December Sue

 Here we are December 1st. We have all our Christmas decoration finished. This year, Alan and Lisa did the living room tree and the kitchen tree. The Brother really got into the spirit. Once again, Murphy did not get into anything. 

Sue is decorating her tree with the help of two gnomes.My  Lisa gnome this year was joined by The Brother Alan gnome!

This is the last Sun Bonnet Sue monthly banner. It has been fun to create a special scene each month. What shall I do next year? Alan started Christmas wish lists for each of us.... he may be sorry! Lisa and I do shopping together for him so there will be no duplicates. A new family tradition.

I finally did mention to Alan that I fell. He had very stern words for me. I am totally forbidden to climb any step ladder except the one he gave me. He will be removing said items from my reach!.  It can be difficult to admit that I should not do this or that. That I need help. Oh and Lisa is in complete agreement with Alan..... no sympathy from her!

Our Arizona weather has finally changed. We even had rain last night. Not much, but every bit helps. Still in shorts however. Today I got out my winter slippers. Soon Lisa will be moving from her suede slippers to the Alaskan Bear slippers! 

I am still not feeling well...I keep thinking it is just a cold; maybe time for a doctor visit.Anyway, I am happy to have you visit with me today. Thank you for your kind words and thank you for your friendship.

I have been busy

 Well hello! I have been ...I really do not know why I have not posted. Lots of pictures to show you.

Meet Miss Daphne, lady gnome. What a surprise to find her in my mail box. She arrived all the way from Surrey, Canada a gift from dear friend Debbie. She is a very talented lady. The knitting is superb.

Ann Wood has wonderful patterns and I had to have these mushrooms. Growing up, we never bought store mushrooms. My dad picked wild mushrooms and we always had enough jars to last the year. Of course his looked different.

These are more Alice in Wonderland type...  a bit psychedelic. A few more will be appearing in my room.

Sail away with Ann Wood pattern. I just happened to have a button with an anchor on it. Her patterns are fun to make. Some are free but the cost is reasonable for those that are not free. I have a few yet to make from my collection.

Making florets for a Hydrangea...Debbie is making some also. I like origami patterns. This is from the book Fabled Flowers by Kumiko Sudo.

April Showers Sun Bonnet Sue is hung...it may be difficult to see, but the rain drops are silver bugle beads.

So, as you can see, I have kept busy. Next week I will be in Las Vegas with Dianna and one of her daughters, Marissa. Almost was not going...but that is for another day. Nice to chat with you. I must try to post regularly. Thank you for your kind words and for  your friendship.

So winter will officially arrive

 Tomorrow is the first day of winter. I will admit that living in Arizona it is not always easy to tell. Good thing for calendars! The temps are of course no longer in triple digits or in the 100s for that matter but having coffee outside in the morning is still doable. We may even watch the football game today out in the lanai. Just checked the tracking numbers for gifts we sent...still in la-la land. we mailed them on 12/3 and just mailed to cousin Janice on 12/14 and she already received hers! Yes I know there is postal back-up.

Still working on Lisa's socks..

A few have found it confusing to knit no heel or toe...they are generally called yoga socks. This is one completed the other is only a few inches. Why? well I got distracted. Lately it is not difficult!

I saw this someplace on line...can not remember where... but of course it became a challenge and I just had to try. These are practice rocks. Next trip out I may get the leather cording and some river rocks  to do it properly. I found them easy and fun. These rocks found their way to my craft table via across the street from the neighbors landscaping!

Lisa and I have fallen in love with gnomes.... I have had a little one since the late 70s but this guy followed us home last week.

He stands 9 inches tall. Just too cute. 

Murphy did not have a good night, well actually it was me that did not as he managed to keep falling back to sleep in my arms. We made 4 trips from midnight to 4 am out to make deposits. By his alertness this morning you would never know this. At the moment he is trailing Alan about the house. Today is a lazy day here...we are all home. 

Guess it is time to return to my knitting and Christmas music. Currently Michael Crawford is singing; soon to follow will be Johnny Mathis. Glad we could chat today. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.
