Slow morning

Seems like I have more of these slow starts. I really do not mind as I have no plans. I am housebound waiting for the UPS furniture delivery that says "by end of day" on my tracking. Another overcast start to the day. The sun finally appeared in the sky yesterday and I guess it will today. Some of Arizona is getting rain but probably not me.
I really enjoyed my dinner last evening...but...
when I was draining my Vermi8celli I poured some of the boiling water on my finger...I hate my strainer and it will be replace with one that free stands rather than me holding it. Of course the pharmacy was already closed. I began to hold it in iced water on/off for a couple of hours even while I ate! Then some Bacitracin and finally it feels much better today. Still sore and stiff but not blistered.
Earlier yesterday I worked on my denim feathers....
Each of them is from Denny's jeans... for now they are hanging from the branch in the picture... not sure where they will go.
There were easy to do, that is when I finally used a pair of tweezers to help pull all the threads. I also glued the twine after I had them fringed. A bit of Denny in the air.....
When the cloud cover is thick as it is this  morning, the jets fly so low and they are quite loud. As they fly overhead you can make out lots of jet  detail...
I hope to start another Santa Star this weekend....just in case one needs to go someplace..... I also need to make another solid and a rose, and.... you get the picture. I just need to bead this weekend. With waiting for the delivery today and attempting to assemble this weekend, I will find the time. Right now is wash the kitchen floor time and walk the Bissell around the house. Off I go. Thank you for taking time to visit and thank you for your kind words. Most of all thank you for your friendship.
Special "thinking of you" to The Brother Alan....I was having a mini meltdown the other afternoon and of course he was right there available to get me through it. He is a keeper!

Where is he?

Terrible sleep...actually very little sleep is what I should say. It will be a very long day. We seem to be having a partly cloudy start to the day. I must say thank you to Bobby and Dianna for removing the kitchen cupboard...always ready to help. And Bobby did not even need to use a step stool! I need to patch the screw holes, but we are ready for the new fridge...when we get it. Goodness, that will be in a couple of weeks.
I had to take apart the second feather I was beading....was not happy with the bead placement and lack of whatever. I think I will do something else while I try to figure out the pattern. Right now I am too tired to think about that. Clothes are swishing and I need a coffee refill.

I must fill a missing bunny report. The Posse is out looking ….Yes, the bunny has not been to his resting spot for 2 days....not once. So, there are no signs of foul play but I will say I am concerned. I just do not know where he could be. His spot remains dug out and waiting. I probably should not count yesterday as it was landscaping day and there are never any bunnies out when they are here making noise. But still, I will watch for him today.
I would like a nap but I have things to do before my 1 PM appointment today. Definitely need that coffee. It is always a pleasure to have you stop by but I must get that coffee and maybe an English muffin for energy. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.

Oooh Bunny and a feather

I must remember when I clean the ceiling fan blades in the kitchen not to switch off the main switch to the fan. I cleaned it yesterday after talking with sis Lynowl about the fact we both had to clean our fans. This morning the kitchen fan would not work. Try as I may I could not get the fan or the light to come on. Then it dawned on me to check the main switch and sure enough I had turn that off. Mind you, I have cleaned this fan several times in the year since Denny has not been here to do it and this was the first time I did that. The other 3 fans do not have this particular switch so that is good. This kitchen fan has several different on/off tabs and I do not know why.
I have been watching....
this baby bunny...ooh he is so adorable! This is the depression that he has made outside my bedroom window under the huge Yucca plant. Did you know the Spanish pronoun it "you-ka". Anyway, he is tiny, probably only 8 inches from nose to tail. Huge black shiny eyes. My worry is that if a coyote comes along there is no escape route for him as this spot is a "u" shape space and only 5 feet wide. Only out is forward, so I try to check on him periodically just in case I need to run out to make a rescue. Think I better find the stick Dennis used to keep at the front door first!
Well, I worked on the beaded feather.
I do like it but it is not as the picture and I followed the graph pretty carefully. I do know that I did not start it as in the directions as I mentioned before Zina and I were not sure how to do it that way and make the count come out correctly. Even the shape of mine which matches the diagram is not like the picture! I will make this again to see if I can figure it out better, but all in all it is not bad looking. It measures about 2 inches long.
Plans for today...none. I am taking the day off. What I mean is, no laundry, no Bissell walking or Swiffer in hand. A me day....
Yesterday I decided to move the stereo system. To my surprise it fit where I wanted it to go and when I re-connected it...it worked! Part one of a few moving parts. Can not work out in the garden so I find work inside. The next few moves require planning and larger items...not rushing to get it done, at least not today. Still thinking if I do this then I would do that then I could...well, you know how it goes. It is still dark out and so quiet.... I can not check on the bunny who I will assume goes back to his hutch beneath the large Prickly Pear Cacti once it is dark out. It is so nice to chat with you...thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by... thank you most of all for your friendship.

