What a difference a day makes~~~~~

Or in this case ... 10 days. Mr H is making good progress. His sleep habits are all off, but he is eating and drinking better.  Color is good. Tomorrow we see both surgeons and I do hope the news is good. We certainly could use it. Thank you all for being there for me ... so many good wishes and messages. i have missed my posting and visiting with all of you. By the time I had some time, I was just too tired. I treasure  you my friends!

Yesterday was Zoe's day to the Vet...
Our sweet girl has been having a few problems. Dr Lori thinks it may be Neurological. If that is the case time will tell.....The girl is 11 and still has a strong heart and good blood pressure. We will deal with it as it comes.
I had some wonderful mail... even though it took me a few days to check for mail!
There was a note card from my Secret Pen Pal (upper left corner) ...and more post cards .... and some stitching. I really did manage to get some stitching done sitting with Mr H in the hospital. Both of the pieces hidden in the mail are gifts.... so this is all you can see for now.
Well, that is it for now..... glad to be back in blog land.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you kind thoughts and messages. Have a wonderful day.

The Postman only had to ring once!

When the back bell rings I think mail~~~~and yes indeed
Sometime back  I had wished for a thimble to add to my Arizona Bound adventure from RI to AZ. It was one that I could not get on our way out here from Illinois. Mary Jane aka Calamity Jr sent me the above. Of course it was wrapped in lavender tissue....the thimble is perfect and the thread.....WDW Peoria Purple....she wrote, "the floss is meant to be a token of friendship from Peoria IL"~~~~ because I live very near Peoria AZ. So special...thank you my friend.
The Post card exchange has been fun...
These are the ones I have received.
I managed some stitching  yesterday...

Now we have 2 fluttering butterflies.....and a bee buzzing!

Just look at it~~~~I know his wings are hard to see because they ar white.....there will be a few more on this piece.
Posting today and yesterday has been a PITA~~~~trouble uploading pictures. Is it me?????
WEll, I had a busy morning and the afternoon will be alos. Mr H and I are going to the Cardiologist for testing. The surgeon want this and one more test before surgery. That may be in 2 weeks.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your day is relaxing.

I have been trying to post since 9 am. I just got so caught up in a PBS airing of Appalachia this morning. It was 3 programs, one after another and I could not turn away. Everyone should watch this series....it certainly will give you a different outlook on things. At least it has for me.
I did get mega stitching finished on Summer Iris ....
left now is the border and the date. I stitched my own version of a letter G....

I looked at several alphabets, but in the end this is what I did.
Yesterday brought my first Postcard from the exchange....I will be mailing out mine today.....When we drove across from Rhode Island to Arizona, I would pick up postcards daily from where ever we stopped and mail them to my family and friends....I wish I had kept some for myself. I should make a list of places and then post to see if anyone will send me one. I also bought a thimble for my collection. The only one I did not get is one from Illinois. The truck stop did not have any! I usually picked one up in a truck stop souvenir shop...just plan nothing fancy or expensive....sometimes the motel had them too. I know I will not do a return road trip...once was more than enough...so .....
Well, glad you wee able to spend some time with me...have a real good day.

It's wenz'da

I seemed to have lost this week...
On Monday 2 packages arrived for me.......
My sis Lyn sent me one of my favorites .... Pepper Biscuits. I cannot get them here in Arizona......
I could just devour both packages, but I limit myself.......it takes a lot of force restraint. Also included is some tea from Rwanda and Kenya. A friend of ours recently travelled there and brought some back. I have not tried it yet.

I also found this in my delivery....

I had won a giveaway from Bronny and it is this lovely scissor fob......do you see the kangaroo? Thank you Bronny.

I have worked on my BBD Summer Iris.....

I wanted a break from the 2 exchange pieces. Speaking of that.....I received my Designer Exchange partners name. So now the piece I m working on has a personal attachment to it. Soon I hope to receive my first Secret Pen Pal letter...I have already written and sent mine out. Then hopefully I will learn who my Fall Exchange partner is. As you can see, I am keeping my hands and mind busy.

The Post Card list is still open until tonight. So-----if you want to be on the list---send me your info in an email today! You do not have to have a blog to join in.

Yesterday we went to the doctor's...again....Mr H will need another CT scan and more lab work for me. We have declared that getting older  is not so much fun right now. But as always, we are there for one another which makes it tolerable....most of the time.
I am so glad you took the time to visit with me. Hope your day is great.

Friendship Day

Today is Friendship Day....
I want to say how much I appreciate all of you.....your warm kind words and generous praises.......you are all very special to me.Thank you for being part of my world.

It is just going to be one of those days....lazy. I have not slept well these last 2 days. I know what  you are thinking...."she gets up so early everyday".....and I do. But, when I am up because of a problem, that is something else all together. Saturday around 1:30 AM I could hear Mr H talking softly to Zoe....just as I was getting out of bed to investigate...Mr H appeared to announce that Zoe was not right......and she wasn't. She appeared to be having a mini stroke on her right side. Finally about 4 am she returned to normal and back to the foot of the bed to sleep. The vet would need to see her while this is happening so we will just have to keep any eye on her and act then. luckily I was able to leave work early and get home to relax. I need a nap...that's it!
A while back I bought 2 paper mache' hands and ....
and thought I would  decoupage on one of them......I will post that when I get it completed. I have no idea why I wanted them.
I also found these nice western charms....
I am sure I will use them eventually.
As for stitching.....I am still working on 2 exchange pieces but I did start BBD Summer Iris for myself.

not much to really show....
Still time to join the Postcard Exchange...email me your snail info to be added to the list....by Wednesday!

Did I mention I need a nap...with that said  Ithink I will curl up in a comfy chair and do nothing at all.....
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a relaxing day.

My Pagoda and a Friendship Exchange

What a joy to stitch and assemble this piece.....

This was a design from Lody Steward from the GOS July 2009 #42 issue. I used 28 ct white linen from my drawer and the threads are DMC # 115 and #792. The beads are gold beads from my bead box.
What a great design......The article says that this would be the display position.....

...and then to use as a pin cushion....
isn't it lovely! I plan to make a few more using different colors.

I started my Fall Exchange...I know, we have not even had the sign up or the name of our exchange partner....better early than hustling later. Here is the linen I dyed...

I used Rit Tan and plain white....I love the way the red splotches come out. I gathered and then rolled it in on itself when I put it in the bath.....really love the way it turned out. I like to dye my linen.....fun to experiment. So far they have always turned out to my liking.
Today is errand day...just a few...with these hot dog days upon us I was wondering if anyone would like to do a an inexpensive and easy exchange------A Friendship Exchange----just a postcard exchange. Just leave me an email with your snail info. Just another way to connect with a friend or make a new one.
Glad you stopped by today...have a pleasant day.
