What part of relax do I not understand

re·lax.....
VERB
make or become less tense or anxious----rest or engage in an enjoyable activity so as to become less tired or anxious------ to spend time resting or doing something enjoyable especially after you have been doing work.
It all started when I decided to put something into the bedroom closet. It all started when I had to move one thing to make room for another thing. It seems my life is still in the re-arrange stage. Trying to make things easier. But it first started when I went out to the yard to put yard trash out. Then I finally potted the petunias and found a spot for the pot. I realized the hummer feeder needed refilling. I also put the original back out front as the hummer was not happy with this new feeder. The new feeder is now in the back with the other feeder. Well I remembered I had a few things to toss out so back into the house and then it started....So now that my back feels like I have been kicked, and everything is where it out to be... it will be for at least now, I will sit and try to figure out what I am not doing right.
I have made Tenerife before using an older model of Gina's form. This new one....well I am not doing something right. So, I will cut off the threads and start over. Could be that I began this at 9 PM last evening and was a bit tired. The weather is still in the lovely phase...comfortable to sit out and relax...there is that words again. It is overcast which is a nice change from the hot beating sun.  My dental appointment is not until this afternoon so there is time to get this right. I really should try to get this shelf off the floor and on the wall. I think I will make a cup of tea and go sit outside and relax.
Glad you stopped by today. Thank you for the kind words and for your friendship. Let's try to relax shall we?

What is wrong with me !

I need a good time out. First I should say BOO ! It is Hollow's Eve. Then I should tell you why I need a slap. I have been awake since 1 am and I was in such agony with my leg. I did see the Pain Management doctor who decided it was time for injections. Okay. I made sure the Med Tech would remain to hold my hand. There was the first one just below my knee, not too bad. Then there were 4 along the hip/hip bone area. These were painful and I suggested that there should be a grab bar on the wall as pushing the wall did not really help. I left there with the plan to come home, make an antipasti salads and have it outside and read for awhile. The weather was gorgeous. This I did. Then I knew it would be best to just rest the leg. I did.
Fast forward to this morning. I told myself to have a cup of hot tea and maybe I would fall back to sleep. Not to happen. Problem...as I lay there in pain I used the gel medication and took a Naproxen. After awhile it began to ease the ache and I was no closer to sleep. So---my mind began to wander. I put a wash on (now 5 am) and when I returned to the bedroom I said, I think I can re-purpose this nightstand to a TV stand thus eliminating the large TV stand that I do not like or need.
the room is a totally disaster and I plan to organize it a little a ta time as I do not have much energy left.  But I gained some space and it is less crowded in the corner. Now to get the old stand out of the room. Finally  at 7 am it was accomplished but not without difficulty. I had such trouble taking the screws out for the draw runners (there are 2 drawers). Once that was accomplished I had to unplug the cable box, the combo DVD/VHS player and then the Blu-ray layer. Of course what is unplugged must then be re-plugged....oh my goodness what was I thinking. Now Alan, before you scream at me----especially since we talked and you were happy about my relaxing more and having days-off, I know. I will probably regret this all later. For now I am proud that I accomplished this task. I promise not to do anything strenuous for the next few days at least!
My intentions once I was up early was to post about the Snail Vine...
Just look at how fast it is growing: #1 is today, #2 is September 17 and #3 is October 17. I love this vine and the many blooms of snails.
Are you still in the mood for more stuff? If not I understand. If so....
I sent for a new Teneriffe kit from Gina-B Silkworks in the UK
I have another kit but this is an updated one. I know the basics but these directions are baffling...I will enjoy playing with it I am sure. Thanks to USA Customs it sat in LA from October 17th and just arrived Saturday...what were they inspecting it for??? Glad it finally arrived. So, that is my story and sad to say I am crazy.
The laundry is finished, I need must have my morning coffee and I think a Pizzelle would be good. I am not even going to look at my bedroom for the next few hours. I will get dressed and sit outside and read for a time. One task at a time. Sorry it is a long post, but hey, I had to tell someone what I did. The Brother Alan is going to be short with me, but it will pass. Just when I think there is no more to move I see something. This is finally it though...it is!
Thank you for reading all of this and it is okay if you did not. Thank you for the kind words and most of all your friendship. Time to relax....

I have show and tell today!

First I want to say a huge thank you for the concern/advice regarding my eyes. I am feeling much better now that I have been using the eye drops. Secondly, I returned to have my eyes re examined and am comfortable with the situation so I ordered my glasses. Hopefully in 2 weeks they will be ready and I can return to cross stitching. On to the fun stuff~~~~~~
I joined in the thimble exchange that KimM organized. I sent to 2 gals, both in Spain. I received my thimble from Montse in Spain yesterday...
Wonderful gifts with the thimble.... a pattern booklet and several other patterns and she even stitched something for me. I also received an email from someone who read a post of mine someplace and wants to do a thimble exchange! Of course I said yes. Then I convinced my sweet little frog pitcher to become a pincushion...
These frogs I have mentioned somewhere along here in the past.... they belonged to my paternal grandma. For as long as I can remember they were in her kitchen above the stove. When she died I got them....I loved them as a child and cherish them now. Sadly I have no one to pass them on to.
Anyway, the little one now has a pincushion made from a scrap of fabric that I have had for ages. Just the right print and look.
As I have not been able to cross stitch, I decided to hand stitch.
I gathered ups some scraps and 2 cd's and beads and a piece of Teneriffe, buttons and trim and this is what I did...a bit of crazy quilting into a pincushion. So, vision or not, I have tried to keep busy. I plan to do another one soon. Today we are having a cloudy day...nice for a change. We might even get some rain. I must dash off now as I have a meeting with one of the homeowners and then with my computer guru to help with my external drive that I just plugged in. A busy morning. I had the week off but will be going in tomorrow....usually Saturday's are busy. So off I go~~~~~~glad to spend some time with you. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Almost a good morning

