Updates.....

Pleased with how it is going but will be 24/7 for 5weeks more in sling. the fracture is too high on the shoulder for casting and he does not recommend surgery. I also saw the cardiologist. My Blood Pressure was low as was my heart rate. Back to daily taking my BP. I am building a reputation at the CORE Institute. All my surgeons are with this group so when I went to check in, the girl had this funny expression after entering my info. Yes I said, I was just here for Achilles surgery....my plan is to work through all the surgeons!

My arm is still very bruised and so very sore. Did I mention the doctor said I can sew slowly on my quilt...as long as I do not use the arm just the hand wrist. As much as I do not like and hardly ever take narcotic pain meds,  this is one time where I do at bedtime. This sling is not very comfortable and I spend lots of time adjusting it. It is what it is.

I got mail....from Kathy Harris. Thank you so much for the lovely selection. Another name on my friendship quilt!

Dianna came to visit on Wednesday. We had lunch and she learned how to make the Cathedral Quilt squares.

This is her first block. A block is 4 muslin squares and 4 windows. She chose the specific prints for the windows because of our lunch. I made an assorted greens salad and the choice of add ins including edible flowers. Our next stitch time will be in a week or so. Can't wait to see her next block.

Here is the quilt so far....loving it!

Okay, enough typing. Need to rest so I can stitch.....

Always happy to have you stop by. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. thank you for your friendship and adding to my quilt!

In the garden....

The weather has shifted back into normal temps which are in the mid to high 90s. What this means  is that anything outdoors is done early. Which means that tomorrow I will be in the garden before 9am to fix the irrigation issue. I am determined to get this done as I will not be out there watering the garden by hand. The Rosemary definitely is being pulled out. It was damaged in the move and is not going to revive itself. Sad as it has been here for 10 years.  Not sure if I have to replace the other plants yet. Right now the water lines first. I will remember to wear my garden gloves as I tore up my finger a little. I will need to rake up the rocks and re-lay the lines to see why they are not working.
Already organized to make the June Origami Star. My "June bugs" are lady bugs. This project is fun to make each month. Glad I chose and prepared the fabric for the 12 months.... makes it nice and easy.
Sad to report... the Dove nest is  just a nest. The Doves have not returned today and have been on the eggs far too long. Tomorrow out comes the step ladder and I will remove the eggs and clean it up a little. I hate to do it, but there is no way they are going to hatch without a parent keeping them warm. Nature is what it is.
This is the Mill Kill kit I will be working on. It is a Southwest on perforated paper. Of course there are beads! I started this before Denny was  ill and then put it aside. Time to finish it. The beading? Oh not giving up just putting the bumble bee project aside until I can be satisfied with the directions. Did find another pod and a couple of flat pieces to do.
Having some blood pressure issues. Trying to stay relaxed and not worrying about getting anything done. I am lucky to have a cheer leader in BC, Canada.... Debbie! Anyway, we all have issues to deal with, health or otherwise. What is good is that we are lucky when we have someone who listens and gives gentle advice. Which brings me to the next conversation. One of our fellow bloggers recently posted how she had received a few negative comments from the same person on her blog. That is not what we are about. Each of us blogs for our own personal satisfaction. It is wonderful when we get feed back but it should be kind and not insulting. If you visit a blog that is of no interest that day, move on. If you enjoy it, be sure to say so. I visit all the blogs listed on my sidebar. Sometimes I comment and sometimes I do not. I always end my blog with:
Glad you stopped by. (because I truly am) Thank you for your kind words. (they mean so much) and Thank you for your friendship. ( I value each of you).
What is friendship all about?
Friendship. Friendship is a close association between two people marked by feelings of care, respect, admiration, concern, love, or like.

Irish Lucky Pennies

The ten Irish Lucky Pennies are finished and I found the extra thread! I was not sure I would have enough of the Iris Pearl Cotton thread and could not find more until I spotted the last of it at Jo Ann's. My friend Mary Ann is giving these as gifts so she wanted them all to match.  Mary Ann brought the coins back from her trip to Ireland. Today we have a doctor appointment for Mr H.....and a few errands to accomplish. I visited with my Alice yesterday morning and hopefully I will soon have pictures to show. Right now, they would not be too interesting.  I would like to begin the next Brooch from the Tatted Ovals booklet and would like to start on Tatted Angel ornaments for Christmas gifts. Tuesday evening we had very high gusty winds and then the rain. The temps have fallen out of the high 80s low 90s for now so it is feeling chilly...I know, some of you are still with snow and still waiting for Spring weather. What can I say, we are spoiled. I picked 2 more tomatoes yesterday....they ae delicious when fresh from the plant. Tomato cucumber basil salad today on the menu. I am feeling better and my blood pressure is still up there but lower than last week. The doctor has requested  told me that I can have only 2 cups of coffee a day not the regular 4. I will be having some tests done soon to rule out additional issues. Your messages of good wishes have warmed my heart. In the scheme of things, I am lucky with my health.  Now if we can only settle Dennis' issues.....anyway, that is about the story for today. Glad you had some time to stop by. Thank you for the kind words and most of all for your friendship. Have a great day. Now where did I leave my shuttles......

New Broach

Well, the blood pressure is still high and today I am off to see my PCP. She called me late yesterday concerned so a visit and a chat and med adjustment. Since I am not feeling all that right, I think it is a good idea to see her. I finally made it to Jo Ann's yesterday for a few items and managed to finish another tatted broach
the flowers are tatted from the new book, 3D Flowers by Carolyn Craig...(love them all). Actually, these are a combination of her design and a little bit of my adaption.

Here is another view to show you the pearl inside the flower bud. Carolyn has lovely designs and I want to just make them all! I have been unable to purchase the type of backing she suggested for making them into pins, but for now I will just tat and scout on line for them. Here is what I have so far
Really enjoying these projects. I finally got the right thread to finish the Lucky Irish Pennies for my friend Maryann. That means these Broaches will be on hold while I finish the pennies. I have 6 to finish. It happens to be 2 AM...got little sleep so I am hoping that I will get tired enough to fall back to sleep....maybe a bit of TV and off I will slumber.  So, it has been nice chatting with you but I really need to doze off. Thank yo for the kind words and for you friendship....one sheep, two sheep, three sheep.........💤💤💤💤💤💤
