What a glorious sunrise.....

Is this not magnificent or what! The sky is glowing and breath-taking. There ae lots of clouds on the western side but this is too beautiful not to share with you. The temps have been very hot...107+ and today is expected to be 109/110. You know I will be remaining indoors. The little bit of cleaning in the garden and the lanai the other morning caused a moderate back pain but I am fine now....well as fine as I can be. The winds have brought such dust into the area and the dust is a fine as baby powder...gets in everywhere. I have stated another beaded star...this is part of a bead-along that took place last week.
I changed the suggested bead colors to more of my liking and so far I really like it. Each day a portion of the project was released and I am now just going along as are some others. It will be finished this weekend.
Hard to believe when I received the itinerary for The Brother Alan and Lisa's trip out here in June that it would finally be arrival time...yes, Tuesday is the day! Just in time the temps are suppose to drop a little. It may be around 100! Hopefully not too hot on the day they go horseback riding. I was asked if I was leaving any time for them to  enjoy their vacation....of course. The Brother Alan also has a list of things he needs to do and wants to do. He and Lisa will have plenty of time for this and that.... and me. We are lucky to have one another. Now, I really need another cup of coffee as the first one I had was around 2:30 AM... maybe a piece of toast with this one. So nice to chat with you....thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.
Now for a health report! I have not heard from Glenda as she and Don just moved but I think she is feeling much better. sis Lynowl is resuming most of her activities so she is also on the mend and Lisa is also feeling better. Thank you all for keeping them in your thoughts. Power in caring for one another! My aunt and uncle in NC are safe from the hurricane.....good news there too.

Stuck in the middle....

Blood drawn on the right....hours later the flu shot to the left....found myself humming the song, Stuck in the Middle with you. So this morning I wake with a sore right elbow area and of course the left shoulder sore. If that is not enough my doctor and I discussed my coping without Dennis. When I am asked how I am doing I say fine...okay...but in reality this year is harder for me. No, I am not showing signs of depression but I find myself more easily brought to tears.... feeling lonely;  not for people but for My Denny and lost. Please understand, I am not looking for "poor gal" or sympathy of any kind I am just stating a fact that I had not admitted. I did not have time last year to mourn my loss but it has come time now. Last year I ran around doing and trying to accomplish to prove to me or anyone that I could do it all and that I was strong. Well I am a strong person and I did accomplish lots. I also overdid a lot. Time for things to change. Needing help is not a bad thing. Moving on....
It seems the bunny is finding more time to hide in the garden and I am okay with that.... until there are flowers blooming in the Spring. Right now he is just poking around nibbling at grass and leaves. I am sure he will not be around as much when I start spending time outside...if ever the temps start o drop. Again today it is predicted to be around 108. Being indoors give me time to bead..
This is the selection for my next star...a mystery bead-along. It will be a flower pattern. I will start it today and it will be my first patterned star and first time following a graph for one. Should keep me busy and out of the heat.
I found this yesterday. Where are you asking and what is the issue? I have a dishwasher that I do not use...used a few times 13 years ago. I never feel the need to waste water and besides, there was only two now one of us and the dishes do not amount to that much. Simpler to wash, dry and put away. So, guess I should find someone who uses their dishwasher and send this to them. Oh you are wondering how I found this now after a year that I cleaned out the cupboards? It was in the dishwasher! We had planned to remove the dishwasher and add cupboards there and I guess I just put this in here.
I thought it was a bug scooting across the floor....
But no, it was only a round bead! I did drop beads last week and I guess this one got under the fridge and when I moved the fridge it must have come loose but yesterday while washing the floor I guess it worked it's way out. Just a I was ready to smash it, it stopped and then I realized I was afraid of a bead! Another interesting day here. Today will be a day of no shots, no medical work of any kind. The only need that will be around is the one for my beading! Glad to chat with you today....thank you for your kind words and concern for me. Thank you for your friendship.
4 days but who is counting....ME. The Brother Alan and Lisa will be here.

New star started

Finding time to visit with you...Several times yesterday morning I thought about coming to this page but then I would do something and then something else and did not make it here. Finally having my first cup of coffee so I though better do it now. A bit of an upset stomach to begin the day. I need to get to the lab this morning for some blood work , other than that I do not have plans. Well, I thought about going to the bead shop but we shall see.
I began a new beaded star yesterday afternoon....for my Christmas tree. I love making and giving away but I thought I better make one for  me first! The picture does not show just how sparkly the silver beads are... they do shine bright. I found another bauble that I want to try but need the beads of course. No matter how many are in my bead cabinet, I still need them for each new project. In this case it is the special stones and the size of the Delica and seed beads that I do not have. In other words I do not have any beads that can be used on the project!
The sun  rise is later and later and the sunset earlier now. This morning I have the kitchen window open and the front door;  the air is comfortable....for now. It will still be in the mid 100s later this morning and yesterday reached 107, so the heat is not gone yet. Just trying to enjoy the morning air while I can. I can hear the hummer chatting away.... announcing that he is here. The air is so still...not a leaf moving. I am tempted to go sit outside for awhile but we know that I will then want to play in the garden so today will not be the day.
Are you keeping up with the date? I know you did not forget...The Brother Alan and Lisa will be here in 6 days. Thankfully Lisa is feeling better. Glenda and sis Lynowl are better too. So all your special thoughts have helped. Now one for my Aunt Rose Marie and Uncle Tony who are in the Carolinas.... they will be moving inland while the hurricane is heading their way to a safer location.
Now I think I need to swish some  laundry and take the Bissell for a walk. I really need maid service! Glad to chat with you...thank you for stopping by. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts.
Some people come and go in our lives... then those who truly are friends are always there, always have the time and really do care...that describes all of you who visit and email and comment. Thank you for your friendship.

Oh my pink star

When I look out to the garden in these early hours and there is only darkness I can not help but wonder just what is going on under the grasses and between the pots and bushes. Are the lizards awake? Are the bees out and about yet? Yesterday I checked the tall grass where the bunny has been hiding and indeed he has a cleared spot to rest. It is a shaded area and a safe haven. Although the coyote can and I have seen them scale the 6 foot walls, they have never entered my garden. there was the morning that I opened the garage door and there it was, just outside the door in the driveway, but after we stared at one another for a minute he went his way and I closed the door. I wonder too, where the hummingbird is.....
Yesterday The Brother Alan decided that we would Skype...with mother Eva P. We kept is short as not to overwhelm her and it is difficult as she does not hear well. The Brother was a good interpreter---he would tell her what I was saying "in his own words" short and to the point and then tell me what she was saying. She is doing well and has adjusted to the nursing facility nicely. Eva P joins the baking, singing and craft groups daily and sends me mails notes to me frequently.
Ta Da! Yesterday I finished the beaded star....
It is not yet perfect...my center was not as smooth a join as I would like but a Swarovski crystal tucks it in nicely and the points are nice. The star measures 2 1/2 inches from point to point. I was happy to follow the clear pictures and written directions of Carolyn DeGroff. The video I watched was helpful but this was much better. I do see more stars in my future. Before I invest in the selection of beads to make a fancy star, I will make a few more of the solid type to hopefully get the center join perfect. I plan to send off and email to Carolyn to ask her advice.
Today..... well the only plans are to go to the doctor appointment and then the post office. I am in the mood for Fluffy Tapioca pudding so that will be made. Not much else being thought about right now... after all it is not yet 4AM. Time to grind the coffee beans and brew a cup of coffee and have a couple of Pizzelles. So nice to chat with you but I really need that coffee. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. Thank you for your friendship.
