Each December, Jo. organizes this yearly event and besides a theme/photo, she gives us a topic.
My photo is of a felt tree that I made from a pattern by Donna Bayless. Loved every minute of making it! I have it in my room and it remains out all year. There are ornament of one kind or another and then I add a few specific Christmas ones for December.
The process was easy because Donna's instructions were easy to follow. This is the 24 inch size...she has more than one size to choose from.
The topic this year is Santa stories. Many years ago, Mr. Horton...My Denny.... decided he wanted to play Santa for the family. We bought the outfit from Sears. Christmas Eve was celebrated back then at my parents home. Dennis would make an excuse to leave the house...out the front door and in the basement door to dress. Then he would make noise and HO HO his way back to the party. Once he gave a few gifts out he would depart by the front door. when he returned the kids all told of the visit. Then...it was bound to happen... my nephew Joseph told everyone that Santa wore a wedding ring like uncle Dennis. That did it...Santa never returned. It was also time for the question...how does Santa visit when there is no fireplace? Yes, question by the same nephew! Of course my solution was to get a Santa Magic Key!
Be sure to visit the days before me and continue after. Jo asked if there was a date we preferred. Years back I asked for December 16th as it was Mr H's birthday.
Happy heavenly birthday Denny. It has been 6 years without you....miss you .....my forever Santa.

I love your tree 🎄 what a great story, Merry Christmas 🎄
Ah, the forgotten accessoire and the curious child - a classic tale of Christmas! Love your felt tree, it's gorgeous and best of all, you never have to deal with fallen needles!
Bonjour, glad to visit you for the Advent Calendar. Some child are so impressed that they don't look for details on Santa but some does (my niece saw he was wearing the same shoes that her dad). Nice to think about Denny with such warm memories. Hugs and Kisses. Joyeuses fêtes de Noël ! xxx
Thanks for taking part in the Advent Calendar Blog Hop this year. Your little tree is lovely and it's nice to keep it up all year too.
Great picture of Denny, I bet he made a wonderful Santa!
Love your felt tree, Gracie! I had to laugh about your hubby/Santa being found out! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family🧑🏼🎄🎉
There's always that one kid, right?? LOL! What a sweet story/memory; I'm so glad you have those to share! Your felt tree is really darling! I hope you had a Merry Christmas...and have a Happy New Year! :)
Wow, your tree looks great, with lovely ornaments.
Some kids seem to notice the things we don't even think about! Love that magic key though. And you had a very special Santa, what a sweet photo.
