A day late but a winner~

I know, I said the winner would be drawn on Sunday...it was... but time got in my way. It was a gorgeous day so Mr H and I took a ride to The Turf Soaring School to check out the glider rides. You see, my kid brother Alan is coming out in 23 days who's counting and he and Mr H are going for a glider ride.
This is one of the gliders......you soar at 3000 or 4000 or even 5000 feet after being towed by a small plane.....
You can even choose to do Aerobatic soaring! A young guy was in this plane being brought up to about 4000 feet for just that. It was amazing to watch the turns and loops. While we were there, a private pilot flew over doing the most scary but fascinating stunt flying. I would have lost my stomach with the first dive!
I managed to get the first flower motif finished on my BBD..
I think I am beginning to like the color. I found a piece of fabric to back it with although that may change once it is completed. I am working on another cigar box...only this time the box will remain the star. Just looking for the right fabric to line it with.

What? Oh, you want to know where the Tending the Blooms pattern is going next? Well....
I tossed the names into my little picnic basket and when I reached in....out came......
                                                                                         Daffycat!
So there you are.....thanks for tossing your name into the mix...be sure to follow it now to
It's Daffycat for the next time it is ready to travel.
I am off this morning to our monthly group...Sun Stitchers..... whatever your plans for the day are...I do hope you have a great day. So happy that you took time to stop by. I am a bit behind on responding to your comments...sorry....I will get back in the groove ....seems time is in the way lately.

How exciting....Zoe will be hosting....with my help of course the famous~~~~ Madame Muriel.
We are not sure of her arrival date but we are making plans. I have informed Mr H....still awaiting a response, but you know men.....I will update as soon as I know she has booked her flight.
I have been gathering some extras to send along with the Travelling Pattern
~~Tending The Blooms
You still have time to sign up for the chance to stitch this quick and delightful pattern. I will draw on Sunday March 25th. I will putting the final touches on mine later today and will post tomorrow.

I did manage to stitch a little on my BBD.... I have not posted because, well, there is little enough on it and I thought I would get it further along...but no. Instead I just remained lazy yesterday. Mr H and I watched some Netflix.... we enjoy watching the British mysteries. Today there is a morning doctor's appointment for Mr H then my day is free. I started to go through my Blog address book so I can plan a few mailings....so you may get a request from me for snail posting.... or you could just send me an email if you are inclined to!
Welcome to a few new friends who have been stopping by. As always thank you for your emails and kind comments. I love finding your blogs. Have a wonderful day in whatever you do.

A finish and a pattern is ready to travel

I am so pleased with my Penny Rug Mat...
The little candy dish is one I have had since I am married..... almost 42 years. A cousin of Mr H gave it to me. It is from Italy and is very old. The elderly gentleman who gave it to the cousin brought it from Italy when he immigrated to the USA.
It really was a fun project and easy too. I am already planning my next one. Just have to decide on colors for it. It is a pattern I bought at Jo Ann's that has flower appliques.
Now, I am happy to say tha the SB Travelling Pattern is ready to move on.

I am still decideing on the fabric for the backing... I plan on a small pillow. Lee  sent suggested threads in DMC. I will be sending that as well as my changes... you know I just had to make a few color changes. I decide to use a tea dyed 32 ct from my linen stash and also stitched with double thread instead of the single.
It is such a sweet design and quick too.

Lee sent a little bee for me to add.....I will be sending a little something to the next person to add. So...... If you want to stitch this cute design, leave a note on this post and I will draw a name on Sunday the 25th....

We had a bit of rain over night... not enough to make a real difference, but welcomed anyway. I love the sound of the rain.... the sun is just now popping out, but I would not mind a little more rain. I know the plants love it and Mr H does not have to water them. I worked a full 4 days this past week...I am tired. I really like the 3-3 day weeks, but sales sales sales = busy busy busy. Today a quick drive to the market and then some reading and stitching on my BBD. I am so pleased we shared some time together.... I will stop by soon to visit with you. Thank you for the kind words and emails.... have a wonderful day.

An the Travelling Pattern is off to----

It was 8 pm last night that I realized it was not Tuesday, that it was Wednesday! Now today is Thursday---right?

My Geek Agent Chris and I accomplished a lot yesterday. We also discovered that my 3 year old printer was not working because the print head was bad. For the $$ to replace it he suggested a new printer. Mr H left the room~~~~! Soooooo---- later in the day off to Best Buy went went and came  home with a new printer. Now I started all over with uninstall the old....install the new....default....test print.... it works! Mr H is still shaking his head. I now have a completely new computer set up---except for the monitor. Luckily, there is nothing wrong with it. That should put Mr H wallet away.

