Morning darkness

In the morning darkness I look out from the kitchen into the garden and see a lovely glow from the spotlight on the tall grass as it glows from behind the large planter pot. The silhouette of a few ornaments can be seen. It is quiet and I am having the first cup of coffee. This is my think time...what will the day be, what do I need to do and what do I want to do. the reality is that the plans most likely will be different as the day becomes light. The season is changing and sunrise is now later, around 6:06 AM.  Now if only the temp would change and the cooler below the mid 100s would also arrive.
I found this huge spider web across my rosemary bush.... I hardly ever find a web in the garden. I so admire how intricate it is like a fine piece of lace.
Yesterday I made some Pizzelles and thought I would assemble the star...
I may look okay but is definitely is not and today will be the let's begin this all over again. In my attempt to follow a video and thinking  ...key word thinking... that I was doing it correctly, I was not and the result is shall we say really awful. What I think (that word again) is that my problem in part is the finish of each piece where I omitted a bead therefore causing the assembly to be wonky. I am a patient person...yes Glenda only when I am crafting I admit, and will just start over taking this apart. It is only thread and time. Speaking of Glenda she came by for tea and Pizzelles yesterday, taking a break for moving, She and Don will be moving across the way a street away. Glad to say she is feeling better. Sis Lynowl is also but not Lisa....so keep them in your thoughts.
Let's talk about my bunny. Yes he is back. He briefly visited his spot outside my bedroom window but it seems he is now preferring to come into the garden and rests in the grass area in the picture above  once he has skipped around to the various plants. A safe haven for him. I should get some laundry swishing and bed linens changed and …. but I think for now I will enjoy my coffee and Pizzelles and see if I can find a movie to watch. I can do that. Oh, and did you remember that The Brother Alan and Lisa are coming...just 10 days! Hate to rush off but my coffee is getting cool. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. Thank you most of all for your friendship.

Call off the Posse

Keeping busy while trying to relax and do little to nothing is tough...for me. I really do try to pace myself but sometimes think I need a watchdog. I tried to patch the holes.....but I needed to buy more spackling so off to Lowes I went and received advice...not from an employee but a man who watched me and said I looked puzzled. Very nice to advise me and also on the caulking I need for my patio walkway. So, I will sand the area I spackled and apply more to even out the patch. Did I mention that I only need a small amount of ceiling paint and Lowes had not one small can?! The gal in paint said "we did have a big sale" and walked away. I had to move out the fridge to do the patch and will again to fix. One more time on the step ladder...I hope.
I walked into the kitchen yesterday afternoon and kept seeing some fluff moving about. I picked up the camera and when I quietly and slowly got to the window...there he was. The tiny bunny! Do you see him at the top left? Of course I can not say for sure, but he looks like the bunny who pooped on my lanai and rested outside my bedroom window. Yesterday there was a Quail family in his spot! Anyway, he remained in the garden poking around and nibbling at plants for a couple of hours and I am not sure how long he had already been there. I feel much better...he could be the same bunny.

Once I finished spackling, I spent time with my beading....
All 5 pieces are ready to assemble.... now that will be the challenge. I will hopefully be able to do this with little difficulty. I started to outline one section. I am still trying to find a pattern to purchase but so far not seeing one that I really want to make. I really enjoyed beading this and look forward to making more; plain for now.
I have been awake for a few hours and have yet to make coffee....I need my morning coffee. Glad you are here but I really must grind some beans. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship. Thank you also for your special thoughts for sis Lynowl and friends Lisa and Glenda. Not nice when people you care about are not feeling well.

Cloudy morning with beads on my tray

A cloudy start to the day and black coffee. When I made my coffee this morning I forgot to add the meager amount of milk that I usually have and then realized that I was drinking my coffee black. I may be onto something new for me. Anyway, and update on the MIA bunny is that he is still MIA. His spot is empty and who knows maybe he went on vacation to another area of the courtyard. It is nature and we learn to adjust.... but I do miss that cute bunny.
I am ready for the next phase of the removed cupboards...patching the holes left from the screws. Last year Don showed me how to fill in using spackling.... I do have a tool that I need to look for but if all else fails I have a plastic knife. I will need to pull out the fridge to reach the area and I will definitely do so slowly. This is maybe today or tomorrow or the weekend. I am learning not to be impatient.... I am trying to be more patient.
I have been so pleased with myself...here is my new beading project...a 5 pointed dimensional peyote star. Well, it is the start of it. The piece in the center is one completed point and I am working on piece #2. I love working with tiny delica beads. I am working on a plain one and will make a few like this until I am totally comfortable with the process then move on the one with a design. There are 10 pieces to form the star. I love this dimensional beading so I can see more of it on my beading tray.
I see a little sun beginning to appear. It will be a warm day, actually still hot weather.  I hope the temps start to cool for the arrival of The Brother Alan and Lisa in 12 days...12 more days.

