Listening to the sounds of bird chatter~~~~

What a beautiful morning~~~the slider is open and the sounds from the pond and the chatter of the Gold Finches are lovely music. I am off to work again today.....
I am usually a very organized person... I put things in their place and can find what I am looking for. Not , I repeat, not this past week. I am so off kilter! My mind is someplace on vacation and did not take me with it.

This will be finished as an ornament. It is another of the JBW Designs...Christmas Tree Collection VI. I used cream 28ct linen from my drawer...and DMC threads. I have two more designs to stitch. Each card has 2 designs and the other that I have is #V. They do not take too long and a relaxing stitch. I plan on sending them off to .... well..... I guess I really can not tell you.
Well, I need a cuppa and some relax time before getting dressed for work.....thank you for sharing some time with me. Thank you for the kind comments and emails. Enjoy your day.

I have mentioned a few times my dear friend Ziz.... real name Linda but we will not go into the name thing again! Anyway, I could not let my 1 year blogging pass without doing a little something for her. From the very first attempt at my blogging and to this very day she has been encouraging. She does not have a blog but reads mine and some of yours daily.  How can you not like someone who praises your stitching and brags to others about you! But all kidding aside, I count her as a best friend. She is a Kansas girl who grew up in Mesa  before moving to the West Valley .... we moved to these condos the same time!. She has been a tower of encouragement with Mr H  and caring about my well being also. Both she and Mr Ziz can be counted on any hour of day or night.  When I left RI and long time friends itwas meant to be that I found Ziz. This was just a small token that I stitched for her.. I made it into a box top.....

added a few beads to the flower centers and trimmed it with Ric-rac....

Then there are our blog friends. Recently Kaye stitched a sweet Babushka design then offered it to us. I was selected and what arrived?

not only the pattern and some threads, but a 2 beaded kits and a few extras. Thank you Kaye!

The mail also brought me my Secret Pen Pal letter...

I am looking forward to finding out who this pal is in December.
Mr H is feeling a little better.... it is just taking more time than we thought. I tell him of all the kind words, you my friends, send to him... he really appreciates the thoughts.
I am off to work today....so no stitching. I am working on my Secret Santa exchange so there would be no pictures of that to share. I have also been working on some Christmas ornaments and started yet another project.... Where did I find the time!

Good start to my day.....

Finally finished my Quilties... now to email Sandie. This has been a good experience ... a new task to finish and I am glad that I did.

It was enjoyable to stitch as I love hand embroidery. Her directions are great. The button is from my collection...it is quite old.

Well, Mr H is up and we need to attend to a few details. He is having a better day today. Thank you all for your kind thoughts for him. The temps are listed as being back to the 100's today so it means no sitting outside..... oh well, guess I will just return to my stitch chair ....

Somedays are better than others...

Well, after 2 hours with the surgeon yesterday, we have a set back...minor that it may be, it is still a set back. I admire my husband for all that he has been through and still does not really complain. Another 2 weeks to wait and see.
I did finish the stitching on...

I really do enjoy stitching BBD pieces. It is from the JCS 2011 Christmas Ornaments magazine.
I used 32 ct linen from my drawer and the listed DMC floss. Now I just have to decide how to finish it...as a pillow as in the instructions? I guess so. I do like the pillows in my basket.
Remember the Quilties...well, I am still trying to get them finished! Mail date is the 15th! for heavens sake.!!!
I know I will get them done....I know I will get them done......I know!
Well, I am off to work today...unusual for me to go in on a Tuesday, but that is what the schedule said.....did I tell you the nurse that was Mr H's OR nurse is a regular customer at JoAnn's? While takeing the info before surgery she looked at me and remembered me from there. Of coruse with all her surgical garb on I did not recognize her....hopefully I will when she stops in again.

It's been awhile.....

Geez...I do not know what has been happening ... or what I have been doing ... but I have not posted!

First I would like to show you the hat ...

This is where all the pieces of paper with the names to be drawn go.... then a few shakes and out comes a winner.

Next is just  a peek at my Designer Exchange piece that has been mailed....

It has a way to travel and I sure hope she likes it. It was my first flat fold and of course I followed Vonna's directions.

I am putting the last stitches on the BBD bird just do not know how I want to finish it. I have been trying to finish up my Quilties...need to get them finished... it is my first attempt at this so it has me fretting a bit.
