One of my favorite sculptures...

All around Arizona are beautiful water features and sculptures. Some are very western and then there are the others...
I just love this one.."The Valentine"......it is at the Peoria City Hall Complex. The detail is wonderful. Look how she rests her head on his shoulder and the smile on his face. The shoe laces detail of the shoes. The artist is George Lundeen from Colorado. Just wanted to share....
I have started Snowflake #2...almost finished too. Thank you all for your sweet comments on the Candle stand Violets and snowflake #1. I have decided to stitch one of the Alphabet Dolls from The Needle's Notion But I will leave off the letter C....and add a few beads here and there. Well, my friends, that is it for now. Work today...it is Inventory Day at Jo Ann's...and it should be over by the time I arrive at noon....then the return bolts to the display mode....hope we get a good result. In the meantime, so glad you could visit...thanks again for the kind words and emails. Have a wonderful day.

2 completed projects and baby doves

Decided to check on he Dove nest...
and look at these 2 cuties.....
The mom was not too pleased with me, but I really needed to check. Now we will stay away from the nest and it won't be long before these two will go flying away, well at least fly to my bird feeder. I dare not tell Mr H that I caught a finch eating one of the flowers from a plant in the yard.... he will soon find out himself when he is out there watering. They have eaten all the tomato flowers so we will not have tomatoes...the first and last time that the plant is in the front yard!

I did finish my Tatted Snowflake Motif #1...

I am excited to know that I really can tat now! It was the first time using 2 shuttles and the first time making the Josephine Knot...the cute little tip to the outer edge. I could never have done this without all the encouragement from you my friends and thank you again Shirlee for finding me Debra. I also completed the Candle Stand Violets....
I made a few changes... you knew I would. I did not do a complete outline as I thought it was too much, so I selected where I wanted it  and I added dimension with the ribbon and beads and the little pink butterfly.
I told you I would tell you about the road trip with Debra. First to The Attic.... we admit that we were a little disappointed...so many display items still on the floor and many empty spots for patterns. Love the new store as it is larger and brighter. This is the first time I have visited The Attic and spent under $20.00....this will shock Dear Ziz!!! We plan to return in a few months to see how it progresses. Then off to The Fiber Factory. Debra is taking an advanced Tatting class there and we thought, great, we will find supplies. Wrong! There was not even a display of what they will teach in the class. So we decided to trek on over to Scottsdale to visit Old Town Needlework and we were not disappointed there. We were greeted and handed cold bottles of water and I of course found a few items to leave with. We really did enjoy the day.....
I hope you enjoyed the visit with me today. I always love having you and your kind words and emails. I now will find the next tatting motif to begin and of course a X stitch project...maybe the sweet doll..... anyway, enjoy your day.

2 almosts and a garden

Last night Mr H and I visited the main Glendale Library to listen to a stargazing talk and view Saturn through a telescope. First I do not hate children, but I do wish parents use common sense when attending these talks and leave the little children who have no interest home. The gentleman presenting the talk was interesting as were his slides. Then we were able to go out to look through the telescopes set up. After the show we walked through the garden....
a  pleasant stroll. We will return as they have  it set that you can "listen" to the garden with the interactive recording... like you would in a museum. At the front of the library entrance, there is a memorial to the USS Arizona....
It is amazing. Designed by Joe Tyler, a native of Arizona who still resides here, it is sculpted from bronze, copper, sandstone, steel and concrete.
The trees leaves are individually wired to the trunks....really a beautiful tribute to the men and women from all branches of the service. It was a very warm 104 when we headed home around 8PM.
I did manage to almost finish Violets...
just the ribbons and then the outlines here and there. I really like this piece. At first it was just doing to then mount in the Candle Stand.... now I am glad I did this one. I was thinking that maybe I could use this Candle Stand seasonally... making a few to swap in/out. A thought anyway.
I finished my first Tatted Snowflake Motif... well., it is starched and being blocked....

I have more confidence now... this was using 2... count that...2 shuttles. I can see where I need to improve and also see where I have improved. A nice feeling. Mr H said after they hang on the Christmas tree, we should put them in a frame... not away in a box. I should tell you about the outing with Debra to Mesa and lunch...but I think tomorrow would be better. My stomach is asking for food and the laundry is ready for the dryer and I want to get some stitches in on Violets before going to work today....
So glad you stopped by and thank you for the kind words and emails....you really know how to share hugs and encouragement. Have a great day...
