The end of the week~~~~

I love them ... the ladies of the garden. We have a few pots with different colors, but this is so eye catching.

Now back to the project....

A Penny Rug Mat. Finally I decided to just do it. Stop with the I will and just do it. Well, to be truthful, I hated the thought of cutting circles and trying to have them exact. So remember the circle cutter I bought earlier this week?.....

Olfa Circle Rotary Cutter...and did it make it super simple. That is as soon as I was able to get the hang of it. I did a few practice cuts before starting this.

 the blade is super sharp as is the pivot point. It adjusts from 1 and 7/8ths to 8 1/2 inch circles. The fabric is for the backing. I chose black for the mat center and the light grey/charcoal and burgundy for the pennies.

I have had the last 2 Saturdays off...wouldn't mind being home today so I can start this. We have been really busy this week so I don't think that will happen. No plans for the weekend...how about you? It was so nice of you to take time  to visit with me today...I enjoy you comments and will stop by to see you all later. Have a wonderful day.

Back up and working....

Just another week with surprises. The latest? Well yesterday I was NOT greeted by my computer. My 3 year old monitor would not wake up. Just kept telling me "going to sleep"... not a good thing. Of course when Mr H woke up he asked all the right annoying questions... did you try...did you do...did you and did you! Mind you, I am  more computer expert literate than he. Anyway, he decided we would go right there and then to Best Buy, to the Geek people. After waiting one half hour the verdict was what I already knew. My monitor was useless. Mr H and the "guys" picked one out and off to work I went. Mr H returned home to replug it all in. So now I am having to get used to a new monitor. Why is it, every time you change a component, everything is different. Anyway.....
Here is a nice and quick stitch I did.....

It is a freebie from The Primitive Hare and I did make a few changes. I stitched with DMC 469 and on 32ct coffee dyed linen from my stash.

I added a nice big button and did an outline stitch around the edge. I had just the right fabric for the backing.

I am off to work today... busy week at Jo Ann's... coupon Commotion Week and we have been busy.  And no, if you stop in and want to use a coupon marked crafts for fabric.... the answer is no.... I do not make the rules..... getting angry with us does not make for nice friends! Luckily there are more smiles and kind compliments than rude people.

Tooz-day and everything is coming up yellow

My favorite color rose is yellow. Yesterday this one opened to it's fullest and smell sweet. I usually pick them and enjoy them in the house, but as this is just outside our kitchen window, I have enjoyed looking at it every time I pass the window. It is a beautiful day... sun is bright and temps comfortable. Although I am working today, I plan to start a new stitch.... oh yes, I did finish the "just a peek"...

This was a freebie I downloaded last year designed by Donna and then saw it finished as an egg on her blog ... stitched by Daniela. So I decided to work it up making color changes for the flowers. I used 32 ct linen from my stash and DMC colors changing to yellow...#743, 744 and 3820. I used a Lucite coaster. It will come in handy to hold sewing trinkets. It is a lovely pattern to stitch and I would stitch it again and finish as an egg most likely as I really like Daniela's.

My stitching mind is just too busy with plans! I have so many projects I want to do... and when you have the linen and threads at hand...well, you just have to do !

Thank you all for the support and kind wishes and thoughts for Mr H. Yesterday we spent a couple of hours with the pain specialist and Mr H received an injection to his spine. They had a nurse start an IV to monitor him and hopefully he will feel better today. The doctors are at a stand still as to what to do next. Not exactly what we want to hear. As for Zoe, she has not been feeling well at all.... I plan on calling the Vet to see what she thinks. We are really hoping that it will not be time yet for her to leave us. Nights seem to be her worst time. Although the last few days it has been on/off all day. Funny, but every time Mr H is having a bad day, so does Zoe.

My newest......

This is what I was doing at 3 am this morning.....

Many years ago my sis Lynowl gave this glass slipper to me. At the time it had a net insert filled with potpourri that long ago lost it's scent. The slipper has been empty .... until now.

When we were just little girls...very young... mom took us to see Cinderella.... one of my favorite movies. The theater was selling momentos and mom bought me the slipper and Lynowl the magic wand. Many years past and Mr H saw this adveristed from the Franklin Mint ...

I received the coach that year for Christmas and the slipper and velvet pillow in February for my bithday. Look at the pumpkin on the toe of the slipper!

We did not have a good day yesterday... Mr H did not have a good afternoon. As a result, neither did Zoe. She seems to know when he is ill and then she has issues too. Keeping in mind that she has a brain mass, it just may be that her issues just pop up with his. We finally got the report from the last CT scan. A consultation is in order with 2 of the specialists. This is really getting him down. To be honest, me too. It just seems to never end.

On a more pleasant note...I am almost finished with the "sneek peek" stitching. When you are up early and all is quiet, for me, it is a great time to stitch. Clears my mind.  A few errands to do then to hopefully relax with my stitching and Mr H who is starting the day better than he ended it. Thank you for stopping by today. Enjoy your Sunday......
