Where have the days gone...

This week seems to be a blur. A week almost past and I guess I was busy. Oh I did work on Elizabeth one day. I must say I am overwhelmed with your kind words for her. Thank you so much. She is still sitting in the living room. I guess I should remind you of the pattern and supplies:

Some of you have wondered about our weather... first I am not in a flood area thank goodness, but yes, the rains have caused serious problems for areas South and East of us and North too. This Monsoon season has developed into annoying weather. The humidity is getting to my asthma. I am still working on Cinderella.... hope to finish this weekend. I did pick up a white frame for it on sale at Jo Ann's that I think will work nicely. The beginning of the month Vickie offered a Bent Creek design, Dinner's Ready and I was lucky enough to receive it....

I love how she finished hers and may have to do one like it. Vickie included beautiful counting pins which I love; look how delicate they are.....and seeds for Shirley Poppies for Mr H to plant in our garden. How sweet is that?! Since I pick this out of the mailbox on my way to work and did not open it until I remembered it was in my bag this morning, he will be surprised.This weather has played havoc on his garden. Besides stitching on Cinderella (yet to start Christmas stitching!) I bought some beads to make a few Spiders... some Christmas others for Halloween. It is always my pleasure to make them for friends. I think it is time for me to get back to my coffee....so glad you stopped by today. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Introducing Elizabeth

This morning,very early, maybe around 4 AM, I decided it was time to settle down and complete Elizabeth. First was to get the body ready....Time was spent fitting the dowel and cutting it twice before I was happy with the height. Then the fiberfill had to be plump but not billowing....

Then it was on to the skirt. I hand stitched it to the silk Dupioni lining and then pressed it carefully.....then it was on to making the scissor pouch and getting everything gathered just right and attached to the body.

I am so pleased with the outcome. Mr H gave her a nice smile when he awoke, and I got a "well done".

These scissors are from Germany and I have had them forever....probably 30 or more years; they now have a place with Elizabeth. At this moment she is sitting in the living room . She will eventually have a place in the sewing room.... but for now, I just want to admire her. Yes I spent a bit of money for her but she is so worth it. I think that is about it for now. A beautiful morning

Unusual for me to be posting this late. I did my laundry and did some stitching...

hope Cinderella is not in too much of a hurray for her coach. I love this design....and I am glad I had this piece of linen, I think it is just the right shade to go with the listed DMC colors. I saw a simple frame at Jo Ann's but did not buy it. Maybe I will on Tuesday when I go in to work. Work.....work was so busy Saturday. It seemed like half the department was in our go back area! My hand was a bit swollen by time 5 o'clock rolled around. I plan to have a nice leisurely day today working on Cinderella and devote tomorrow on Elizabeth. I thought about working on her this morning but decided to go over to Jeanne's place. We have such a nice time when we get together to stitch, or not. Today was a chat morning.... I love her company. I arrived back just in time for hot pancakes just off the griddle. Jeanne gave me some seed pods to plant. They come from the tree in her yard.  Yum. Mr H will plant them in a pot for now. Speaking of Mr H, he drilled the hole for me in the piece of wood I bought for Elizabeth's base. I don't think he trusts me with his drill! It is his football day.... I may just stay in the sewing room where it will be nice and quiet. Did I tell you he coaches all the teams from his comfy chair? He is normally a very quiet man, except football day.
