Cross Stitch display #2

Well, I spent quite a bit of time blog hopping to see all the displays...then remembered that I had not posted mine yet! I only have one to show, it is another JCS 2010 ornament. The Charlotte's Web Needlework, Christmas Magic. I frilled it up a little with the sheer ribbon.

I added a bead at each twist.

The backing fabric is from JoAnn's...I thought the swirls gave it  flight...

The star charm is from Blue Moon

On a new thought, I have been accepted to participate in a Winter Exchange. We have not received our partner names yet, but I am so pleased to be able to join that I am getting started. I coffee dyed the 28ct cream linen and like the way it has taken.

This beaded pouch was fun to knit. I made it some time ago and think I will make another for myself. I have given them as gifts in the past. The beads are pre-strung on Perle Cotton #8. it measures about 3 inches at the base about 2 1/2 in length. The needles are double pointed #0000, but I finished them at the top with beads to make it easier. I love the turquoise birds that I found in Rockport MA to top one pair. I have had the porcelain hands forever..

Once again, Chookyblue did a great job of gathering friends .....thank you.

In the midst of a busy day...

Sometimes being semi-retired does not mean totally free days...okay, most days are stitch days  for me ...but yesterday was not one of those days. So much to do...when am I going to sit and stitch...and then the mail arrived. I opened the package and what a lovely surprise! Patty (Hanging On By A Thread) sent me a pinkeep.

Isn't it pretty? Thank you Patty for your thoughtfulness.

Chookyblue is setting up a 2nd Saturday display. I will not be posting for it, but I will be visiting to see everyone who does. It was very successful  last week and I am sure it will be a nice this time around. My newest ornament should be finished by then, but I will not have much more to show.

Pincushion Puffs

Just finished...and I can't wait to make a few more!



Once again into my stash... of fabric this time...to find a print for these lovely puffs. Then into the button jars to find just the right buttons...and then I found a tassel!

For the back side, I found two mottled fabrics to complement the front prints. All of the buttons I have had for many years...I do save and collect buttons and have several jars!

Two finishes this morning!

Some mornings I am so ambitious...this was one of them. I put the laundry in and made a cup of coffee....then because it was only 3:30am, I sat curled in the corner of the daybed in my retreat room, put on the new TV that hubby bought me yesterday...
but...no, had to do something.....never idle too long.

This is the piece I posted the other day with 3 fabrics...but the beige print did not appeal to me, so just as you see it...it will rest upon my daybed...

This is a closer look at the motif...it is JBW French Country Love.....

 It pays to look into the stash bin...no, I mean really look, deep, deep, to the bottom. I found this small kit from Earth Designs by Betsy C Stinner from NY....I bought it in 1995...that's right, 1995! Well, I am glad that I finally stitched it....

                     the colors are lovely ....it has an angel charm, but not sure if I will add it.

The laundry is ready to fold, and I need another cup of coffee...hope you have a wonderful Sunday...visit again real soon....
