Partly cloudy with garden work and a bauble
I took advantage of the temps being only 77 at 6 am to get all the clippings into the trash for pick-up tomorrow. Temps today may reach 107 later today. Just about filled a 39 gallon bag. A few have asked why I am so concerned with the garden clean up. First, I love my wild "fluffy" look of the plantings that Dennis established but the important thing to remember here in dry Arizona is that all these leaves that fall and dry so quickly in the heat are a fire hazard. Yes, a fire fuel for any spark or sun made spark. Just this past week a trailer truck dragging a chain cause a wild fire that started on June 4 and quickly spread to almost 5,000 acres. Many fires are cause by human error.... including those who smoke and toss the cigarette out of the car window. So my friends, not trusting anyone around me, I prefer to keep as clean a garden of dried material as possible.
The Fire Cracker bush is in full glory and the hummers love the nectar. Also provides nice branches to rest in the shade. The Doves in the Sweet Memory tree are still in panic mode …. not sue what they will accomplish flying out of the nest each time I am on that side of the garden. Lucky for them it is still too hot for me to be out there!
Yesterday the visit to the doctor for the x-ray report, revealed what he found with hands on exam.... I have a curving spine to the left and some disc narrowing as well as some arthritis. So relieved that it is nothing more. Going for bone density test to see how much Osteoporosis is there. So, Dr. Paul gave me 3 or 4 injections (once numb I was not sure of the needle pricks) along the area and so far I am feeling better. Of course going into the garden this morning right after the injections was not the best move but it had to be done while it is cool and early.
Another beaded bauble ornament....
While waiting for the online order of the crystal dagger drops I am experimenting with some beads that I have. Not too bad and this time using clear seed beads adds a different look. I have also found that I need to alter the pattern accordingly to the large bauble and the seeds that I am using. Not all are exact in size. Loving this ornament and looking forward to them dangling in someone's home as gifts. Of course these can be displayed year round too.
Time to rest the back and later I return to the ankle/foot specialist for follow up on that injection. Seems like I will be doing the doctor rounds now. Age related right AnnB.
Off I go....glad you stopped by. Thank you for the kind words and for your friendship. Your encouraging words during the difficult time is heart warming and only emphasizes the blogging world cares for one another. 💔

The beaded bauble
Monday the temp was 110...they said a cool down and yesterday was 107. Right now it is 75 and only should be 105 by later today. No matter, it is still hot. It means no garden work for me and actually if I do not have to be anywhere I will be inside..... possibly beading.
This is the 2nd one and it is just right...good tension and better than the first one. I am seriously thinking of taking apart the first one to re-do.... but not yet. Today I will order the dagger beads that hang at the end of each strand. I do wish that the local craft places and even the bead shop nearby had what I need.
I should update you on the new Dove nest. I have been hoping that they settle down when I approach the area. Unlike the couple on the clock nest, these two panic and fly off. It is unavoidable that I go there each day to check the pond water. Not sure how they like the hummer who is always in the tree as it is where the feeder is hung and the hummer sits. I will say that the Doves are nicely hidden from first looks.
Yesterday was Lumbar x-rays and today back to the pain specialist most likely for the injections. I just want to be able to function better. The beading was a bit of a stretch for my hand but I did take my time and did only the one bauble. Lots of medication afterwards rubbed into the area. About mom.... EvaP is doing well. Seems to be accepting that placement in a care facility is just what she needs. So far she is attending not only her therapy but social events and activities. She love mail so I am sending something every other day..... cards, post cards and letters. My friend Joan who works there is stopping by weekly to visit also. This relieves us of worry about her.
Guess that about covers what is going on here. It is always nice to chat with you and receive your emails and comments. Thank you for your kind words and your friendship.
This is a difficult month for me. It was a year ago today that The Brother Alan and I admitted My Denny to Hospice.....It was a lovely place with kind attentive nurses that helped me get through each day. It was a difficult decision but the only option available for Denny and me. To this day it still hurts my heart.

Where is the sun?
Seems like it will be some clouds above for awhile. Not to worry... the temps guarantee that it will be sunny and hot again today. The temp hit 106 yesterday and more for the rest of the week. Indoors is where you will find me until the doctor appointment later today. I guess I should tell you about the nest. Unfortunately the Dove couple decided to put it in a tree by the pond where I must go to each day and they do not like me being so close to their home. Guess they should have paid better attention to where they constructed the nest. So yes, it is another Dove nest and the first time it has ever been in this spot. Not sure if there are eggs yet.
This is what has been keeping me busy. Not the best to show the large crystal bauble. I plan on a few more for Christmas gifts. It could be better but not bad for the first time weaving beads around the bauble and such. Big thanks to Catherine for all the help. I will need to order the dagger beads (at the bottom) on line as no one around here has them. Even the bauble I could not find. So much for supporting your local businesses.
Yesterday was a sibling first.....The Brother Alan, sis Lynowl and I Skyped....lots to chat about and laughs too. this was the first time we had a 3 way call and I see more of them in the future. I have been out of bed since 4 and I think I could use a nap already. Guess I will just go and curl up on the sofa and catch the morning news.... or not. Maybe I will read for a time. Anyway, time to say ciao and thank you for visiting. Thank you also for the kind words and your friendship.
