A late post...

I thought I would post now at almost 7 pm because tomorrow morning I will be up at 4 am and getting Mr H up at 4:30 so we can get checked in at the hospital for 5:30! Have I ever mentioned that Mr H is not, repeat, not a morning person before 9:30 am??? Luckily the hospital is only 6 miles away. It will be a very long day. He has been in more pain this week. We will be glad to get this over and hopefully it will help. I wanted to show you ...
my new books that arrived this week. I bought them from Amazon and thy arrived quickly. With them in hand I have organized a few projects....

This is my next Needle punch, a hummingbird....it will have a challenge for me...I will be using rayon threads! Definitely will be interesting. So far just his beak and head done. Next up,
a small penny rug mat....simple but I think I will embellish it with some embroidery on the pennies.  I remembered that I had some wonderful fabric from Dixie Sampler so I started Bee Happy
It is 25 count and is called, Vintage Butter Pecan...perfect! So, I have plenty to keep me organized and busy while taking care of the hubby and also to keep me occupied in the hospital waiting room. This weekend we are having a heat wave warning----- the temps are predicted to be between 117 and 119 for Sunday and Monday. Guess you know that it means the air conditioner will be running and the ceiling fans will be twirling. It is always so nice to have you visit....thank you for the kind words and your friendship. Have a good weekend.

A finish and a pattern is ready to travel

I am so pleased with my Penny Rug Mat...
The little candy dish is one I have had since I am married..... almost 42 years. A cousin of Mr H gave it to me. It is from Italy and is very old. The elderly gentleman who gave it to the cousin brought it from Italy when he immigrated to the USA.
It really was a fun project and easy too. I am already planning my next one. Just have to decide on colors for it. It is a pattern I bought at Jo Ann's that has flower appliques.
Now, I am happy to say tha the SB Travelling Pattern is ready to move on.

I am still decideing on the fabric for the backing... I plan on a small pillow. Lee  sent suggested threads in DMC. I will be sending that as well as my changes... you know I just had to make a few color changes. I decide to use a tea dyed 32 ct from my linen stash and also stitched with double thread instead of the single.
It is such a sweet design and quick too.

Lee sent a little bee for me to add.....I will be sending a little something to the next person to add. So...... If you want to stitch this cute design, leave a note on this post and I will draw a name on Sunday the 25th....

We had a bit of rain over night... not enough to make a real difference, but welcomed anyway. I love the sound of the rain.... the sun is just now popping out, but I would not mind a little more rain. I know the plants love it and Mr H does not have to water them. I worked a full 4 days this past week...I am tired. I really like the 3-3 day weeks, but sales sales sales = busy busy busy. Today a quick drive to the market and then some reading and stitching on my BBD. I am so pleased we shared some time together.... I will stop by soon to visit with you. Thank you for the kind words and emails.... have a wonderful day.

A little cloudy but Saturday was great....

Mr H and I spent Saturday roaming around North Scottsdale. Specifically having appetizers at Cheesecake Factory. I of course added a Mojitio...yum. We had Firecracker Shrimp and Grilled Artichoke halves and Mr H had needed a hot fudge sundae. The chocolate sauce was spoon delicious. I did have to test taste it. This was at Kierland Commons shopping area. After filling ourselves with nourishment, we decided to walk about. That is when this came into view...
Oh yes.... a Lamborghini...in full glory. The trunk is clear glass so that the engine is fully visible. This is a dream vehicle.  See the couple in the window? The guy and I chatted and he offered to take me for a ride...problem... it was not his! The little boy sitting on the bench could not take his eyes off it. But it was time to move along....
We found a Tommy Bahama Restaurant. I definitely want to have lunch there the next time we are at Kierland Commons. Mr H asked to see a menu and the girl gave him the lunch and dinner ones. When he said that he wanted one to take to look at, she said take them! Giving away their menus?  The $$$ are what you would expect for the place and area...but I still need to have lunch there.
All and all it was a nice day and it was nice to have Mr H feeling up to the outing.  I did manage to get a few pennies stitched for my mat...
only 7 to go....
I plan to stitch on this project today. I must admit that there are two... yes two projects calling to me. I am going to try not to sway. You know how hard that can be. They are just waiting. All ready to go but not in hand. One is even on my work table already! Then I spied the Just Nam Humbug in the closet.... oh only two hands one head but a stitchers heart!
Glad you dropped by this day. I appreciate the wonderful comments and emails. Do have a wonderful day.

The end of the week~~~~

~~~~and the start of a new project.
Before that, look at this lovely Pansy with the sunlight setting it aglow ...
I love them ... the ladies of the garden. We have a few pots with different colors, but this is so eye catching.
Now back to the project....
A Penny Rug Mat. Finally I decided to just do it. Stop with the I will and just do it. Well, to be truthful, I hated the thought of cutting circles and trying to have them exact. So remember the circle cutter I bought earlier this week?.....
Olfa Circle Rotary Cutter...and did it make it super simple. That is as soon as I was able to get the hang of it. I did a few practice cuts before starting this.
 the blade is super sharp as is the pivot point. It adjusts from 1 and 7/8ths to 8 1/2 inch circles. The fabric is for the backing. I chose black for the mat center and the light grey/charcoal and burgundy for the pennies.
I have had the last 2 Saturdays off...wouldn't mind being home today so I can start this. We have been really busy this week so I don't think that will happen. No plans for the weekend...how about you? It was so nice of you to take time  to visit with me today...I enjoy you comments and will stop by to see you all later. Have a wonderful day.
