Grow Your Blog

This is my first time joining in this party hosted by.....Vickie of 2 Bags Full. Some of you already follow me and I welcome anyone new.
I have been doing all types of needlework since I was 7 years old and taught by My Aunti Lucy to Crochet, my Aunti Angie to knit and all other learning was on my own...well, except for my newest adventure with Tatting and that is with my friend Debra teaching me. I really enjoy learning something new all the time. I have been blogging for 3 years and enjoy sharing my craft and life. My husband and I moved from Rhode Island in 2004 to our current home in Arizona. We love it and I can't think of ever going back to the East Coast. He is retired and I still work part time for Jo Ann the discount and sales. I will be celebrating my 67th birthday Feb 3rd and hope to continue to enjoy all that I do for many years to come. If you have not visited me before let me show you some of my work...

I am glad you stopped by and hope you will visit often. If you have time, look back on some of my older posts. Blogging has been wonderful for me. Meeting new friends from all over the world....learning from one another....being there for those days when friends really make a difference. I look forward to hearing from you....drop me a line and introduce yourself.

Playing catch-up

I was never good at playing baseball games..... not good at catching the ball is the problem. So here I am getting back into the swing of things and still behind. My first day back to work was not too bad although my 5 hour shift felt like 10 hours. The new pills for my cough are really working great so that is a plus. I have yet to pick up needle and floss or anything else for that matter....... maybe today. I have no pictures to share with you today. I am even behind on that.
Thank you for the get well wishes, they really do help. I have put my postal woe update at the end of my post so you would not have to read it if not interested. In the meantime, have a great day.
 Postal Update:
Went to speak with the local supervisor. He made a few phone calls then took my info.... name, rank address, serial number, telephone number and description of items. I could only give a hazy description. As I explained to him, it was a gift and I did not see what was being sent to me.  He was very nice and repeated a few times that he did not think any theft occurred. He feels the items will be found..... we shall see. The woman whose info was in my envelope still has not returned my call... In the meantime, I asked sweet Gaynor if she could send me a photo of what was in the package so I could properly identify my items when they find them.... and she did. Oh she sent me wonderful items. The supervisor told me someone would be contacting me..... so the mystery continues and I will hang in limbo.

Ready *?* to rejoin society

Oh what a week it was! Spent the week coughing, sneezing and just all out not well last week. My doctor visit yesterday clears me to go back to work Tuesday. New cough medicine for nighttime and pills for the day time and back on my inhaler for the asthma. I think, and I am saying so with toes crossed, that I am finally ready to be human again. No reading, no needles held in hand...nada....bored. But I did manage another bracelet yesterday....
the beads arrived and sat all week so I just had to do it yesterday. I love this pattern.....think I will need to make a few in different colorways. Also last weeks mail brought me a kit I ordered but I will tell you more about that tomorrow.
I would like to tell you about a Post Office theft. A short time ago I had won a give away from Gaynor ...she emailed me to say it was on the way. Adding to my happiness that I was feeling better yesterday., I found a large envelope in the mail box from her. Happy until I opened, I am not complaining of what she sent because inside the envelope was medical forms for a boy from Arizona and the card she wrote me!...the gift items have been stolen and these papers put back in and sealed back up. It is a Federal offense to tamper with the mail and tomorrow at 8AM when my Post Office Branch opens, I shall be there to file a complaint and insist on an investigation. This happened right here in Arizona, not with Customs. Strange, I phoned the number listed on the forms to the woman in Chandler, and left a message. She has not returned my call. My little grey cells tell me something is amiss here. I will keep you posted.
I must say thank you for the get well wishes sent my email and here.... sorry I have not gotten back to you but computer time was not on my mind. I shall try to get to all of you real soon. Now, time to go and would think with all the rest I got I would be feeling quite chipper...not yet.....hope you all have a spendid day.
