Possible concussion, sprained ankle and breaking the law!

A cool start to this weekend....maybe we are finally getting  normal for this time of year.... maybe not. Swishing this morning will be done by Lisa.... mine later. Alan's first day at work yesterday went well and his schedule will be a little different until he is used to this mall.  Today will be a ~l o n g~ day, 10 to 10 but he is up to it.  Last night we went out to eat at Olive Garden.... it was my first ride in his new car. Maybe you are figuring the title at this moment.... if not let me esplain Lucy. First it was the climb in and step down to get into the back seat...yup, they put me in the back seat. That is where the ankle issue started. Then there is the hanging bar that extends across the entire back seat where Alan hung his many suits and dress shirts for work.... that is the head issue.... Alan suggested that I do pull ups! Finally I broke the law for about a mile…. it seems that when they drove here, they were in and out of the trunk via the open seat and the seat belt got caught in back of the seat. So, I moved the to the opposite side and it took several minutes to be able to use that seat belt.... such a experience for an older lady! But I survived and the dinner was delicious and for $5.00 each, Alan and I got to take home an extra meal. Currently they in the garden with their morning coffee and I am nursing a very blurry left eye. Once it clears I will be working on a very special project...repairing (or trying to) a little boys favorite crocheted blanket that has se better days. I did not forget Vickie!
I have been a little busy but I will get to responding to your comments and visiting your blogs.... in the meatime, so happy you stopped by to visit. Thak you for your kind words and for your friendship.
💖I request your special thoughts ad prayers for my dear friend Don and of course Glenda. Don is not feeling very well and is in hospital. Please keep him in your thoughts. ❤
*disclaimer: no older ladies were hurt in this adventure.... this time!

A Cluster of Dragonflies

A beautiful morning in so may ways. The temperature is great… sliders open and fresh air is in. Ala and Lisa are ow living here officially. Today The Brother Alan started his job...same company just a different state. He enjoyed his coffee out in the garden something he would not have been doing in RI. Lisa was not feeling too good yesterday, a cough and scratchy throat. Hoping she will be better today.
This is the last of the dragonflies. Sad to not have another to bead. I will get my beading tray all cleared of the extra beads and get ready for … not sure what next.

Voilà.... here is my Cluster of Dragonflies. It can also be called a Flight. Yes, the tails are of different lengths... I just did them that way. I would love to make another of my own colorway..... I will give it some thought.
Time for the second cup of coffee and something to eat, then chores and the to sit outside until it warms up too much. So glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your kind words and for your friendship.

Just a short story today... The brother Alan and Lisa arrived last evening after a long 11 hour day. Today will most likely be a do nothing relaxing day. Tomorrow Alan reports to work and Lisa and I will find something to do. We are still waiting for the Pod to arrive with their belongings. Right now they are still asleep and I  am enjoying my first cup of coffee. Ave a great day... I know I will.

On the road ~~ day 4

A very cool start to the day but it will soon warm up and the socks will come off. Just waiting for my coffee to finish brewing so my day can begin. Alan and Lisa already began their day....
Last night they were in Shamrock Texas and today are headed for Amarillo...actually they may have already passed there by now. Next state is New Mexico and then it will be about 500 miles to reach home...here in Arizona. Yesterday as they drove through Oklahoma they had pouring rain for a time. This road trip will certainly be recorded as an adventure.
In between this and that I have worked on the dragonfly. The colors are not very bright I this photo … I will definitely get a better picture next time. Hope to have it finished today or tomorrow. The aroma of fresh coffee is calling me and so are the chores. Glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your kind words ad for your friendship.
When will The Brother Alan and Lisa arrive? Check back tomorrow for the update!
Not sure what happened to my pretty print... who knows what is lurking in blogland or my keyboard! 👀

On the road... day 3

Finally this nagging headache seems to be gone. I will take it easy today. Well, there are still things to deal with today but  will do one thing at a time and see how far I can get. Speaking of how far....
Alan and Lisa made their evening stop yesterday in Effingham Illinois. They hit a snag with construction yesterday which had them in single lane traffic for over an hour crawling along at 5mph.
Lisa had to stop and chat with a trailer full of horses found in a parking lot last night. As I type this, they just crossed into Missouri. Lisa texts me updates frequently. The plan is to get to Tulsa Oklahoma today. Then it will be Texas, New Mexico and finally here in AZ. The Pods are in Pennsylvania and headed to Chicago on the way here. Hoping the transport truck arrives soon.
First cup of coffee finished and time to move along with chores. The weather is comfortable right now so open the sliders and front door. Maybe work on the dragonfly today. Nice to chat with you today. Thank you for your kid words ad for your friendship. Fingers crossed no construction issues on the road today.

On the road...day 2

What a lovely morning... sliders open and comfortable air moving in. Speaking about moving in~~~~~
Alan and Lisa travelled 500 miles yesterday. From Rhode Island into Connecticut, New York and lunch in New Jersey. Final stop for the night was in Somerset PA. This morning began with a text from Lisa at 5am AZ time and 8am PA time. Not sure where or when the first stop is but Lisa did mention "100 miles to Ohio".
I went to bed with coughing and a headache and woke with same headache. My plans for the day are minimal this and that and rest.

I have some cross stitch stash needing a home spread on the dining table waiting to be sorted for picture taking. I just watered a plant in the kitchen and missed the pot...  floor successfully mopped up. There is swishing in the laundry area and next up is to make the bed...  that will be it. Coffee and Shredded Wheat finished so on to a glass of juice before switching to iced water. So, please keep good thoughts as Alan and Lisa drive along the highways to reach Arizona.

On the road..day 1

It's finally arrived! The day The Brother Alan and Lisa start the drive from Rhode Island to Arizona. The text from Lisa said it was a beautiful day … more ways than one for sure.

The route they will drive is very much like what Denny and I drove 15 years ago. I will wait for timely updates as they travel. Please keep them in your thoughts for a safe journey coming home.
I twisted my knee just a little yesterday working in the garage up and down the step ladder but it is finally ready for their storage items. I have a large donation box ready for the pick up on Wednesday and of course a large trash bag for Tuesday pickup. I had thought about working in the garden today as it is a little cloudy which makes for good raking weather but think a day of rest is better. Finally cooler temps have arrived. As long as the wind stays calm, maybe sitting outside to do some beading would be nice. At the moment I think an English muffin with peanut butter and a glass of OJ is in order. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a travel update. Thank you for your kind words ad for your friendship.
Don ad Glenda update: it was so good to see ad chat a few minutes with Don the other day. He is doing okay. Continued good thoughts for them please.
