It's Friday and the 13th too!!!

Now I will say that I am a superstitious person but Friday the 13th does not affect me in any way.... I will be careful while out today. I know it is seriously a problem for some people, but not for me..... I did dust the horseshoe and it is in the proper position. I wonder why cable was out this morning and why the living room TV has issues that are all now cleared up? Moving on......
I have not been able to stitch this week much because I was busy with these gals
yes, 6 ballerina and their skirts all cut and ready to dance to someone's home..... why did I think cutting these all the same day would not bother my hand. The word is think, I did not bother to think! I won't be doing that again. One a day or so if there are more to cut. Yesterday Mr H went to Redbox to get me the movie, Mr Holmes....I love everything Sherlock Holmes, well maybe except for the newer versions. We have a collection of the DVDs which we watch frequently. Anyway, I really did enjoy it. I had read the book that it was based on; A Slight Trick of the Mind some years back. I think I will re-read the book. I have no specific plans for today. I will let Mr H drive if we are out today....The NASCAR race people are in town this weekend so traffic in certain areas will be busy. Good for the economy, but terrible for traffic and restaurants. Maybe some of them are cautious about the date today. I think I will be needing to put together another stitch kit for while visiting in hospital as I have been stitching on the one I did have ready. I really should do a laundry.... or should I. Thank you for stopping by, for your kind words and most of all your friendship. Have a great day.

A new ballerina is dancing

Oh my I am finally feeling like this miserable cold is on the way out...hopefully not to you. I am off work  today so that is good. I have not done much stitching at all. Mr H and I finally got to go out for our anniversary dinner on Monday.  I also found another ballerina for my sewing room window...
I am so happy this group continues to make them. It benefits the crafts people of Thailand who make them. She now joins the other two gals...
and they dance with the breeze. The air duct is just to the left of them so whether it is on heat or air conditioning, they sway gently and also if the window is open. As long as the temps are hitting high 80's and low 90's, it is unlikely that the window will be open!
Thank you for the kind words regarding my anniversary....it is quite a milestone to reach 45 years especially that when we met, we both thought we wanted to remain single. You just never know what will be.  Did I mention that the Quails have started their families?
this brood is about 2 weeks old. The momma watched carefully as I took the picture through the window. They almost blend completely in the rocks....do you see them all? Right now it is quite breezy outside; the chimes are singing both out in front and in the back....maybe I can sit outside before the hot time of the day arrives. I am working on an applique pincushion....just getting the final embroidery trim on. So, off I go. Thank you for visiting with me today....have a great day.

Another very warm day

When the temperature is at 73 and the time reads 5 AM and the sun is still asleep, you just know it will be a very warm if not hot day. Yesterday the temp reached 97 and it is not even May yet! Some of the lovely garden blooms are feeling the heat already.....
Before leaving work yesterday, I picked up trim that I will use on All Is Well and some foam core board...on my way to getting a completion. I surprised myself with how little is let to do on Doll. Guess I have been putting more XXs in than I thought. The quilt is also moving along.... just 3 squares to embroider and then assemble. The embroidery is simple and looking as I imagined it all would. Very pleased with myself I am. Today Mr H has a doctor appointment this morning then I have a short meeting with our HOA Consultant then the rest of the day is mine, all mine. First I would like to get All Is Well mounted on the foam core board. I have not decided how to finish the wooden board that it will be on.... stain or paint. Always a decision to hold me up. I am thinking just a paint whitewash..... Next will be to at least embroider one more quilt square. I love hand embroidery.... I also want to try Stump Embroidery ...I am off until Saturday so I will have plenty of time to play with that. Some time last month while in Scottsdale, I found this delightful lady...
She is the same on both sides and dancing in the window of my Sewing room. When the afternoon sun enters  into the room,
The Ballerina shines and the air moves her gently and silently. Flying quietly above her in this window are 12 Origami Cranes. They came to live with me from ..Ingrid( see old post here) There are so many talented artists out in the world. I promise to try to find where the cranes flew in from. Dear friends, that about is it for this day. Laundry is ready to pop into the dryer and I positively need another cup of coffee. Thank you for the kind words and for spending time with me. Hope you have a marvelous day.
This is a beautiful day! It is a great reminder how thankful I am for all the "beauty" I have in my life. Thank you for being apart of this great feeling.
