And the winner is~~~~~

October has arrived and I am hoping the lower temps do too. I really miss sitting outside in the early morn with my coffee and the daily newspaper. If the temps permit I also enjoy stitching outdoors. Usually the hummingbird flutters overhead making little noises and distracting me.... then there are the lizards who scurry around.... once in awhile the coyote walks through... so pleasant.

Getting ready to mail out my Secret Pen Pal letter today and also my Designer Exchange piece. Sadly, this group will not continue. I will post a picture of what I send and of course what I receive as soon as they arrive here and there.

Before I tell you who won ... I know ... but ... I just want to tell you a short tale.
One year ago when I started this blog it was just for me to write down my daily thought and document my needlework. Oh of course I thought it would be wonderful if anyone would read it and could they possibly want to join my journey? Well, write and post pictures and they do drop in and return! I never dreamed that I would be involved in exchanges and give aways and the such. It has been wonderful meeting all of you. It is nice to know that someone cares how we feel, what we are doing and takes the time to tell you.
That stated... the winner is ....... ...... .......Kaye from Kitten Stitches. Kaye, I will email you.......

Here is wishing all of you a wonderful new month and a great day.

Last day of September

I will be ever so glad to see the end of this month. On the other hand...October brings a few must do things.... I know I will accomplish these but still......

I walked this morning and found this at the corner of our condo property...

such a lovely flower on a large Organ Pipe cactus. Sad it will be around for one day and one night.

Yesterday I posted about a win I received from Dawn....

Quite a nice selection of patterns. Always fun to get blog mail! Speaking of which...I must get my Secret Pen Pal letter out. That too has been fun and I look forward to "meeting" who my pal is in December.

Tomorrow I will announce the winner of my drawing. So ... today is the last day for entering.  It has been nice to read why someone follows me. I know that I truly enjoy your company and even if you do not leave a message....I hope you do enjoy stopping by. I am lucky to have you all as my friends.
Hope you have a great day......

It's a sunshine day....

Actually, it is almost always a sunshine day here in the West Valley. It was just comfortable enough ... if  only for a little while .... for me to have my coffee outside this morning and started to read a good book. First I should begin by telling you that early yesterday morning there was  movie on called The 19th Wife. I am glad that I decided to watch it... it was very good. So this morning I downloaded the book to my e-reader and began the story. Glad I did too... so I have taken a stitch break for the morning to read.

Here is where I left off my BBD bird...
just love the color of the flower! I think next I will put his eye in and add the legs... anyway, I am enjoying this as I do all of BBD projects.
I received a wonderful package from Dawn's give away....I will post a picture tomorrow. Thank you Dawn.

Have you decided to enter my anniversay give away? Check out Friday's post....

Thank yu for taking the time to visit with me....enjoy your day.

Football and stitching....

In our home Sunday means football for Mr H and stitching for me with one eye on the TV.

This is what I am currently stitching....
It is BBD Joy from  the JCC Christmas issue. I love BBD ....
I am stitching on 32 count linen from "the drawer" and using DMC threads. Not sure of the finish yet....

On the furbaby news... Zoe has not shown any problems this week.... but we are keeping a good watch.  The Vet is almost sure of a Neuro problem and because of her age we will just keep her safe and comfortable.
On the hubby news.... he is feeling better... but possible more surgery ahead. I truly admire his strength and optimism.
Well...thanks all folks.... oh except for my anniversary give away...remember to post  on previous post. Drawing will be Oct 1st.
Thank you for stopping by and for all the kind  words..... have a great day.
