Out to lunch and the Rabbit thing

Thursday I met up with Sherry, a coworker...yes I still think of the gals that way. She invited me for lunch. Before meeting at Applebee's I did a little shopping at Jo Ann's. While getting my prepackaged batting, a customer came up to me and commented that she hadn't seen me when she has been in...I explained my hand issue and she told me she missed me. She then said, "oh, you just gave me a white rabbit". Of course the look I must have given her! The explanation  is; on the first day of the month the very first thing you should say is----  White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit. This will bring you luck and something pleasant and totally unexpected will happen. Josephine said meeting up with me was both so I gave her a white rabbit! Did you ever hear of this??? Then around the corner came another lady who said she missed seeing me at the cut counter.....then another one appeared. It is ladies such as these that I miss. Very nice feeling. Sherry and I had a nice chat while we ate. Early this morning I began the stitch in the ditch for my wall hanging.

this is a first for me. I do not think it is easy...but I do not think it will look bad when I complete the other 3 sections.
Some of the supplies I purchased Thursday are for my next cross stitch project....

lots of colors, specialty Kreinik threads and ribbons. All set and ready for today. I will tell you more about "her" later. Oh and there will be feathers too. Of course while waiting in the queue I found a magazine...
Every so often I pick this publication up because it combines beading and cross stitch.  Do you see the ornament up in the left corner....I would love to make that. It does look complicated, but I think I can---I think I can....

Angel on the shelf

I am ready to work on my Star of the Orient wall hanging but need batting...

what I have is just a bit too heavy/thick so I will get a thinner type. I like the way it looks together. I will always look at it and think of my dear friend Beatrice. The fabrics are at least 35 years old. I have enough to make a few more squares but not enough to make a decent size so this will do.  Angel from Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2014...

finished except for the hanger which I will attach later. I use the curly gold or silver metal ones. or now she will sit in with the tea pot and cup. The design is by Giula Punti Antichi of Romy Creations. I love her designs. At first I was not liking the colors she chose but decided to do it anyway and now I am happy I did. Who says Christmas has to be green/red/gold and silver?  He saying is Be Happy. There are 11 bans of design and the design is just the front. I use plain muslin for the backing. I may do another with a different color scheme. I like band stitching. The day is starting very cloudy and a chance of monsoon storms for today and tomorrow here in Arizona. There have been several over the last week, most all during the evening and with damage here and there. I am still with a bit of cough but overall feeling better. I downloaded my digital JSC yesterday and found something to stitch. Hopefully I can get all the supplies together today...and hopefully I have what I need. A late start for my day

My goodness.... it is almost 3PM and I am finally out of bed. The reason is that these last few days, I have not felt. Guess I was not really over what I had last week. So, I know you know that I will say that I have done absolutely nothing today. I did wake earlier and did make a cup of coffee and opened the garage door to retrieve the newspaper....
just look at this gorgeous moon! It has been called The Children's Moon....did you ever hear of that? The reason I was told is that because children are in bed when it is dark, they do not get to say hello to the moon so it shows itself occasionally so they can. I love that tale.
Thank you for the lovely comments that I just got to reply to. I am ready to make the 4 remaining squares into a wall hanging. I think I have everything I need so maybe tomorrow I will start.