And just like that.....

The week is at it's end just like that. Seems the days get lost and time just keeps moving ahead. Today is beginning cloudy again and cooler. The weather is suppose to be in the 70s all week but ending near 90 on Friday. Crazy temps..... lots of clouds but it is okay.
This is the new Dove couple that has been hanging around. Never see them except early morning and early evening. Guess they are still deciding whether to move in  or not. In the next day or two I will check the nest area.
I forgot to show you my Guardian Angel Bell

It hangs off the zipper of my handbag and tingles as I walk. My companion is the Garden Gnome. It is from the same company that the Buoy Bell is from. I plan on getting a few to give as gifts.
I sat outside having tea with Glenda yesterday. She and Don are truly dear friends..... I would be lost without them. these past  months have been made easier with their caring friendship.
I was out on the lanai most of the day reading.....
I am enjoying the Sherlock Holmes FAQ book. Leaning a lot about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The other is my diary... book 2 for me. I jot my thoughts daily in it. I started just after loosing Denny and it does help me cope most of the time. Did you notice the book mark? It is a piece of raw hide with some beads and a feather. I love feathers so this is perfect. When The Brother Alan Lisa and I went to the Botanical Garden I came across
a soft bright white tiny feather clinging to a branch. To me it was a sign that Denny was with us that day as he loved going to the garden.
"Feathers appear when Angels are near...
Coming across a feather in your path, or finding a feather in an unexpected place is thought to be a message from the Angels. White: this is the most common Angel feather, and is thought to be a sign of faith and protection."
Did I ever tell you that I am very superstitious?
Well I do not hear the tumble of the dryer so my laundry is waiting for me ....once again the Faeries are not around. I think I better start looking for them! Glad to chat with you today and share my thoughts and doings. Thank you for the kind words and for your friendship.

Finally a post

It certainly has been a busy week. Alan and Lisa left Tuesday morning and things are getting back to normal...or I should say almost back to normal. We enjoy shopping, and dining and of course taking care of some business. WE even had a party...of sorts. On Sunday  I had some friends over to meet Alan and to celebrate Dennis. Denny always said "When I die keep it simple. Put me in a cardboard box on the bookcase shelf. Have a party with friends and balloons and food. Keep it happy."
There were balloons, friends and food. He is in a beautiful Buffalo Ironwood box and on the fireplace mantle. These were the friends who have been by my side and supported me and Denny through our month long illness and passing. These are the friends who are still for me now. I am very grateful to know them.
One of the new items I found
This hand painted feather with a Kokopelli  ( pronounced coke-a-pellie)painted on it and animal fur....not sure what animal.  He is a trickster, often associated with fertility and also agriculture. I won't bomb bard you today with the other pictures of this and that. I will save them for during the week. Right now I must dash off as I have a doctor appointment shortly.
The house is quiet again.
Thank you for stopping by and for the kind words and for your friendship.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood

A lovely day is beginning. The temps are in the 70's and just barefoot weather..... at least for me. Mr H... not so. He is forever telling me to put something on my feet!

Just before Christmas while doing some last minute shopping, I bought this~~~
It is the Healing Feather....  made here in Arizona....not sure if you can read the card, so...
This adorned feather is decorated with cyrstals of Agate, Coral, Amethyst, Quartz nad Turquoise to aid in the physical and emothional recovery & healing process. It is not Native American made, but it is modeled after one. I just had to have it. I may just start a collection as they have others that are equally nice.

My plans for today? Well, stitch and more stitch. If I do get out I will stop at one of the bead shops to pick up some Delicas for a project. The beads that I did buy are too large.

Remember the strawberries? Yesterday I heard the call of a Northern Mockingbird in the yard and a short time later I went out to check on the plants and the rippened part was eaten! So, I am guessing it was him! I have a feeling I  am not going to get even 1 berry!
Hope you have a wonderful day. I am very glad to share some time with you.
