I love gadgets...

Last week when my sis Lynowl sent me the package, she included this

a gadget for one of my favorite foods...radishes. It has no directions but the picture is clear enough of what to do. Did I mention it is sharp? Well it is... but never the mind... it does cut the radish into a "flower" of sorts. The writing on the box is in German and it is from West Germany.
Why sis bought this is not known...I did ask her. She bought it quite some time ago... the shop is no longer open and the price tag is still on it, $12.95. I love to et radishes in a salad, on a sandwich or just in hand. Anyway, it is now in my gadget bowl with several other things.
Last night my friend Sherry and I had a very nice dinner at Applebee's... we were there 2 hours! Good food and wonderful conversation. I have this Saturday off... not a usual schedule, but I even have next Saturday off.  No plans... but those are the best plans to take the day as it is. Mr H is feeling so much better. I think we will finish trimming the Ficus this weekend. The temps here yesterday were a record for the date--- 93 and today's temp maybe 94. I will be enjoying the weekend outside for sure. Already had the house air on and of course in the car. The flowers in the garden are blooming... I will show a few pictures tomorrow. I have been stitching but no pictures to post..... I smell the fresh brewed coffee is ready so off I go. Welcome to new friends and thank you all for the kind words. Enjoy your day.

I think I have been lost...

I am not at all sure what happened to this week. I can not explain it. I can say that I met with Daniel from the Geek Squad yesterday morning to explain a few things about my tablet. I think I have it in my brain now. I know that I went to Wal-mart for my paper goods, coffee and tea. I did start a very small project for the Easter blog hop hosted by Jo. She is so clever to plan these hops...always has a fun idea. I did work on my leaves for my Hardanger...almost finished with that part. I think I have been playing with the tablet. I know I have. I figure that is how I will learn how to take advantage of the features. Our weather here in Arizona is getting hot...expected temp today is 90. Too soon for hot! Mr H and I spent a little time pruning the poor ficus tree... yes, Mr H is feeling better. Not quite himself yet, but better. I have a RAK ready to mail but I think it will be on my way to work tomorrow. Tonight I will be going out to dinner with a co-worker, (Sherry), plans are for Applebee's. Actually it is in the same parking lot as Jo Ann's that we can really just walk there. She is a great gal to work with and very knowledgeable on sewing clothing. She makes period gowns and other clothes. I am forever bothering her when a customer has clothing/pattern questions as I do no sew clothing.

My Tatting Shuttle and I are not speaking....

I have just put a second wash on... first one is in the dryer.... and need a nap! I have been awake since 3 AM and decided to try to tat with the shuttle. I get the first  one right, then poof... it isn't working. I do not know why I want to learn this when I can needle tat. I think now it is so that I win in the situation!
After a really busy work week last week, (my first back after the "bug") I am happy to have had Sunday and today off.  Yesterday The Geek Squad really helped me work with my tablet. Of course I did make a list of questions but of course I forgot a few! The on-line owners manual is not helpful enough. I plan to work on my leaves on the Hardanger piece. I have neglected it trying to tat. And since I finally have a library book on the tablet, maybe I will relax and read for awhile today. Did I remember to tell you that now Mr H is sick... poor thing... now he will have me nagging taking care of him! Unlike me, he is very good about keeping up with the medication routine. Ever since his bad health year (2011) his resistance has change. Normally he is able to fight off bugs really quickly.  But.... so far he is still cooking for me. What a guy! I know...no sympathy... I do, but what can I do? He has spoiled me and it is tough to undo that now after almost 43 years. I guess his hearing listening  to me rattle around the cupboards and fridge "quietly" muttering " what shall I eat", "I wonder if there is something easy to prepare"  could be why he is still cooking. I did manage to go food shopping all by myself yesterday! I took my list and still had to call home and still forgot a few items. What can I say. Okay, I will let him rest today and I will make do.