What's with Blogger today? or is it just me. Yesterday I was able to reply to comments right from the comment box....today I have to go to the dashboard and then comments to reply!! If anyone knows a solution please let me know. And, while I was there, I found 3 who always comment in the spam file! It's a conspiracy!

Oh that's right... you want to know about the TP....from the paper bag came the name-----Mouse...so be sure to follow the pattern there and watch for when it is ready for the next journey. I am sure Michelle will get it back on it's way without much delay. It really is a nice piece to stitch.

The sun has finally decided to come out and stay. Remember the other day when I said a chance of rain? Well, there was only warm sunshine. We will always be in drought conditions! I am very happy to have shared my time with you..... have a wonderful day.

I was lost but here I am again!

Late Friday, my computer went down. The computer Sprites must have heard Mr H say we would be getting a new one this Spring. Guess they became impatient, cause out to Best Buy we went on Friday night! that is when everything went to  the frustration file. The Geek Squad said they would download all my info from the old for the new. Did you think it meant they would then upload it into the new one? they kept the new and the old and then informed me on Sunday that I would just insert the 3 discs and it would be that simple! Well let me tell you~~~~~~I spent from 2pm until 6:30 when it finally was up and running. Finally was on line with tech support and he "took" over the mouse and helped me get it going.
Now, hear me.... I do not plan on another new one for some time, but I will have the Squad come to set it up...worth paying someone to keep those Sprites at bay!
Did I mention they did not retrieve my email addresses????? So, I had some written  down, but so many are out there in la la land. I guess I will nab them when someone sends to me.

In the meantime I would like to share something with you. I have had these 2 pieces of mail over 20 years now....

I have tried to block the names...but they are recorded messages from a soldier to a loved one. Look at the post mark~~~~  August of 1943 and the postage was only 3 cents!!!! I would love to know what is on both of them---- wouldn't you?

I started a small beaded doll...pictures tomorrow..... and my mom loved the beaded ornament I sent her.
About the Travelling Pattern, I will continue to leave it open until this weekend then pick a destination....so you still have time to let me know.

I need a gallon of coffee....still have to download a few things but I am frazzled right now.... later, much later. I am so glad I had this chance to vent with you...thank you. Hope your day is wonderful.

The sheep is ready to travel and a bump on my head

Just where did this week go? So much to share......
First let me tell you about a mishap--- yesterday afternoon after returning from errands, as I was pulling down the hatch on our PT Cruiser I did not move out of danger! The corner of the hatch hit me right over my right eyebrow..... stars, I saw stars! Now I can be out of sorts without something like this happening! I do not need help! And there  was Mr H .... with "you should watch that!" What a novel idea!

Okay, on to better things. Sandra and I meet for bagels yesterday. I brought her a Quiltie square. I did not have the time to do her Christmas exchange, but I did make one for her.
remember the lovely Christmas Butterfly fabric? I embellished it with tiny gold beads and some glitter.
Sandra gave me...

Isn't he so cute and his own light bulb!

I finished the Travelling Pattern~~~~ Thankful for Ewe. The tale of this pattern: first Tricia stitched it and offered it to travel....it went to CalamityJr (aka Mary Jane) and then it  was lost with another stitcher until CalamityJr was able to get it back and sent it on to me. Well, here is my version

I stitched it on a mystery R & R linen from my fabric draw..... 23ct . I listed the threads that I used with the pattern.  I used Whisper for the sheep ... isn't she cute and fluffy!
So~~~ if you are interested in being next~~~~and adding your touch to this quick stitch......
       1. must have an active blog
       2. willing to stitch it now and pass it on
send me an email... look to my side bar... and I will get it in the mail to one of you asap.

Moving along-----I played with the beads again
An Indian Maiden..... not sure of it will be on a necklace or a pin.... any suggestions?

Although I did not join the  Crazy 2012 group, I do have a plan... well, I have been thinking. I want to finish up some projects that seem to be hiding in the craft closet. Why they do not want to join the real world is beyond me. So, I will force them out! they will be finished! I will also add in a few new ones.... well, I did buy them or received them and they will not be ignored! I plan to make myself available to whatever is in the closet... this could be scarey. I have no idea of what I may find.

I need to take something for this PT hatch headache... and a cup of coffee with some toast might help. Glad you took some time to stop by... and thank you for the wonderful comments..... enjoy your day.
