purchase another of the DMC Stitch Pink Needlework Accessory Kits....(a portion of the proceeds go to breast cancer research). They were a Limited Edition product. I would like to give it away...if you are wanting this kit....leave a message on this post and I will draw for it on January 1st. That's all...no catches...if you would like to mention it on your blog, that's fine. It contains a pink scissor, 28 floss bobbins, pink needle threader and is in a pink plastic zip pouch. There are few patterns inclosed.
TUSAL
My mason jar is starting to overflow....I suppose I could squish down the threads...I just finished an ornament and it was all the greys and teal that you see...but the wine threads are the new project just begun. I have been having lots of enjoyable stitiching moments!
TUSAL
~~~~I have been saving these beautiful tidbits forever...eventually some of them end up in our Hummingbird's nest and the finches' nests.....I love to share! This old Mason jar has had many uses over the last 40 years....it's last use was in 1985...it was filled with wild mushrooms that my dad had picked in the woods and the last jar that I got from dad. Dad died in December of 1985 and I have not had the taste of wild mushrooms since. Every time I add a snip to this jar, I think of those tasty button mushrooms.
