A full moon, a hummingbird and a pink doll

Watching this magnificent yellow full moon rise was ..... well, it was hard to explain. But watch it Mr H and I did.  Once it appeared, it did not take very long for it to rise high above us. I never get tired of watching the night-time sky.... always wondering if someone is watching us too.
Yesterday was a go to market for food and stitch day. My Round Robin is almost complete and since my partner has said she will mail early, I probably will also. I hope she likes the design I chose for her and I do plan to stitch it for myself.  I also finished Pink Doll.....

now Lavender Doll has company on the shelf. Found just the right trim at Jo Ann's and I am really pleased with her beaded purse and hair flower. I just love the beads! I have everything ready for the Green Doll.... but I think I will wait on that. I have been practicing with the Big Foot Free Motion attachment... it will take some doing to get just the right stitches. Also bought a book, right, you are not surprised that I would find another book.... and I can not blame Esther for this one! on free motion quilting for beginners. Let's face it, I am just a push over for books.
Mr H and I did some yard work, well, to be honest I just stood around hoping he would not fall off the ladder. The Honeysuckle has gotten so tall he just had to trim it. I did put the cuttings in a pile...... I am not much on doing yard work. While we were out there, this fellow stopped by..

such a sweet young hummer. He almost crashed into the back of Mr H and then whizzed by my head causing me to flinch. It was a wonder he did not pull my hair! he was so close. Until an older hummer came by, he was content to sit just a foot or so away from us letting me take this picture.  They are the most adorable birds around. Their wings make a whizzing sound and they are so fast. Here one minute and then poof, they are off again. Did you now that they must eat every 15 minutes? This juvenile Anna's Hummingbird was a delight to spend time with. Speaking of time, I must say thank you for spending your time with me and for the kind words. I have not been very good about responding this past week, I do promise to be better. Right now my stomach is grumbling for breakfast and a cup of coffee.... I hope you have a wonderful day.

A different kind of snail

A very windy day, again today. The wind chimes are singing both out front and here in the back of the house. A lovely chorus. The Snail vine is showing lots of buds....

and several open flowers...alas, they are delicate but no fragrance to them. They only last a few days but then a few more open. Found another stray petunia in bloom this morning. I just read that it has seed pods that can be saved. I will have to watch for them. I think it would be fun to share them.... so we shall wait and see if I find any!

This poor thing is directly on our walking path... must remind Mr H to look before walking. I so hope I can get this post finished...blogger keeps putting up a pink strip with an error occurred message! I will try to continue! I am in charge!
I found my bag of fiberfill this morning so I can finish the Doll.... just need to collect a weight for her base. I found a trim in the trim box but it is just a bit too short...so, today I will pick up some. Yesterday I practiced free motion quilting with the new attachment I bought. I will need practice for it is not as simple as I thought to keep in a pattern.. or should I say keep a pattern looking good. Would you like another peek at the quilt?-------

love this pink fabric. It is the backing... with a bit of machine embroidery here and there. I pressed it again today.. I will be taking it to work to show a few of the gals I work with. I plan to mail it out after Memorial Day...don't want mailing problems around the holiday. The sweet child is certainly changing day by day.... one of these days I will post another picture. I don't want to be too pushy! or bore you with my gushing over this baby. Her mommy was a very important part of our lives for the first 11 years of her life, so her baby is a special one. Distance does not change feelings or dictate closeness. Love is love whether here or 3,000 miles away. So far so good with this posting.... have not seen that message again.... guess I told someone who's boss! Anyway, so glad you visited with me today..... I hope you have a great day. Sneek peek and the arbor

What a beautiful morning...cool breeze.... but, the weekend is going to be hot...maybe 105 or so. Everything in the garden looks great including the arbor Mr H bought one month ago....

Amazing how fast the Snail Vine is growing. It actually grows a few  inches a day! Yesterday I found a strand entangled in the Hibiscus bush. It took some doing but I redirected it to the arbor. Mr H hoped it would cover the arbor and by the looks of just one month, it most likely will do so. Yesterday was spent just relaxing and stitching. I finished the quilt....

 sorry for it being sideways...but I do not know how to turn it here on the blog. It is in the correct position in my pictures file...anyway, you can see a little of it.... I love the border print.... I will tell you that the quilt is not perfect, but for one that is my first after 20 or so years, I am pleased. It just needs the label on the back and voila, complete. I can not wait to start another.  I also have been  stitching on my RR piece and must say that I really like the design. My partner and I have emailed a few times... nice to get to know one anther a little. The Doll is also almost complete. I need to get out the fiberfill and find just the right trim for the edge. I just may get to it today. I also am getting a RAK ready.... they are fun to send and of course to receive. That is about it for today. So glad you found some time to visit.... have a wonderful day.
