~~~~~an update
I had not planned on blogging today. Then after receiving many kind words of encouragement, I wanted to update. Mr H came to the doctor with me yesterday afternoon. The word is that there is no more that can be done. It is a wait and see as to whether my hand will heal itself. The swelling may never completely go away. In time it may very well be much better and less of a problem. I have written my letter of job termination and will bring it to Jo Ann's today. This month was 8 years working there. I want to give my hand the chance to heal. I want to be able to enjoy my stitching. Thank you all, my dear friends for the encouragement and caring comments and emails. Oh I know it has not been the end of the world, this problem.... but nevertheless it has been painful at times and frustrating.
You're in pretty good shape for the shape you are in.
Happy to have you visit......have a great day.
Patience and time.... there is something around the corner
to bring reason to all of this. Hope the healing will allow
you to pursue the needlework at your pace and with ease.
Sorry there are changes on your horizon. Remember as one door closes a new one opens and a new chapter begins.
You might be surprised and find that your hands heals by itself.
Wishing you good luck!
I'm so sorry you have had to hand your notice in. At least you got your final gift card!
Could you not stay on long term sick leave and keep your staff discount perks?
It must have been a difficult decision for you to make Gracie, re resigning from your work but I guess things do happen which force us to face up and decide. My DH has had an awful problem with his wrist/hand. It has been so bad he can't even wring a small dishcloth out of excess water and some days can't use that hand to turn a tap off. Can't use a can opener or take lids off jars. He's now on Prednisone and is juggling the dose to suit with the amount of pain/ non use he has. Oh my goodness this comment may be too long;) I think he is reasonably comfortable pain wise at the moment. When he gardens it "stirs" the discomfort up.Here's hoping that in good time your hand will be a lot better.
Maybe ending your job will speed your recovery, that would be awesome!
Poor you, so painful and frustrating but you know yourself better than anyone and if it feels right go for it.hands and wrists are complicated (I know!!!) take lots of breaks that way you can keep sewing, that,s what I do and you'll find the right balance for you. Take care. Maria xx
I hope you enjoy having the freedom to not have to work. I hope your hand heals soon. An Epson salt soak each day might help. With god speed Gracie.
It's okay! I will always be thinkingbof you every time I will go to Joanns. Oh sweet Gracie, I'm happy for you. Now you are giving gifting yourself to heal the best way you can. 8 years in retail is hard work & an achievement. Congratulations! Hope your hand heals. love Annette
