Yellow Bird and beads...

Yellow Bird is on it's way to Mouse..I decided to post my finish when it is actually completed in a final finish. It may be after I return from my trip...Then there are the beads. I know I have told you, but I love bracelets. I wear one everyday. I have some beautiful "real"  kind, Silver or Gold and even with diamonds.... but I also have many that are very inexpensive and fun to wear. I really enjoy making them....

This was  fun and a quick one. I think a red one maybe next!
I have packed a small bead kit to take with me as well as a stitch project. I know, you wonder how with only 4 days to spend with family and friends that I would have time to do such things. Remember--- I am awake and up from around 3:30/3 am everyday. Remember too that I will be at a hotel so my early time will be productive. Unfortunately, Rhode Island is small and there are no needlework shops or bead shops. But If I find one, you know I will shop!
I am in need of a cup of coffee right about now and my embroidery project is waiting for me at the purple chair...going to work today so stitch time is limited. Thank you for all your warm kind words for Ms Zoe. She is as Zoe is....I enjoyed our chat today. Have a great day.

Yes, another bracelet

Okay, I know I could have been working on Iris. I even could have finished Yellow Bird. Yesterday, I saw a bracelet in one of my bead books and just had to make it. I did have to improvise a little and had to go to the bead shop to get a few things... but it was worth it...

I had the soft green pearls but not the right color seed beads. Usually I wear silver so I had to get a gold-tone toggle and I had to have the accent green crystals....there are a little hard to see, but they are in between each pearl set. I just love how it turned out. This is close to the original pattern but I did not have enough pearls to complete so I added crystals to each end and I added the crystals to the spaces.

Thank you all so very much for the kind words for Zoe. She had not gotten lost since, but she is generally off in her own world at times.... except when she smells food, or hears a fork hit a plate! I guess it is not as important to come when called, or to sleep normal nighttime hours. A girl has to have priorities!

One of those Monday's

You know the kind of Monday I am talking about. This day started at 1 am when Ms Zoe wanted someone to sit in the living room with her while she slept...that's right. She fell back to sleep, me, I tried to... in the end I did laundry, had a cup of coffee, read the newspaper, and got an embroidery design ready to work on. Speaking of embroidery...

This is one of Kaaren's  of The Painted Quilt, FFF patterns. She made hers into a pincushion... I am thinking something else for mine. I am still in the figure the measurement mode, but it will come together. I love the blue floral which will be the back/inside sections. Stitched with DMC 796. 
The design I will work on next is from a Primitive Angel pattern book that I have had for ages. The hold up is deciding which of 3 shades to use for the embroidery. I  have a lovely floral print that will be with it and when finished, it will cover a journal notebook.
We had a dust storm hit us late yesterday afternoon...and then finally some rain. Today is starting cloudy and not too uncomfortable out there. Perfect day to stitch. I am almost finished with the stitching for Yellow Bird...
I was asked how Zoe is doing. Well, it would be funny if it did not bring tears to my eyes. Yesterday I let her into the backyard as usual. She did her thing and then I noticed she was wandering around aimlessly. I realized she was "lost". She really did not know how to get back to me to come in. Let me tell you, we do not have  a gigantic yard. So far her brain mass has cause little problems...this was upsetting to me. Finally I went to her and gently prodded her toward the door. Just another day.

Another 100

What a sky we gazed upon last night...

first it was very dark and gloomy...then the bright pinks and lavenders appeared to dazzle us. Some of the Valley got rain and lightening but alas we did not get any much wanted and needed rain in our neighborhood.
I had the day off, so I was able to stitch and relax and host a tea. Parsley from Seasons of my Mind and her daughter decided to have a blog tea. Several of us hosted and posted recipes. It was a great way to make a few new friends... welcome to those who have joined me.
I did manage another 100 on Iris...

I love the shade of this block. I really find that I am best to only do one block of 100 at a sitting...
I am moving along nicely on Yellow Bird...the stitching just may be finished today. I am trying to plan a final finish...a few ideas are floating around my mind. I have several other thoughts floating around there too. My trip to Rhode Island is soon approaching. I am so excited to be having The Cousin's Re-union. My brother has been very accommodating with my plans. My suitcase is open and ready for the what to bring.... all casual and relaxed stuff. My stitch projects and a beading project are set. I plan to take lots of pictures and make memories. I have put together a small photo album of my world here in Arizona for them to see.
The laundry is finished, my coffee is brewing and the newspaper is waiting. Are you watching any of the Olympics? I used to be  such a faithful watcher, but not so in recent years. I did catch the women's weightlifting event...not going there! Maybe I will listen while I read the paper. So very glad you stopped by today. Hope your day is great....
