A gloomy day

What a gloomy day it is... it has been raining all night and into this morning.  It rained yesterday.  My new car got all wet! I know we need this wetness, but I do hate driving in it.  Arizonans for the most part do not know how to drive in the rain ...  probably because they do not have enough practice! And because there is very little rain, the road oils are not washed away and it can be slippery when it rains....  I wonder just how many people will venture out to Jo Ann's today.
I have had a few days of not feeling well.  No, not the flu, just feeling off. Remember I told you that on Monday.  Well "it" is still here.  I did go in to work yesterday and will today, but I plan to make it as easy a day as possible. I have no stitch pictures to post today.....  I will tomorrow.  My BBD is ready to box and mail...  but I will wait until the February 11th date.  My humbug is looking good and almost to the beading stage.  I love to add the embellishments.   I have a start for my February book page. So, I have been a little busy, but slow busy. Glad you stopped by today... if you are in a cold snow place, stay warm... if you are in the rain...stay dry.  Hope you have a nice day where ever you may be!

The book is ready----

I joined as I mentioned a post or two back, the Needlework Masters SAL... and submitted my cover picture to Barbara
as well as my January page.  I decided to stitch a plastic sleeve to the back side of each page so I can insert a card with page info.  For January I chose Ribbon embroidery Iris's and a tiny knitted sock. The sock is correct in all ways including the heel turning!  The cover design is Little House Needlework "Needle and Thread". It has been just waiting for the right finish and so it has a place now. I suppose I could embellish the page more...we shall see.  Getting a couple of RAKs ready for mailing as well as my BBD Exchange piece.  I really like how it finished.I will post a picture soon. The day was absolutely beautiful yesterday.... enjoyed a short work with Mr H to a neighborhood store.  We did go buy some chocolates at the Mall...See's Candy.... one of my must haves!  Well, the coffee is brewed and I have some looking for an old pattern to do... I hope you all have a great day. Thank you for visiting with me today....

A quick update...

Just have time to post an update on Winter Humbug...
last to do is the bottom border then the pearls and beds...sewing together is a snap after that. More would have been accomplished if Mr H and I stayed home instead of taking advantage of the lovely day and  spent time outside.  Our temps are glorious this week...it read 77 yesterday afternoon. Today is work... so tomorrow may get the humbug finished. I also have started to put together my Masters Needle book. A co-worker, Julie, said she would help me wtith the grommets if that is the way to go with the cover...still not sure. All these decisions! Well, I need to have lunch so off I am. Have a great day.....

Monday can be an off day....

I do not usually mind Mondays... after all it is a day off from work, I have had the Sunday off  so I am rested. Today, not so. I woke with a minor headache, and it feels like all my body is aching.... no, not the flu, just an off Monday. Our Sunday football game was a loser. The Patriots lost to The Ravens... but I am not going to think about how bad they played. Move on...
I did more on Winter Humbug but haven't taken a picture yet..... tomorrow. I am trying to plan my Needlework Book for the Needlework Masters Monthly SAL that I decided to join just recently so I am a bit behind everyone else. I have all the makings, just have to get going. I hope to do that today. Like I said, this feels like an off day...to be honest its started yesterday! Finally our temperatures are getting back to normal so the urge to just sit outside is pulling me harder. I do enjoy taking my project outside either the front porch or the lanai....that might be a good thing for today. First there will be a few errands to run...then sit outside. I know some of you  are in the snow....I truly do not miss those days. But, I will admit that there was always something special about being the first to walk in a snow covered park, to be out very early while it was gently falling to the ground. Then the reality of having to get back inside and shake of the tiny frozen snow balls that cling to you and then to dry off and then to warm up....I do not miss the snow...well, maybe the thoughts are nice! I do enjoy looking at you wonderful pictures when I visit from the comfort of my kitchen....
The other day Mr H picked some lemons from the tree on our property....
He had also picked up a small watermelon from the market. The lemons smell wonderful but that watermelon was not as sweet as it looks! Then he decided to make a drink for me using the fresh lemons and some lemon sorbet and vodka...that was not very good. But those lemons smell so good.....
Well, the laundry is ready for the dryer, I need another cup of tea, and maybe, just maybe I will have the urge to stitch. Do have a wonderful day...see you all tomorrow.
