Omyiage girls

Hello friends. Hope all is well with you. the changing weather, the winds and dust in the air are causing so many issues around here. The Brother Alan's allergies are acting up.... Lisa has had a few issues too. Me?, well mild headaches that thankfully clear by late morning. The AC is now on and I really do not think the heat cycle will return. Remember Hank the fish...

I picked him out because of his black markings. Well, it seems that is now gone

Hank is now all gold . I Googled goldfishes and many do change colors as they age. I do remember the gold fish Dennis had in the pond...they did change color too.
Dianna and Marissa sent me photoss of the Omyiage dolls I made for them, The one on the left is Dianna's and the other is Marissa's. Since we were arriving in Vegas on Easter Sunday, I put together a simple goodies bag. the dolls held candy as did the bag they were in.I enjoy making fabric origami.

This is  called Sakura. To me it resembles a Lotus flower. It has a small draw string pouch in the back. Fun to make and give away.

When plans were being made for Vegas, Dianna told me about the M & M store...all 4 floors of it. Lisa loves peanut M & Ms so

of course she has to have her own dispenser and purple and lavender (her fav color) fills it. Now of course when they are gone, she will have multi-color candy. I also like M & Ms so I got a glass

I filled mine with multi-colors. The store has so many products. The best is 2nd floor where the candy is

Amazing wall ...all sorted by color and type. Children (adults too) stare in awe and then rush to chose and fill their bag. Scales are provided to weigh. What fun! My next project.... well, at the moment I am still trying to decide. so much I want to do! Today is a lazy day for all of us here. Make your day a relaxing one too.Good to chat with you.

Thank you for your kind words and thank you for your friendship.

My Day

Goodness, time seems to have slipped away from me. While I have been among the missing, I managed to finish the flower quilt squares. I finally found the fabric for the backing squares and now to cut them as well as the flannel that will be in between front and back fabrics instead of batting, Update on Hank...he has adjusted well to living alone. He started with waking around 4am and spitting the pebbles in the bowl against the glass which makes a pin sound and of course wakes me. He is quiet during the day and hopefully will start to be quiet at night.

Yesterday was My Day...my birthday. The new number is 76... I know, sounds strange for me to say it.  The other afternoon I sat and thought about all that has been during these years. Some sad, some uncomfortable to mention. There have been many more wonderful days thanks to Dennis. This year will mark 6 years.... another number. I received some lovely cards and birthday wishes and candy and flowers and a delicious edible arrangement and out for lunch with Dianna and Bobby. Alan and Lisa and I are going out for dinner on Monday evening. All in all it has been a lovely celebration. So nice to feel loved. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. Most of all, thank you for your continued friendship. Quilt pictures next time around!

Hello Hank

Goodness we have been having rain here in The Valley.... today the sun is bright and the wind is picking up speed. Glad to be inside sewing. The flowers quilt is progressing. Did I mention that there will be a second quilt from the cut pieces?

Once each petal is sewn the back is trimmed to eliminate bulk that gives a smaller shape of what was just sewn.
Of course it will be smaller and I will need to add a backing to each flower. Fun! Trimming the back has gotten easier since I purchased applique scissors. I am still debating whether to sew each block together by hand as it is how they are sewn now or to machine sew them.
Who is Hank you are wondering. Well he is a goldfish that is now living with me. His home (bowl) sits right behind me in my sewing corner. Murphy lost interest once it went into the bowl. He can not see it or reach it so that may explain it. Hank is quite handsome; orange with a black stripe along his back. I gave him a sea shell to hide behind and grass also. I know, why....just because.

I should report that my hand and knee are healing from recent fall. At this point the hand is still sore and the deep loss of skin is very sensitive. I will be calling the trainer the end of this week to set up sessions. Just need to heal a little more.  It certainly is nice to chat with you. Thank you for your kind words and words of encouragement. Thank you for your friendship.
