Progress

What a humid morning! There is a chance of storms later today but unfortunately it does not cool the temps at all. It was only 100 yesterday and maybe will be 103 which really is not too bad unless it is the Monsoon time of year. My back is feeling so much better and I am trying to limit what I do and even when I am stitching I can only sit for a short time before I feel pain in my back.
This could have should have been finished, but it is okay. Learning my limits. I sit in a comfortable chair when I craft but like most I think I get in a position and depending on what I am doing I tend to not move too much, and then stiffen. It will be another 2 wrap. Southwest design.
Sometime this weekend I must vacuum and I am ignoring the lanai for now. If I can get the leaf blower down from it's hanging spot in the garage I can make the task easier. I will then change the storage place for it. There are still things that are "Denny's height".  Once I asked why he hung it so high and the response was "to keep it out of your hands" not helping now!
Laundry is swishing and beading is waiting. My Date Nut bars are still waiting for me to make...maybe today will be the day.  I do need to get to the pharmacy to get my eye drops and cancel my Fosamax prescription as it is causing me problems. The doctor will be deciding what to try next. They mentioned an injection which they will administer as I will not give it to myself. I will talk with them at my follow up visit.  Off I go to make the bed and check the laundry. So happy to have you visit with me. Thank you for the kind words and most of all for your friendship. You truly make my day.
How many days??????  Alan and Lisa and I had our chat yesterday making a few plans more definite. Lisa and I will be picking out a new car and of course the new fridge. Then it will be fun for the week. Wish it was a longer visit...one day it will be.

Feeling better...but

How lucky am I that my doctor who was leaving yesterday for a medical convention saw me as his last patient and then had to get to the airport. I will tell you how lucky I am. This doctor was My Denny's pain management doctor for 12 years who also began seeing me these last 6 years. This man teared when he found that Dennis was dying and told me he would always see me when needed. I went earlier so that it would be easier for him. At first by the way I stood and walked he thought maybe a compressed fracture of my spine....further look under the machine and that was not the case. My back is very weak and the spinal curvature is not going to get better. Injections it was and I lost count but it was several into the spine and to the right. Very painful...but I was in so much pain anyway. I had to sit for a few minutes after but I was able to stand straight and walk out better than when I hobbled in. I am sore but again, better. I will need to readjust what I do and how I do it. A new way to live for me. The pond will be an issue as will a few other things but it is what it is.
I managed to pick out the beads from my cupboard yesterday for the next wrap bracelet.... carefully but other than adding the button did nothing. This is the cupboard that holds all my beads and the drawer at the bottom holds the tools and other supplies

I will need to try not to sit too long and be sure to stretch out my back with a walk about. I tend to get caught up and just keep going.
Remember the photo uploading issues....well all of a sudden it is back to how it was accepting pictures before! Not completely but I will adjust... more adjustments. I had to clean the printer yesterday but am still having a bit of issue. Always something. I tried to remember how Honey---AKA Keith did it before.
It is still dark outside but humid with storm chances today. There is some wind as my chimes and buoy bell are talking in the dark. My coffee has just finished brewing so off I go. Hope to bake some Date Nut bars today and Fluffy Tapioca pudding too. I have a stool Denny bought me to sit at the counter when baking so I will not have to stand there. Glad you stopped by. Thank you for your kind words and emails and encouragement. Thank you most of all for your friendship. I must also say special thanks to those of you who are still sending cards and notes to mom Eva P...I did not expect you to continue but I thank you for caring. She tell everyone about all of you.

The plane... the plane....

Remember those lines from Fantasy Island TV show  from the mid 70s-80s? Tattoo would yell them out when the plane arrived...well, I was Tattoo yesterday but I was yelling "the pain...the pain".
My back is giving me such trouble that I am barely able to walk, sit or walk. Can not concentrate on anything. I was able to get an appointment this morning with my pain management doctor and hopefully he will be able to give me injections.  I feel like a truck ran me over but did not drive off.
I tried to gather supplies for another wrap bracelet but my bead cabinet is such that I would need to get down to look thorough the many beads and then for sure I would never get up from the floor. That idea quickly was put out of mind. At one point I decided to tat but that was not a good idea. I did read yesterday as that was about all I could do and even at that my mind recalled Tattoo!
I love to embroider and found this on Jenny's blog....would make an adorable pillow. Love her patterns. I find her blog so relaxing and she has such comforting words …. stop by.
The day is starting very cloudy and humid with low temps. Maybe a storm coming., There was some  thunder last evening but nothing came along with it. As long as it holds off until I return form the doctor appointment. So my friends there is nothing to show you...nothing creative. Thank you for visiting and for your kind words. Most of all, thank you for your friendship.
Just about a month to go.... for you know who and what.

Missed storm

The weather alert came in on the phone...Dust storm warning and severe thunder storms in the area..... well, the sky did look threatening and the thunder did sound as well as a flash or two of lightening but not rain … no dust … no storm. I still sent myself to the bedroom! One thing about the storms, the scenery changes quickly and becomes dramatic. The glint of sunset against the tall palm tree fronds is lovely. I secured the garden tools left by the pond and scared a tiny lizard...he actually scared me. It was a quiet evening after all.
If you think it is a new smoke detector you are correct. Yes I did it. This is the one in the hallway outside my bedroom and the lowest one to install. The other two are going to require the higher step ladder and yesterday was not the day with my back still bothering me. They will have to wait... I believe they will require help. While I was finding things to do...like I do not have anything at the ready...I realized while playing music that the 2 wall mounted Polk speakers are not connected to the receiver so they are not needed. There is a Polk sub woofer that also does not work with the stereo...they were part of the home theater. So today they will be disconnected. They have been offered to the couple who will get the system. Remember the sweet little girl from Dianna...
her basil has dried and now looks perfect hanging down from her pot. I picked the piece of basil while it had flowered so the tiny blooms are in perfect proportion. Today I will think about the next bracelet to wrap. I also got the supplies for a tatted ornament ready.  No plans really for the day...except take Bissell for a walk around the place with Swiffer...they need the exercise. Well my friends right now I need breakfast so off I go to accomplish my tasks. Thank you for your kind words and of course for your friendship.

That's a wrap and some cables

Yesterday while plugging in a heating pad for my back...
I found these cables....they were part of the home theater projector set up and were still connected to my DVD player. Last year when I dis-connected the system I just left the cables connected to the player and receiver in case I was going to keep the set up. When I gave the projector away I forgot to find these. This is 3 cables the longest is about 25 feet....only Denny knew what he was doing! I did send a text to Dianna to let her cousin know not to buy anything until he checks with me for these to save money.
My back is a little better but I am not going to work outside as I am not feeling too good today. I did finish the wrap bracelet
I decided to make it a 2 wrap....and this is what I have....love the colors and the texture.
This is the button closure and the other end of the bracelet. Very nice to make and one of a kind. I never repeat a pattern so the next one will be different even using some of the same beads. I will also plan a single wrap style.

My plan to leave the pond for now gives me indoor time to maybe get this done later today. Smoke detectors! All this lightening causes me worry for fire. I do not want to wait until The Brother Alan arrives...remember he is coming! in September. He already has some tasks to do.
Looks like it should be easy....2 screws and attach...right. Got this far when I started not to feel well last evening so I thought a step ladder is off limits. I have 3 in the house. Laundry is swishing right now and the bed is made so at least something has gotten done. For now though it is feet up and try to feel well enough to get things done. Definitely the pond tomorrow no matter what. Off I go to gather supplies for the single wrap. Nice to chat with you as always. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.
