New tenants

Yesterday we peeked into the nest of the House Finches...
Just as I snapped the pictures they curled up tight....but there are 3, 2 facing front (bottom of photo) and 1 facing to the left. Not the best picture but it will do for now. If you click on the picture I think you will see them better. Mr H came in later during the day and announced "someone is building a nest in the herb pot".... no no no. So he moved the herbs someplace else and now today I find...
the doves are moving in...it is okay because it is just a decorative wall hanger. They may be the same two who lived there last year. As much as I love the nature  I do not want them all living in my plants! Recently I remarked to Mr H that we are not seeing any lizards around...well, the Road Runner who has been crossing between our courtyard and the one across the way is probably feasting on them! Now, it is fun to watch the Road Runner, but I do like the lizards too. Geez. I have been keeping buy with....
my Fan and Feather Shawl. It is about 36 inches now and I still have a way to go.  I am not sure how long I will make it but I do love to wrap a shawl around and over my shoulders.  I also remind myself that it will be stretched when blocked. Also working on...
Victorian Lady....I am so enjoying this one. There is no color picture with the pattern and I am using the listed DMC threads, so it is a puzzle coming to life as I stitch. The pattern is printed on a small card (black/white) and states measurements of 2 x 4 inches ...I think this will be a bit larger. I already have thought how I want to finish it. All in all, I am keeping busy. Cross stitch in the morning and knitting in the afternoon. The weather today is very overcast with the chance of rain over the next few days....yesterday the temp reached 97...it will be cooler the rest of the week. It would be nice to have some rain....I am so glad you had some time to visit with me....I am thankful for the friendship and kind words you give to me. Have a wonderful day.

You really are running a wildlife sanctuary there!
Great work on your Victorian Lady too. Hope the birds appreciate the ORTS.

I enjoyed my visit here today, catching up with what is happening in your world. I love the picture of the birds, it is fun to watch little birds hatch and grow. We have had a few in our yard in the past, I have not noticed any so far this year but I should take a little tour of the yard and see what is happening. Your shawl and cross-stitch are both great projects. Looking forward to checking back on your progress.

I adore your bird/nest photos. I too try to snap a photo or two of nestlings, having to be careful not to upset them, however much I want to look at them. Love your shawl and cross stitch lady. Nice work. Happy Stitching/Knitting/ Photographing from Ottawa, Canada.
