A Rainbow

The clouds rolled in late yesterday and with it a few drops fell but did not land but there was the rainbow
and it was lovely to see. The sky was hauntingly grey. the thought of rain was there but the few drops were really only virga rain. Today is overcast and cool with an easy breeze. The music from the garden is loud and clear as well as the sounds from the front yard chimes.
The fronds glisten on the palms as they bend and whip in the winds. We have 9 ....50+ foot palms in our courtyard and they sway and bend when the winds are blowing. It is amazing to see. As I sit here and look out to the garden the breeze is becoming wind and the buoy bell is sending out it's warning to any passing ship to beware; .... actually that would be a warning to the Dove couple to be careful out there. They are just getting ready for the shift change. The crow has already been here so it is safe for them to be showing where the nest is.
Having rested the hand for a few days I am ready to take needle or shuttle in hand today! I get restless when I can not be creative. The laundry is swishing and the Bissell and Swiffer  is at the ready. Still waiting for the House Faeries to show up.... they have about an hour to do so before I have to do it myself. So nice to chat with you today. Thank you for the kind words and for your friendship.

It's official....

A beautiful cool morning here, yes we are in a "cool down" from the mid to high 90s to the high70s. The afternoons have been quite windy but I do not mind because the buoy bell and the many chimes just sound lovely. Not happy about the debris that lands here. The garden is a corner property so everything lands here.
Not only is the garden in bloom, one of my violets is too! Look how bright white and sparkly the petals are. After Denny passed it seems my violets did too. Once there were 6 here in my kitchen window now only 2.  The crow just announced his arrival to the pond for a drink. He swoops in and out. The sliders and front door are open to let in the breeze. I thought I was doing laundry...but forgot to add the clothes into the washer....so now I have a very clean washing machine. Repeat process: click on, add Tide, add clothes close machine lid.
Do you see what is on the clock? It's official, there is a nest with a Dove couple! I actually considered taking this clock down but guess it is still prime housing. It does offer good protection with the front as it is and it is under the overhang. The male is sitting on the wall waiting for his turn on the nest. She is there all evening and they will switch shortly. Amazing how they are. Unfortunately they have been using my Plumeria as the jump-up to the nest. That will end today when I move it from under the nest.
The hand has been too sore to stitch... still. I hope to try today even if only for a few minutes at a time. The bite however is much better. The antibiotic is working but of course I am having a few of the side effects.... tiredness when I first take it which is not bad at night as it has helped with sleeping, mild headache and stomach issues but  I am dealing with it. Today the A/C is due for the Spring check-up so at home I will be. I do have a few things to do around here to keep me busy. With that, I think I will have breakfast so I can do the chores. So nice that you stopped by today. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.

Never a dull moment....

The expression really applies here...never a dull moment around here. My hand has not allowed me to handcraft.... the weather is quite hot for sitting outside.... trying my best to be in with technology.... oh the list can continue. Thursday was the last time I swept the garden of debris.... the doctor thinks it best to take a break for a few days. Yes, you read doctor. I visited him on Saturday morning. You see it seems I got a bite in a not exposed area of my lovely body and I now require an antibiotic. Amazingly after only two dosages and it is looking better and feeling better too.
Now let's talk about my new found texting. As much as I learn there seems to be more I need to learn. I thought I had it pretty much in my brain.... wrong. The last few days I have been sending texts to sis Lynowl and she has not responded! I thought what is wrong with her!? I know our Skypes can be challenging but this ... others get my texts and respond. Finally in frustration I actually made a phone call to her. I know that a couple of times I had tried to send to her home line but then I found how to set her cell number for default. Well, the texts have been going to Rhode Island ...but not to her. It seems I had the wrong number (?!) and someone in Bristol RI got them (not Cranston RI). I hope he is enjoying them! Okay, now it is straightened out.  I know because last evening she sent me a thumbs up emoji.... I have conquered.
How about an update in the garden since there is no needlework to share?
On my morning stroll I picked a handful of tomatoes. I am amazed that I am still finding them on the plant.... guess it is not ready for trash yet. Then of course there is the "alien" Snail Vine
It is no longer an arbor but a wall. Of course I could have trimmed it all along but the blooms have been so many that it looked too pretty to tame. I do like the free look in the garden and not a formal look to plants. I have been so happy with my Plumeria.
I was not sure if this was going to grow. It is the stalk that Dianna and Bobby brought me from Hawaii in October and it is showing real signs of blooming! It is growing a bit crooked but my plan is to rotate the pot every few days to encourage it to straighten on its own. The root system is very delicate so I do not want to damage it trying to dig around it.
Oh and by the way... yes, I did remove a comment left here the other day. Unfortunately we cannot control who stops by and what someone may comment. I know I can set up moderation but I prefer not to...yet. Which means any rude, insensitive or inappropriate comments will be removed....I have spoken. Nice to know I still have some control around here.
Now my antibiotic taken, hand medication applied and coffee in the mug....ready for a new adventure. Reading is what I will be doing today. Thank you for caring and for spending time with me and for your kind words and friendship.
