This morning, very early, maybe around 4 AM, I decided it was time to settle down and complete Elizabeth. First was to get the body ready....Time was spent fitting the dowel and cutting it twice before I was happy with the height. Then the fiberfill had to be plump but not billowing....
Then it was on to the skirt. I hand stitched it to the silk Dupioni lining and then pressed it carefully.....then it was on to making the scissor pouch and getting everything gathered just right and attached to the body.
I am so pleased with the outcome. Mr H gave her a nice smile when he awoke, and I got a "well done".
The ribbons tied look nice and frilly......

These scissors are from Germany and I have had them forever....probably 30 or more years; they now have a place with Elizabeth. At this moment she is sitting in the living room . She will eventually have a place in the sewing room.... but for now, I just want to admire her. Yes I spent a bit of money for her but she is so worth it. I think that is about it for now. I need breakfast and a cup of coffee.....thank you for visiting with me. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Wow...I have only started looking at 'stitchy' blogs today and lucky me, I found yours. I am speechless. This is absolutely stunning.
Did you include your name & the year you made it as I can imagine beautiful Elizabeth will become a treasured heirloom. :)
It's gorgeous - you can be very proud.
There's no way I could ever make anything like it, which makes me adore her even more.
Am curious what's next...
You should be very, very proud. Elizabeth is absolutely gorgeous and the detail is fabulous.
She is so beautiful! You did an amazing job. I've been wanting to make a doll like that, but I am very intimidated by it. Were the instructions good, or did you need to figure out a lot of it by yourself?
She is absolutely gorgeous Gracie, well done. Shirley N.Z.
Congratulations Gracie! She is gorgeous! I think I will treat myself to the threads and such for my bday. She's so pretty. :)
Elizabeth is just stunning! You have done an amazing job finishing her so beautifully. It's nice that your special scissors have a home with her too.
What time do you go to bed to be able to get up and stitch at 4am?
As I slowly catch up on everything this appears! She is completely beautiful and such a lovely way to hold your scissors! You're an amazing soul for waking at 4am and actually being able to get things done. I imagine it's nice to work in the cool of the early morning. :)
She's stunning, well done.
What a lovely job you did on Elizabeth, I love half dolls!!!
