A Happy Birthday....a baby shower and a headache

Today is my lovely niece Tonya's birthday...

Isn't she pretty. She is the daughter of sis Lyn. I miss seeing her and love when we get to chat on the phone. There will be a family cook-out back in RI today...wish I could be there to give her a hug. Speaking of being back in RI....my son Eric and DIL Andrea are there and Andrea's baby shower is on Tuesday. I was unable to be off and fly back for these festivities and I am feeling down about it. I would so have liked to be part of the baby shower. I will gather up my gifts and one of my co-workers is getting her something and then will send them to their home soon. Such is life. As for the headache....I will take it easy today and hopefuly it will vanish. Whatever your plans for the holiday are, keep safe and enjoy. So glad you could stop by and visit.

So much going on...I almost forgot to post my TUSAL

It needs to be pushed down a bit....the blue is from my exchange...as is the green. The other threads are from my biscornu....you know...each thread Fred helped most eagerly to pull out!
Thank you for all the kind thoughts about the a/c....it is fixed. It was 94 out when the man arrived and 90 inside the house. The air ran from 11 AM until 3PM and got the temp inside down to 84. It was a long hot day.....but then it was 113 outside. Just glad to have it working again. I guess next year may be the replacement year.....or the one following at least. I have been stitching away on my exchange as well as my biscornu. It is too boring to post the biscornu, as I said, it is just a repeat of the first side. Most likely it will be ready to stitch together over the weekend. I have mailed the package to Denise.
I had a nice day today. Dear Ziz and I went to lunch at Fern's. Always good to spend time with friends. And it is always nice to have you visit with me. I hope your day was pleasant....see you tomorrow.

Happy 9th Anniversary to my son and daughter in law....and yes, they are the expectant parents of my grandson Devin!

There is no stitch update today.....I am waiting for the air conditioning man to come....it is 96 out and almost that inside. You guessed right. The air con is not----I repeat---not working. I have a feeling it will need to be replaced. I had thought next year, but guess not. So since last night we have waited for cool air....Thank goodness for the ceiling fans. It is some help.
Well, back to my iced water.....and to melt.....

Yesterday was our monthly stitch group meeting. We proudly made a presentation of our soldier pillows---127 in all!

Our group has gotten quite small as our snowbird members have left for cooler climates. But....

Yes, I am still stitching on my exchange piece and finished my giveaway pieces and will return to my challenge piece this week. I probably won't post it until it is finished because as I have said, it is a duplicate of the first side.

We seem to be having a partly cloudy morning, but it is still quite warm. Yesterday reached 117 here in the West Valley. The air con is keeping us cool.Hope all is well with all of you. I am so happy to have you visit with me...have a wonderful day.

Mr H has been refinishing my Papa' old smoking stand. I will post the finish soon and a little about it too.

I was real lazy this morning and did not get out to walk and now it is too hot for me to go. I have the laundry swirling and my coffee is waiting next to the Sunday paper.