I have been fighting a simple cold for this past week. Saturday and Sunday were spent doing absolutely nothing...well, almost. I started a project...and finished this morning
It started with me buying the Quilter's iron....top left corner and then planning how to store it. Found the placemat and added some felt to "close" the pockets then added buttons and elastic to close it all. Feeling pleased with it. There are times when pulling out and setting up a full size iron for a simple seam is just a nuisance. It is made by Clover and with my Jo Ann's coupon for 50% off, well I could not resist. I also bought the larger size iron end also with a 50% off. Simple but effective Iron roll. The buttons I found in my button jar on a card that said 69 cents!...imagine how long I have had them!  Thank you for the kind words regarding my Teneriffe Pincushion...it all started with a small kit...
It is from Gina B Silkworks that I sent for.It came with a dense foam piece, a plastic template, pins and needles. The directions were clear enough and I then started to search the web for more ideas. The posted pincushion was the result of a class however. The designs are endless. All depends on the pattern you weave. This kit makes motifs that can be added to anything as opposed to the one I did which is stitched directly on a foundation fabric. So much fun to try and to learn new things.... I really do love my counted cross stitch, but at times I need to do something else. Poor Red, she must think I have left her in the woods to fend for herself..... I will try to sit with her today. Right now I think some Tylenol, tissue and a cup of coffee and toast is what I need. We are headed for a warm day in the 80s. Did I mention that last week I started to play around with some crazy quilting for a pincushion? Have a good day my dear friends.....

Multi tasking morning

It is one of those injuries/cuts that you cannot explain. It is in a awkward spot to heal. Forget trying to do anything without saying ouch( when not the other kind of words) on and off, never mind keeping a band-aide on it. Good thing for spell check! I have been doing laundry, stitching, and laundry. Moving right along. Yesterday I joined my friend at her monthly stitching group and was made to feel welcome right away. I was also able to join in this month's project, Teneriffe. I know how, but decided to join in anyway...
just need to do the finish now. It turned out quite southwestern in looks. We were supplied a fabric swatch and a pattern and Watercolor threads. The design is mine as we were just shown the basics. Mr H and I enjoyed sitting in the yard yesterday afternoon. The temps have been in the 80's so many of the bushes that would be blooming in April are already looking lovely. The Snail Vine is one of them...
I just love the unique bloom and of course it is lavender. I think this vine's tendrils  grow a couple of feet over night! Such a pleasure to sit and enjoy color all around the  yard. The last of the laundry is in the dryer.... laundry is on the clothesline, and I am ready for another cup of coffee and some stitching. Think today I will give Red Riding Hood some attention. Thank you for taking the time to visit and thank you for your  kind words and friendship.... hope you have a wonderful day.

You say TGIF I say...

TGIS....Thank Goodness It's Saturday! To say that I am happy this is the end of my work week, I kid you not! We have been super busy and not everyone shopping has been a happy camper. Great sales and coupons brought many to Jo Ann's this week. Must say that we also had lots of youngsters in during the day... not so usual. There was the little 4/5year old boiy who was prepared to kick me...but that is another story. Today I will tell you about my kit that arrived in yesterdays mail.
This is the Teneriffe Lace starter Kit from Gina B Silkworks in the UK. The cost was $14.99 but ended up costing me $30.48....I am glad to have it, but at the same time a little disappointed. Looking at the picture, you will see instructions and the pins to use with the "Reusable Polyester Template" that is  pinned to the sponge foundation with sequin size pins. I tried the motif #1.....admittedly, it is not perfect, but I was unsure of some of the directions when it came to the finish part. The patterns included are for 4 motifs, each a little bigger than the other. I now know that I can use the flower template that I have to get a motif like this one. I really want to make some that I have seen on the various web pages.... very pretty and petal like motifs. I may be able to duplicate the woven patterns. Oh I guess I just expected more. I will try the next motif....just not today. Did I mention that this past Wednesday I stitched with Sweet Jeanne? I will soon post a picture of her completed "first work". She is busy making an ornament for our group exchange....and she will be offering her sampler pattern to one of you! You would love her... she is a delightful lady and I am happy to share a morning each week with her. This Sunday our  Tatting ladies meet. I am still tatting my icicle...think I found the beads for it.... and got out my supplies for spider making....
Mr H is doing a nice job with the cabinet re-do. It is not the sanding/painting that is the time hog, it is the poly coating. It will be nice when it is finished and new hardware is put on. My room re-do is going to be after this...not that I am rushing him or anything...but I have mentioned it a few times. He is so patient with me. Did I mention to you that I tell him often that he is lucky to have me in his life? It usually is said this way..."this has been the best 43 years of your life". He usually gives me "the look"! Actually it is me who is so very lucky to have him!
Thank you for coming by today.....thank you for the kind words and emails...hope you have a great day.