Lisa has not been feeling well so I am hoping that by the time they board the plane she is okay. There is a horse out here waiting to take her on a tail ride. they will be trying a new stable because the usual one is not riding here in The Valley during the hot weather. They are up North until the end of September and it is a distance to  drive. One day I am sure they will take the drive and it will be an overnight trip, just to make it more enjoyable. The area is about 2 hours North and we have gone there to a rodeo and it was tiring after a full day to drive home at nightfall. Anyway, soon they will be here. I am happy that you are here visiting. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.
😟Special request....sis Lynowl, friend Glenda and Lisa need special thoughts as they all are not feeling well. Please keep them in your thoughts.

Where is he?

Terrible sleep...actually very little sleep is what I should say. It will be a very long day. We seem to be having a partly cloudy start to the day. I must say thank you to Bobby and Dianna for removing the kitchen cupboard...always ready to help. And Bobby did not even need to use a step stool! I need to patch the screw holes, but we are ready for the new fridge...when we get it. Goodness, that will be in a couple of weeks.
I had to take apart the second feather I was beading....was not happy with the bead placement and lack of whatever. I think I will do something else while I try to figure out the pattern. Right now I am too tired to think about that. Clothes are swishing and I need a coffee refill.

I must fill a missing bunny report. The Posse is out looking ….Yes, the bunny has not been to his resting spot for 2 days....not once. So, there are no signs of foul play but I will say I am concerned. I just do not know where he could be. His spot remains dug out and waiting. I probably should not count yesterday as it was landscaping day and there are never any bunnies out when they are here making noise. But still, I will watch for him today.
I would like a nap but I have things to do before my 1 PM appointment today. Definitely need that coffee. It is always a pleasure to have you stop by but I must get that coffee and maybe an English muffin for energy. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.

Oooh Bunny and a feather

I must remember when I clean the ceiling fan blades in the kitchen not to switch off the main switch to the fan. I cleaned it yesterday after talking with sis Lynowl about the fact we both had to clean our fans. This morning the kitchen fan would not work. Try as I may I could not get the fan or the light to come on. Then it dawned on me to check the main switch and sure enough I had turn that off. Mind you, I have cleaned this fan several times in the year since Denny has not been here to do it and this was the first time I did that. The other 3 fans do not have this particular switch so that is good. This kitchen fan has several different on/off tabs and I do not know why.
I have been watching....
this baby bunny...ooh he is so adorable! This is the depression that he has made outside my bedroom window under the huge Yucca plant. Did you know the Spanish pronoun it "you-ka". Anyway, he is tiny, probably only 8 inches from nose to tail. Huge black shiny eyes. My worry is that if a coyote comes along there is no escape route for him as this spot is a "u" shape space and only 5 feet wide. Only out is forward, so I try to check on him periodically just in case I need to run out to make a rescue. Think I better find the stick Dennis used to keep at the front door first!
Well, I worked on the beaded feather.
I do like it but it is not as the picture and I followed the graph pretty carefully. I do know that I did not start it as in the directions as I mentioned before Zina and I were not sure how to do it that way and make the count come out correctly. Even the shape of mine which matches the diagram is not like the picture! I will make this again to see if I can figure it out better, but all in all it is not bad looking. It measures about 2 inches long.
Plans for today...none. I am taking the day off. What I mean is, no laundry, no Bissell walking or Swiffer in hand. A me day....
Yesterday I decided to move the stereo system. To my surprise it fit where I wanted it to go and when I re-connected it...it worked! Part one of a few moving parts. Can not work out in the garden so I find work inside. The next few moves require planning and larger items...not rushing to get it done, at least not today. Still thinking if I do this then I would do that then I could...well, you know how it goes. It is still dark out and so quiet.... I can not check on the bunny who I will assume goes back to his hutch beneath the large Prickly Pear Cacti once it is dark out. It is so nice to chat with you...thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by... thank you most of all for your friendship.
