Thoughts and exchanges and a top finished

If the bus doesn't come.....
catch a fast cloud.

I reached for a needle this morning while at my sewing table.....and touched this pin which made me think of this shoe bell and then of course the boy it belonged to......
The baby is my son Eric and these treasures were his. I keep the diaper pin attached to my sewing machine cover...always in sight. How does one end up with only one pin and shoe bell when there were two??!! I was able to keep track of him with the bell on his shoes. And the diaper pin....you know where that went. He was 3 months old in the picture.......yes, he is going to be the dad of Devin. I am so grateful for memories...... "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes  a part of us."---Helen Keller
Elisa received my Summer Exchange piece....
It is BBD Summer Iris and stitched on suggested linen and threads. It travelled all the way to York UK rather quickly. I plan to make this one for myself soon.
I finished the Tulip Box Top....
Well almost.....
I think I will add a small motif next to my initial as it took up less space than the A that Alma stitched on the original. Maybe the date?
Well guess that is it for now.....off to work today. I am so pleased you had the time to visit with me. Thank you for all your comments and emails. Any opinion on what to add next to my G? Have a good day.

No stitching today......bruises instead!

If the light goes out.....
wear it around your neck and go dancing.

Oh I remembered to go get the lab work this morning.....did  it go well you may ask. No...the first arm stopped giving blood....next arm gave more than enough.....so bruised and sore in both elbows that stitching was not to be today.......just ice packs.
Check back tomorrow and I will guarantee progress on both the healing and stitching.
I can not wait for August to arrive. Hopefully it will be a better month for me.

What a week it has been.....

If the clock stops....
use your own hands to tell time.

Now you all know that I do not cook...Mr H does that. But--there are certain things that I do ...one is steaming rice. Well, I burnt my arm reaching over the steamer...ouch! and now we have  a 2 inch burn. Well last night I was cutting open my baked potato and a piece of potato wedged under my finger nail and now we have a blister. I am an accident waiting to happen at every turn lately. Did I mention that I woke at 2 am with an allergic reaction to the suntan block that Mr H bought! My face and neck and arms are blotchy and I feel awful. Just another issue to deal with these past 2 weeks......
But let me show you what I have stitched so far....better topic-----
So now this side is finished. Excuse the wavy stitching...I need to re-align it in the stretcher bars.
Two more flower motifs and a bird! This should be finished soon and then on to the other parts of the box design.
I am off to work today...not a pleasant thought with how I am feeling........
Glad you stopped to hear my tale of woe.....have a good day.

A Tulip planted and bloomed

If you lose the key....
throw away the house.

I really hoped it would be just cool enough to have my coffee out on the front porch...but no, it is not. I was suppose to go for lab work today......really I have had the order for a few weeks now! The problem is, that it is a fasting among other things and I just can not be up at 3 am and not have coffee and I also have a light early breakfast. I will be more disciplined and go first thing---the lab opens at 7 am-- on Friday.

My needle was busy. I am enjoying this project.....
It is moving along rather quickly. I should start thinking about the box lining fabric....I do have some print in my fabric draws. I am thinking of starting another BBD---a  pincushion for myself.....and it would probably be a good idea if I started a few gift items that I want to do. My eyes see more than my fingers can stitch!!!

Thank you for taking some time from your busy day to visit with me. I welcome your comments and emails. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Thunder---wind---rain and a new start

If you lose a memory....
embroider a new one.

Another storm last night. Some thunder but oh what a downpour! The wind was quite strong but we did not get the dust storm from the East Valley. There is always some dust making it a mud rain, but not bad this time. Mr H took down the 3 umbrellas in the yard. Oh we do not usually sit under theses umbrellas----they are to shade the garden plants! At least we do not sit out there in these hot summer months. We remembered to take down the hanging plants as well. All is calm now in the yard.

I started to stitch the BBD Tulip set.....
This will be the top of the box. Still haven't decided what color to paint/stain the box. No problem...plenty of time. I think I will wait until I complete the top. before deciding. I also need to pick up the Bee's wax from Ace. The book names Briwax but it is not available around here and the main ingredient is bee's wax, so that is what I will use.
It is always so nice to have you visit with me. I do enjoy your comments and emails........thank you my friend.
Hope your day is wonderful.

A new project started

If the birds forget their songs....
Listen to a pebble instead.

Well, first, Louise had her surgery to repair her hip and is doing well.....I am very friendly with her son and daughter, so I will be helping with he situation when I am needed. They do not live here in Arizona, but will be around for a bit. All the good wishes and thoughts have helped.

Now that my challenge pieces are finished, I decided to begin working on a BBD from A Stitcher's Journey....Tulip House Stitching Companion. I am trying to choose a color to paint/stain the box..... I am stitching on 30 ct WDW Parchment and the suggested GA threads. No pictures yet...just got it all set to go! I just want to stitch just about everything in this book!

We are having a partly cloudy day here in the West Valley of Arizona but the temps are expected to be around 108 today...92 right now......
I am so glad we got to spend some time together today. Thank you for the lovely comments and emails....have a nice day.

Good news and then some............

If you have butterflies in your stomach....ask them into your heart.
If your heart catches in your throat...ask a bird how she sings.

My needle has been busy. I have managed to finish stitching Nosegay....
On a more serious note....my sweet neighbor Louise has slipped and fallen and broken her hip. She is a very active 90 year old who is always baking something for Mr H. Every time he plants something out in our shared front yard, she send brownies or last time it was carrot cake. Her family just happened to be in town visiting. Please keep her in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

I am so glad it is Sunday and my work schedule has me off until Thursday. I really need this break. I know, you are thinking....she only works part time. Some days those part time hours feel like forever. Anyway...I am getting ready for my next project few projects. I already have everything in the ready.....and now some time too.

What? the Nosegay piece.....well, you will have to meet me at my other place and see for yourself. I just have to get a frame for it. Thank you all so very much for all the visits and comments.......I hope you have a wonderful day.
